Andrea's p.o.v

"Okay, I'll head down for recon," carol said after she left the ship. I watched as she left in a golden ball of light and then watched Nat as she looked out of the window in awe. She kept her stone cold stature but I could see the amazement in her eyes, the slight relaxation in her body as if she had ticked something off of her bucket list.

I hoped that if she did have a bucket list, it was long. So we could do all of the things on it. I'd find a way to document it too. But as my thoughts ran away from me I felt a pit in my stomach. There were things I wanted to do with my sister, too, which I couldn't.

And as the thought settled, determination set in to get her back. So we can all have the happy ending we deserve.

"This is gonna work, Steve," Nat spoke to the soldier, confidence in her tone. "I know it will. Cause I don't know what I'm gonna do if it doesn't," he replied, making me worry slightly for the man.

But at the same time I didn't know what I would do either. I had a life without my sister, but that was before I knew she existed. She's had a place in my life for so long now I don't want to live life without her in it. The only reason I'm not 10 bottles in, or under the sheets never wanting to leave is the hope that we can get them back.

"No satellites. No ships. No armies, no ground defences of any kind," carol listed off, confused as to why Thanos wouldn't go all out to protect himself. "It's just him."

Rocket flew the ship down to the ground, we were fortunate enough that we could breathe this air. It would have been awkward if we all got off the ship and died from lack of oxygen.

"Okay, I need you to teleport into the building he just entered and lead him to that hole about 10 ft left so I can get a good shot," Carol ordered. I stepped forward but stopped when a hand grabbed onto my arm. I turned to see my wife and smiled softly.

"Be safe," she whispered. "Always," I grinned, before double blinking through the gaps in the wood of the roof. Within seconds I was stood in front of the titan. I pulled out my echo gun before shooting him with it.

It barely scratched him, but clearly made him angry. "You're supposed to be dead," he growled before lunging towards me. I teleported behind him and smirked knowing he was in place. And seconds later a golden blast hurdled through the roof knocking the monster down.

Carol then tackled him again before grabbing onto his neck and pulling in a move that was interesting to see. Bruce in his hulk buster suit appeared, grabbing his arm while the others helped hold Thanos. Thor jumped in and cut off his hand with the gauntlet on.

Steve and Nat then walked in to get any answers from Thanos that they could. But, we were all left shocked when rocket flipped the gauntlet for there to be no infinity stones inside. My heart dropped, and panic rose within me. Where were they?

"Where are they?" Steve said sternly as Carol tightened her grip. "Answer the question," Carol gritted angrily. "The universe required correction. After that, the stones served no purpose... beyond temptation," he spat out.

"You murdered trillions!" Bruce spoke angrily as he shoved him to the ground. "You should be grateful," the purple titan spat out. I could see Nat breathing a little heavier, the panic in her rising aswell. We had too much to lose.

"Where are the stones?" Nat asked. "Gone. Reduced to atoms," he deadpanned. "You used them two days ago!" Bruce shouted once more, not understanding. But I knew. He used the stones to destroy the stones.

He laughed a little as he had seen what we had noticed and he grinned as he looked at me. "I am inevitable," he stated matter of factly. "We have to tear this place apart. He has to be lying," Rhodey was grasping on the last bits of hope. But it was already done.

Thor reacted in anger and chopped his head off, meanwhile I dropped to my knees, tears escaping my eyes. I didn't make a noise and no one else said anything to me. It didn't take long before the others began leaving. But I stayed, in my own thoughts.

I felt a soft hand on my shoulder and saw my beautiful wife kneel beside me. "We can find another way. We'll do something, we'll get them back."

I felt guilty for what I did next. But it was building up. After having to clean up the compound, deal with people ridiculing us, losing half of everything in the universe. This was my breaking point. I hadn't shouted at Nat before like this, and I regret doing it.

"What do you expect us to do?! Huh?! What are we gonna go back in time?!" I shouted, standing up and giving myself some distance from her. "You're angry and-" "angry? You think I'm angry?! I am furious! I died! My sister died!" I clenched my fists in pure anger. "She's not dead, we can get her back-"

"You're delusional Natasha! They're not coming back! They're all dead, gone forever and there is nothing we can do about it. Wanda is dead. Yelena is dead. Clints whole goddamn family died! But y'know what? We're the unlucky ones because now we have to live with it. I wish Thanos didn't turn back time. I wish I was still on the floor of that battleground dead and unaware of what I would have to live through," I wiped my face from my tears and rushed out feeling like I couldn't breathe.

I spotted the tears in her eyes as I brushed past her. It didn't take me long to find myself out of sight from the others as I crouched into a small ball and tried everything to get my breath back. But eventually I lost and darkness overcame me.

Vision:

I didn't know where I was this time. There was nothing around for miles. My heart was hurting and it was completely empty. I heard footsteps for a moment before I turned and came face to face with someone who made me breathe again.

"Wanda," I let out in one breath before hugging her tightly. "Saving the world always did come with a big sacrifice. Didn't it?" She spoke softly a caring smile on her face.

"I'm sorry I lost you Wanda. I-I don't think there's a way to get you back I-" she cut me off with a shake of her head.

"I didn't mean me. Now wake up."

End vision:

I gasped as I sat up in an empty bed in an empty room. Had it all been a dream?

When Steve walked in with a solemn look on his face, I assumed not. "I carried you back to the ship and got you into bed," he informed me, before sitting at the end of the bed with his head in his hands. It was a vulnerable way I don't think I've ever seen Steve in before.

"Is Nat okay?" I asked. "Not really. No. We uh, we heard your argument. She hasn't talked since," he told me and I gulped, tears already refilling my eyes. "I should go and talk to her-" he cut me off quickly.

"Before you do. You might not admit it, but you are a soldier. You are as much of a soldier as the men that fought on the front lines in world war 2. A-and in this day and age, soldiers get help for all of the things they have been through. Andy, you've been through so much, but you died, you've been through more than a lot of us have. You can't keep going on the way you are because I'm afraid you won't make it out," he said softly, looking at me with his blue eyes.

When I didn't say anything, he nodded his head carefully, not wanting to push. "I won't be staying in the compound. It has too many memories. Im going to go into the public and help with aid around new york. You might not see me for a while, at least until after Tony leaves. I don't want to cause anymore arguments," he told me, and I nodded my head slowly.

It didn't take him long before he stood up and left me in the room alone once more. Around 15 minutes later I got out of bed, stretching my limbs, unsure for how long I was out for.

I wandered around the compound until I found Nat in the kitchen with a mug of coffee in front of her untouched and cold. I didn't know what to say so I did the best thing I could. Humor.

"Steve thinks I'm a suicide risk. Which is quite funny because I've been making jokes about that since I first met him," I laughed, but she cut me off with a very serious, "is he right? Are you?" She questioned. Her tone was stone cold, like she was trying to take her emotions out of the situation.

I took a deep breath and sat in the chair opposite her. "I definitely was. When we first met, Hydra had done so much to me I felt it was easier to be gone. But then I met you. And you gave me a will to live. And then Wanda came along and showed me that with love I had family and that I could have a family. But now she's gone it's like- it's like everyone around me dies. Something happened to me when I died, like a voice in my head telling me I had to protect Wanda, and I couldn't even do that. So yes, my mental health isn't great, I don't think any of ours is. And although it may feel like I'd be better off dead, I can't die. I can't die because I have too much to live for." I explained, Nat began to say something but I cut her off.

"Wait. I need to say it all. Get it all out. Nat, I want it all with you. We got married in the most perfect wedding. We talked about kids. And with all of this bad happening, I've been scared. Scared that either one of us will cut off our emotions from the other. Scared that our future is now completely stopped because both you and I are going to be so focused on getting everyone back even with no hope. When do we stop searching and carry on with our lives?" I gulped, afraid of what she was going to say.

"I love you. With everything in my being I love you. Our lives won't be stopping for this. But we both need to be okay mentally. Rea, I don't ever want to hear you talking about wishing you were dead. Even if it was just in the moment, it kills me to think about losing you, we've all lost too much and right now we only have each other. We can't lose that," she explained. I nodded my head, wiping yet another tear from my eye.

"We won't stop looking," I whispered, and she shook her head slowly. "We can't. But we also won't stop our lives, Rea," she assured me. I felt a small sense of relief that she wasn't going to give up on me. "We'll get the help we need," I nodded my head. "We're gonna get them back." I added. And finalised with. "And we're not gonna stop loving each other. No matter what." Nat finally leaned forward and placed her forehead on mine, I closed my eyes and hummed, basking in the feeling of her comfort. She really was my everything.
