"I failed to protect my father just as I failed to do the same for my mother." A deep sigh slipped my lips as I moved over to the bed and slumped right there, burying my face on the pillow.
I had told everyone I wanted to be alone, including my partner, so they stayed off, but now I just wish Dracula was here to cuddle me and whisper some words of comfort into my ears. I was now an orphan, and the fact that one person caused their death was really eating me up.

I didn't know when I slept off until I was woken by knocks on my door. It was like there was chaos outside, and many people seemed to be yelling at me in pure hatred as if I had done something so wrong.
Slowly, with a yawn, I climbed down the bed, frowning in confusion at what the noise outside my door was all about.
Something doesn't seem right, and I was already having foreboding sensations all over my skin. My eyes glanced at the clock hanging on the wall, and I could see it was morning the next day already.
I had slept for so many hours and didn't wake throughout the night after dozing off yesterday evening. You won't blame me because I haven't had the chance to sleep as much as I wanted since my life became miserable.
I was a bit weak, and my eyes were baggy as I made my way to the door. It was normal to hear cries and different kinds of noise in the royal palace since the alpha was dead, but this time around, it seemed to be directed at my door, and people were clamoring forward to pour their rage on me.
I drew closer, and that was when their voice became clearer, and I couldn't believe what I heard. My blood ran cold, and every muscle in my body seized as shivers ran down my spine. I stared with wild eyes, wondering if my ears were playing tricks on me.

"After killing the luna, you went ahead to do the same to your father. People who were born and bred you! Better come out and face us all! Demonic child!"
These drew the comments shrieking from outside my door from voices I couldn't even recognize.
How could they think I killed my father? I wasn't even at home when it all happened. Do they still need a soothsayer before they stop being stupid and realize who the real enemy is? Is Laura's disappearance not enough to open these dumb eyes to the truth?
I walked over and opened my door. The noise increased as they all pointed fingers at me, struggling to free themselves from the bodyguards who were keeping them away from me.
My eyes scanned their faces, and I noticed they were mere pack members, leaving me more confused. Dracula and Scarlett rushed to me at that moment, fear brooding in their eyes as they stared at me quizzically while I gazed back at them.
"You are a killer! Your father wrote it clearly: You murdered him!" One man from the group of pack members yelled with so much anger and irritation in his voice that I stood transfixed, not understanding what he meant.
Just then, the Gammas and new Betas stepped in. They faced the group of pack members and calmed them down.
"You all should leave. We will settle this together. For now, let's be peaceful." The Gamma first spoke, and the noise reduced to murmurs.
"Whatever. We don't want to see her as our ruler! A killer can't be our Alpha!" Someone burst out, and one after the other, they all agreed to what was said.
"Let's be peaceful before she attacks us. It's unfortunate we have such a girl in our pack. Only her mother knows who her real father is because our Alpha can't have a demonic creature like her!" Another woman spit, and it was enough for Dracula to bear.
I noticed as he was about to turn them all into corpses, so I quickly grabbed his hand, stopping him.
"Don't..." I muttered, and he fumed.
"Allow me to show these brats how to respect! That nonsense letter doesn't make you the killer!" He growled, and my eyes widened as he confirmed there was really a letter written by my father.
"You can do whatever you want, but you would rather kill us all than become our ruler. Evil child!" Someone among them cursed before they all hurried out, flashing glares of hatred at me. A stare that showed they wished they had the power to tear me apart. It was clear they would have attacked me brutally if I had still been that poor, weak girl.
But what letter are they talking about?
"You all are a bunch of blind fools. Go fuck yourself!" Dracula snorted and pulled me into a hug.
"We came to tell you there is an emergency meeting in the palace today at noon; please show up to explain what the alphabet meant by that letter he wrote. And please don't be violent with anyone. The Beta spoke to me calmly with a short bow, his last words hitting me hard. Like, what does he mean by me not being violent?
I didn't kill my father.
"The violent one is this stupid pack members. Just warn them not to touch even the tip of her cloth, because I won't spare anyone. My mate didn't kill your weakling alpha. The time he died, we were together!" Dracula scoffed, but they said nothing else as they walked away, shaking their heads and hissing while glancing at me with dread and irritation, which made me feel like a really evil child.
