"He's not answering the phone" China tells me, calling Dj for the hundredth time.
"Keep calling him" I tell her.
I can't believe all that just happened.
Damn I fucked up..
There's a knock at our room door.
"Come in" China semi yells.
In walks Dani..
"Dj just called me" Dani tells us.
"What did he say?!" China asks curiously, damn near falling off the bed to stand up.
"He said that he's okay and Uncle Tas got him a hotel room, whoever Uncle Tas is.." Dani answers.
China sighs in relief.
"Call Tas" China tells me.
I immediately call Tas, putting the phone on speaker.
Dani walks out of the room, closing the door behind herself..
"You looking for Dj ain't you?" Tas asks, answering the phone.
"Yeah, what hotel he at?" I ask Tas.
China comes closer to the phone.
"I told him I wasn't gone tell you so if he asks, I didn't tell you but he at the Marriott in room two thirteen" Tas tells me causing my heart to break a little.
I furrow my eyebrows.
"He told you not to tell me?" I ask trying to hide the hurt in my voice..
"Yeah but he wouldn't tell me why or what happened. He kept it brief and told me that he just needed me for my ID because he's underage" Tas says.
I nod.
"Alright, thanks Tas" I tell him.
"No problem my nigga" Tas ends the call.
I look at China..
"At least we know he's okay" I tell her.
She nods.
There's a moment of silence..
"So what now?" China asks, breaking the silence.
I rub my face.
"Do you still love me?" I look into her eyes.
She nods.
I sigh in relief..
"Then now we lay down and go to sleep. Dj needs to cool down for the night" I tell her, laying down.
"Come here" I demand while patting my chest.
China climbs on top of me, laying on my chest and getting comfortable.
I clap my hands together, turning the room light off before wrapping my arms around China.
Ain't no better feeling than laying with her..
"I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry for hitting you again and I'm sorry for cheating. I promise that bitch not having my baby even if I have to shoot it out of her" I whisper to China before kissing her forehead.

The next morning..

I wake up to a FaceTime call from Summer.
"Hello?" I answer the phone in a groggy voice.
"Good Morning" Summer smiles.
"Good Morning" I reply, sitting up in my hotel room bed.
"Why doesn't that look like your room, where are you?" Summer questions.
"I'm at a hotel room" I tell her as all of the events from last night start to replay in my head.
Summer gasps "Why are you at a hotel room?"
"Did you stay there with Rita last night?" Summer asks looking like she's about to cry.
"Summer!" I speak sternly, letting her know to stop.
"Sorry" Summer apologizes, running her fingers through her blonde hair.
"I'm at a hotel room because some crazy shit happened at my house last night" I tell her briefly.
"I don't really want to talk about it though" I tell her before she can ask what happened..
A call from Dani pops up on my screen.
"My sister calling me, I'm gone call you right back" I tell Summer.
She nods "Okay"
I answer the phone for Dani, ending the call with Summer..
My mom's face appears on the screen.
"Dj" My mom says excitedly at the sight of me.
"You wouldn't pick up the phone for me so I had to use Dani's phone"
I stare at her face, noticing all of the bruises from where pops hit her..
"Dj please come home" My mom begs, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I suck my teeth "For fucking what? To watch you get beat on? I'll kill pops before I do that!"
I love my mom more than life itself.
"He didn't do anything, it wasn't your dads fault" My mom says, defending him.
I suck my teeth.
"Its pissing me off that you keep defending him like I didn't see what the fuck I saw!" I continue, getting angrier.
"Dj" My mom says softly, furring her eyebrows.
"Dj what?! Get the fuck off my phone gang!" I yell before ending the call.
I take a deep breath..
I'm not even mad at my mom for real but its like she-
Someone knocks at my room door, interrupting my thoughts.
Must be the housekeepers.
"I don't need no service" I speak while opening the door.
I come face to face with my dad...
Red
"Can we talk?" I ask Dj nervously.
He stands at the door with a mean mug..
"Please?" I ask with pleading eyes.
He sucks his teeth.
"Make it quick" He moves aside.
I walk into his hotel room, sitting on the small couch.
"What's up?" Dj questions, shrugging his shoulders and still mean mugging me..
I sigh "I'm sorry for hitting your mama"
"You're sorry?" Dj scuffs.
"What the fuck is that suppose to mean, nigga you were beating on my mama!" Dj yells, clearly getting angry.
I hold my hands up in surrender.
"You think sorry is suppose to fix that?" Dj asks.
I shake my head.
"No but I don't know what else to say or if there's anything I even can say." I slowly put my hands down.
"I love your mama more than life itself but we both have our flaws. Sometimes I get so angry to the point where I black out and all I see is red.. I didn't get my name because I'm lightskin" I tell Dj with a light chuckle.
He mean mugs me..
"What can I do to fix this?" I question.
Dj walks over to the bed, quickly grabbing something off of it.
I hold my hands up as he points his gun at me.
"Dj" I speak, pausing.
"Put the gun down" I tell him.
He shakes his head.
"You told me the number one rule to being a king pin is respect" Dj tells me, still holding the gun in my face.
I nod "I did"
"Since I'm going to be a king pin. I'm gone need you to respect me by respecting my mama, you understand?" Dj questions.
I taught him well...
I nod "Understood"
He lowers his gun.
"I don't want you to look at me differently man. I still love you and your mama. Ain't shit gone change that." I tell Dj, standing up.
He nods "I still love you too pops. I just need you to keep your hands off my mama"
I nod.
I respect it..

"Dj!" My mom yells, pulling me into a hug as I walk into the house with my dad.
She looks into my face with a sad smile.
"I love you" I tell her.
"I love you too" My mom says, pulling me into another hug.
