Your heart starts to sink to your stomach. This is what Evan meant. The room goes dark once more, then a spotlight turns on in front of you, Evan standing underneath it.
"I TOLD YOU TO WATCH HIM. ITS TOO LATE."
He screams at you, you could feel your heart beating with fear.
"No, there's still time!"
As soon as you walk away the room becomes lit and the party continues.
You almost make your way to the hallway when you hear Henry calls out to you.
"Could my lovely assistant come up on stage for a card trick?" He says with a cartoon-ish tone, aiming the attention on you.
You stand there frozen. You needed to get to the back room.
"Not now Fredbear! I have to fetch Springbonnie from his nap!"
"Alrighty then, go get our sleepy friend!"
The kids in the smaller crowd cheer as they hear Springbonnie is going to appear.
You quickly jog to the back room. You put your hand in the doorknob but you couldn't get it open.
You try to knock it down with your weight but it still wouldn't budge. You could feel tears start to form in your eyes.
"No.." You rest your head on the door. "I'm too late."
"Too late for what?"
You quickly quickly around, it was William in his Springbonnie suit.
He was looking down at you with empty eyes.
"Nothing." You say with defeat.
"Come now, y/n." He rests his hand on your shoulder. You willingly walk with him back to the party room.
While walking you could slowly feel your heart cracking. You could almost feel your heart shattering.
"There he is!" Henry says, making the children scream with excitement.
"Hey there kids!" William shouts, making his way up the stage. "It's your favorite bunny!"
They start to sing their next song.
Tears start to roll down your cheeks. You've failed to watch him.
You snap out of it as you hear a women panicking.
"Where is she?!" She yells, looking through the crowd. Other mothers start looking for their own.
"Susie?!" One shouts.
"Fredrick?!" Another shouts.
The party stops and everyone starts to scramble, looking for the children.
One parent calls the police.
Once the police arrives, they first try to calm down the mothers.
"We'll send some policemen to search for them, they must have wondered out of the diner somwhere." One of the policemen tries to assure them.
The women calmed down.
The diner was closed once again.
This was a very tiring day.
You make your way home.
"Scarlett.." You remember what you said to her this morning. You felt really bad about it.
You park Scarlett's car in the driveway. When you get out of the car you realized you haven't talked to Lincoln for a while. His car has been in his driveway for a long time.
You wanted to see how he was doing.
You walk up his porch. Then knock on his door but when you did the door creaked open.
You slighlty open it. The house smelt horrendous.
You cover the lower half of your face with your shirt.
You close the door behind you.
"Lincoln?" You call out. "It's y/n, I'm just popping in to see how you're doing."
You walk up the stairs.
You stand in front of the door that you assumed was his bedroom.
You place your hand on the doorknob, before you could open it you could feel a small hand on top of your hand.
You look to Evan.
"Don't open the door." He calmly says.
"Evan, I need to see if he's okay." You turn the doorknob anyway.
You open it.
Lincoln was on the floor.
Skipper was next to him, whimpering and cuddling next to him.
"Lincoln!" You run to him then turn him over on his back.
There was one slit in his throat.
You put your hand over your mouth.
"Lincoln.." More tears roll down your face.
You rest your head on his chest.
"I didn't even get to know you."
You get your phone out then call the police.
Time skip
The police arrives and asks you questions. They then take away the body.
Skipper sits by you, resting his head on your leg.
"It'll be okay Skipper." You say, rubbing his head. "I'll take care of you."
You sit on the porch waiting to be interrogated some more.
You hear Scarlett's front door opens and close.
"Y/n? Why are the police here?"
She walks down the porch stairs and makes her way to you, her face has a shocked expression when she sees how puffy your eyes are.
She sits by you, and pets Skipper.
"Lincoln um..passed away."
"I'm so sorry.." She opens her arms to you. You quickly hug her.
As you cry she softly rocks you in her arms and puts her hand on your head.
"You're okay.." She whispers.
A minute or two goes by and she gets up and goes to one of the officers.
"Are you done here? Can I take her inside?"
He nods, she then takes you inside. Skipper goes in too.
"Let's get you to bed." You nod your head.
She leads you to your bed. When you get settled in she sits on the side of your bed then gives you a soft kiss on the forehead.
"I'm sorry about this morning, I didn't mean to make you upset. "
You sit up.
"No I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."
Skipper gets up on the bed and lays by you. You pat his head.
"It's alright, you we're probably stressed out."
Skipper whines, slipping his head underneath Scarlett's hand.
"But it's okay, we got this big boy now!" She puts her hands on each side of his face and squishes it. Then rubs her nose on his.
You both giggle.
"Yeah, I feel bad though. He lost his best friend." You rest your hand on his head.
"Yeah, but you should get to bed." She gives you another hug before heading towards the door.
"Scarlett."
She turns around to you.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
She gives you a smile.
"Goodnight, y/n."
She closes the door behind her.
You get comfortable again, Skipper comes up to you and rests his head on your stomach.
You both fall asleep.
11:34 pm
You could hear Skipper whining. You open your eyes to see him at the end of your bed looking at something.
You sit up, your eyes adjusts to the dark.
"Lincoln?" Just like Evan his injury was visible. He was just standing there in front of your bed, looking at you with terrified eyes.
He slowly gets on your bed, then looks out the window.
He looks back at you then points to it.
You get on your knees then look out of it too.
You could see William's car pulling into his driveway.
He gets out of his car then goes to the trunk. He opens it then takes out two trash bags, holding one in each hand. He drags them to his front door.
"No..William.."
You quickly get out of bed, you pause then looks back at Lincoln.
"Skipper will be okay linc, don't worry."
He nods his head then slowly disappears with a slight smile on his face.
You quickly go to your door and open it, then you run to Scarlett's room.
You open the door then go to wake her up.
"Scarlett!" You shout, waking her up.
"What what? What happened?" She sits up.
"I need you to get 911 ready."
"What why?" She grabs her phone off of her nightstand.
"I'm going to the house across the street, I saw something very suspicious and I need you to look out the window, if you see anything going on while I'm there call them."
"Alright." She quickly gets up from her bed and you both go downstairs.
You open the blinds then open the front door.
Scarlett gets 911 ready.
You run to William's house.
You run up the porch stairs then open the front door.
The living room was empty, you hear the garage door open.
"Y/n!" You hear William shout. "I'm so glad you're here."
"What did you do." You plainly ask.
"I succeeded, thats what I did."
He slowly walks to you.
Scarlett notices him.
"William, where are those kids?" You ask, backing away from him.
He grabs two needles out of his pocket.
"Right here." He gives you a proud smile.
He puts them back.
"I did this for us you know."
He puts his hands on both sides of your face.
"You're so beautiful.."
Your heart still beats for him. You still love him. But you feel betrayed.
He takes one of the needles out.
"This one is yours, my love."
He slips it in your back pocket.
He takes the other one out.
"This one is mine."
He puts that one on your other back pocket.
"Take yours when I leave, then give me mine when I come back."
You hear cars pulling up. Red and blue lights fill the room.
"Police open up!"
You ignore them. You just look up at William's eyes. The eyes you fell in love with. The eyes of the man you thought you could trust.
The police men busts down the door. Then quickly putting William in handcuffs.
"William.."
"Yes?"
"You disgust me.."
He looks down at you with a smile. He leans in and gives you a passionate kiss.
It was different from the other times.
This time it was not full of love.
It was full of insanity.
They take him away as you lean on the door frame.
He keeps looking at you while they put him in the police car.
"I'll come back! I'll always come back for you my delicate flower!"
You hear him say, it was muffled but it still sent chills down your spine.
The police car drives away.
But you'll always remember that smile.
And those silver eyes.
