"Aw." Sophie's eyes softened as she entered the kitchen, her eyes landing on a young man flipping pancakes on a griddle. Recently, Keefe had discovered human delicacies, and had been spoiling his wife with her favorite foods from the past. Except meat, of course.
"You made me breakfast?"
"Nah. It's for Ella."
Giggling, Sophie wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her face against his back. Somehow he'd managed to cover his entire shirt in flour.
"I love you," she said, and struggled through a cough as she inhaled.
"I appreciate it, Foster," Keefe said, smirking, "but next time you say it, try not to choke on the words."
