"You can change the layout and the letters" Jen proposed. I took a look at my design not knowing what was missing
"You need to seriously take over the media things are going insane with the announcement of the new line" Miles said on his laptop
We were now at my office preparing things for the big launching of the new Valentine's Day collection tomorrow.
Tomorrow... In 3 hours to be exact. I had to officially launch the new line in 3 hours and I still had so much to do. New ideas that ran through my mind.
Whenever I thought the design was ready I wanted to change something I didn't liked. My assistant and secretary have been helping me out, as long as my entire crew but i let them go early.
I hated to make my employees stay at work for more time than they are supposed to. It feels wrong. They should go back to their homes and families, live their lives besides work.
Me... Well I didn't have a family or home to go back to right now so I was quite well. My friends were making it possible to help me out.
"I don't know there is something I don't like" I commented while looking at my computer screen
Miles stood up and walked behind my chair to see my design. "You know what is missing?" he questioned making me and Jen hum "Sparkles..."
"Sparkles..." I commented "AH that's it!" I exclaimed happily hugging Miles and kissing his cheek "Sparkles!" I jumped happily in my chair. My happy dance was interrupted by a knock on the door...
"Yes?" I said making a tired Connor appear into view
"Hello, Mrs.Maxwell. Do I come in a bad time?"
"No Connor what do you want?" I asked, his cheeks got redder while his eyes looked at Jennifer
"Can I- can I take one of your workers?" he questioned shily while Jen bit her lips
I gave a small chuckle while nodding "Yeah you can take her. Have a safe trip home." I smiled Jen happily walked to the door
"Use protection" Miles advised teasing them
Jenny rolled her eyes and left the place with Connor.
After an hour of advance I was almost done and between Miles yawns I asked him to go away.
"Miles go home. I can do this, please go home" I begged while looking at his tired face
"No I am staying here till the end with you" he said almost sleeping
"No you are not! Leave my office and get a cab! You are not driving like that" I demanded
"It's past time... You're no longer my boss"
"You're right I am your friend. That's why you're leaving and getting a good sleep at home" I said standing up and grabbing his coat. He slowly stood up and I helped him dress his coat
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" he questioned concerned
"I am " I smiled at his tired self
"I don't want to leave you"
"I know honey but you need to take a good rest" I gave him his purses and walked him to the elevator
"You're the best boss I ever had" he breathed with a smile. Once the elevator doors opened he said his goodbyes with a tight hug and a 'good luck' and walked inside the elevator.
I turned back to my office, patiently and calmly doing my job. Stress wasn't a friend of mine so I needed to make this as calmly and relaxing as I could.
50 minutes to midnight...
I was tired but I was almost done. Afraid to fall asleep I started to eat Blaze's office candies that I had stolen.
I wasgiving some final touches on my design when my door opens up showing a big figure scaring the crap out of me.
"JESUS!" I exclaimed
"Not Jesus just me" he said walking in the office like it was his
"Don't you knock at a time like these?"
"Though that was our thing" he said sitting down at the couch and looking over at Miles's laptop "Looks good" he said analysing my marketing design
"Yeah...almost done" I said while facing reality and keeping up my job
"Wow... You sound like me" he chuckled
"God forbade me" I rolled my eyes
"It's close..."
"What are you doing here?" I realized questioning his existence by this time he would be already home
"Had to finish some things"
"Hm..." I hummed at is vague explanation " well I will come home late..."
"Yeah I presumed" he said, lying down on the couch "I am waiting"
"Waiting for what?"
"For you... So I can take us home" he clarified, my heart clenched at his words...what was this? Caring day?
"I can grab a cab and go alone. Just head home..." I said not wanting him to wait for me.
"You are not going on a cab. I am waiting" he imposed while closing his eyes...
He look tired so I decided to give up and carry on my work. After some nerves and anxiety midnight came and I publish the final design with all I wanted. It was perfect and it was already getting attention over different countries.
"FIANLLY!" I shouted in joy " I DID IT! " I said getting up and giving small jumps as the number of views towards the post increased " YES! Oh my god so many people already! " I smiled sitting down again
Seeing the comments and repost on my work I could finally rest. A huge weight came off my shoulders and chest when I finally had the work done. It was like I could finally breath.
I organized my desk, and grabbed my coat, I turned off the lights and I was ready to leave. That's when I notice the light of Miles screen flashing towards the couch. I got near to close the laptop but I noticed the blue light reflecting to the couch... And then I remembered...Blaze waited.
He was peacefully sleeping, one hand over his chest while the other was behind his head making his muscle more visible in that tight shirt, that it seemed it was about to rip at any second.
I couldn't deny, he was really handsome even sleeping and I guess that's something I will never get use to. God certainly had favorites, and he was one of them, his jawline was perfectly defined, a perfect angle.
His soft expression of sleep made him look so at peace and comfortable, and his smooth lips looked like he was smiling. Should I wake him up? He looks so delicate in his sleep and I bet he deserves a nice night of sleep since his night terrors appear once in a while.
Maybe I shouldn't wake him up...I will just-
"Are you done looking at me?" his demeanor voice asked scaring me with his eyes still closed
"Were you awake?"
"Yes..." he said standing up
"I though you were sleeping" I claimed
"I wasn't....were you having fun looking at me?"
"I wasn't looking at you" I lied
"I could sense you breathing to my face" he explained while dressing his coat
"You dreamed "
"I did not...but sure, whatever you want" he smiled leaving the office. I followed him to the elevator but a red light over Miles desk caught my attention
"Wait a minute" I told him, he placed a hand over the elevator door so it wouldn't close. I walked over to the desk and saw 30 missed calls on Miles reception phone from...my mom... Worry filled me in. My mom called 30 times, something happened...something bad happened but she didn't called me, why?
" I need to go to my mom!" I said quickly walking on the elevator and searching for my phone on my bag.what the hell happened for 30 missed calls
"I know...she called me" he said making me stop in my tracks
"She called you and didn't called me?"
"She tried to reach you but no one was in the reception so she called me " he said calmly freaking m out even more
"Then what happened is everything alright?"
"She said she knew you were doing something important so she didn't want to alarm you but Julia is on the hospital" he said looking at me he was so calm I couldn't understand why he was so calm, was he that emotionless? He knew my cousin was on the hospital and he didn't told me anything! I could kill him right now!
"What about...i don't know...TELLING ME?" I shouted at him
"She is stable, your mom forbid me to tell you before you finished your work" he said calmly, I was almost hyperventilating of worry and anxiety
"You backed up my mother?" I asked revolted
"She had a solid point, you wouldn't finish your job if you knew it. You would get stressed like you are now and you would want to see her as quickly as you could like you want...right now" he explained leaving the elevator calmly while I stressful followed him to the carc
"All you could think about was me finish the goddamn work and you couldn't tell me my cousin had a problem? All you could care about was if I finish the freaking work first " I pointed out furiously looking at him, he got near me way to near, I could sense his warmth and breath. He wasn't angry but his face held a determined expression
"I can assure that work was my last priority. I did what I had to do, I know you're angry and nervous but don't blame it on me...now you are getting in that car and we are going to see your cousin!" he demanded making me gulp. I did not say a word after, I was too tuned at his reaction simply got in and waited for him to drive me to the hospital
Once we were in the hospital I was way too stressed and Blaze was trying to calm me down. However that did not stop me from running around in the hallways straight do my cousin's room.

I looked around running through the halls while Blaze kept calling me.
"Eleonora calm down" he spent of whispered through the hall he was a bit far behind but since it was late there was no one else around making his voice echo through the hospital
"I need to find the room 357" I said in a hurry
"Yeah I know but can you take a deep breath for a second" he said almost reaching me
"Can't " I said looking around for information to the room 357
"Here" he pointed to his right then I noticed the plate 'rooms 350-399'
I followed him through the big corridor most of the patients were asleep in the big white halls. Hospitals we're never my thing, mostly because the last memory I have from a hospital is my aunt's death, Julia's mom.
"Room 357" I heard Blaze say. He let me get in first and I was faced with a tired Dennis sitting down holding a sloppy Charlie in his arms, he was sitting in a chair near Julia who was in a bed with an IV catheter connected to her arm. She looked pale but was giving a reassuring smile to Dennis.
"Hey..." I announced my entrance making them look over at me
"Hey cous" she said in a tired smile
"What happened?" I questioned while going near her
"It's all okay now" she smiled "Hey Blaze"
"Hello Julia how are you feeling?"
"I am better now" she smiled "don't worry" she said caressing my face
"What happened?" I questioned curiously
"Well there's a little girl who is not making our life easy" she told me while I frowned at her not really understanding, that's when she places a hand over her belly and then I understand
"Oh my god!" I said shocked but with a smile creeping off my face " I am going to be an aunt again!" I said jumping happily
"Yeah you are" she smiled
"Why haven't you told me?" I widened my eyes
"Well..." she started but not really sure how to proceed
"Hey Dennis you must be tired"Blaze said looking at Charlie over his dad shoulder
"Yeah this guy is getting big" he laughed
"I can take him" Blaze said extending his hands
"Thanks" Dennis smiled, Blaze took sleepy Charlie of the room and I carried on my questions
"Why didn't you told me guys?" I asked both of them
"For starters this wasn't planned at all" Julia let out "we didn't want to trouble the family with our problems..."
"Wait... Who knows about this?" I questioned afraid of her answer
"Now everyone... Before this... just my dad "
"Oh Julia" I breathed placing a hand on my head in frustration
"Why?"
"I got the news and then, weeks after Dennis was fired and just a few months ago we made renovations in the house. This girl was not in our plans at all"
"Are you on a tight budget? Girl, I can help you with that we are family I-"
"No... This is our life, our problems, I couldn't ask you for money ever Eleonora!"
"But I can-"
"No! We will make this through even if we have to cur on more stuff, we can do this." she said
"You and me, babe" Dennis reassured
"You're stubborn"
"I am a Vargas what did you expect?"
"So... What did my little niece do?" I asked
"Well... her momma has been making a lot of effort lately" Dennis explained "More effort than it should"
"I almost lost her," she said in a sad tone, a small tear reaching the corner of her eye
"Why?" I questioned
"She is working double shifts" Dennis spoke making Julia hit his arm
"Julia... I can lend you money, I don't want you to overwork yourself and put your daughter's life on the line" I proposed
"I am fine Elle!" she exclaimed in an angry tone. I didn't want to frustrate her anymore, Julia was a stubborn person I wasn't getting anything out of this. I wanted badly to help, but I can't help if she doesn't want me to. I respect their wants and wishes but still I can't help but to feel bad for not helping.
"Ok! Ok... Well see if you get some rest please" I said kissing her head "They are probably coming over right?"
"yeah they are coming... My dad told everybody...they were a bit far from the center of New York that's why that aren't here yet" Julia explained
"Well...see of you can rest before they get here... Our family can be a bit loud and annoying in these situations" I chuckled making them laugh along. I kissed her goodbye and gave a hug to Dennis. I guessed they needed to talk alone.
