During the 'War of the Usurpers', it was said and done that all Targaryens were to be killed, diminshing the Targaryen Dynasty. Except of course the only surving ones. Viserys, Daenerys, and Naerys Targaryen. While it had been Daenerys and Viserys that had managed to escape to Essos, Naerys had been the some what fortunate one. Being kidnapped and put on execution to then shown mercy by a man that discussed agreements to let Naerys live. Being brought to Winterfell and married off to a bastard was the highest of humiliation a man like Robert Baratheon could think of for a girl he despised simply for her last name and blood that ran through her veins. While a man with no dignity thought that being married off to a bastard at such a young age would bring the Targaryen name shame, it never did. Not for Naerys, she didn't exactly wanted to be married but it was better than being dead. More specifically since the boy she was wedded to had more respect towards her than any other person she met. But at last not every perfect moment lasts forever. Desperate to get rid of the both of them, for being a husband's reminder of infidelity, and for being a Targaryen. It was then the marriage was 'annulled'. He was sent to Castle Black, and she was sent to Essos to get murdered only she wasn't alone in Essos.
