"The queen would like to see you, your highness." A guard says with a bow. "Oh really? Lead the way." The guard takes you to the door of Queen Frigga's study. A place you are very familiar with, you spent a good portion of your life behind the large mahogany doors. You go to knock but she opens the door. "You wanted to see me Queen Frigga?" You say with a curtsy causing her to crack a smile. "Yes please come in. I figured with the men in their meetings we could do the same. Tea will be coming soon." She says as she gestures for you to sit in an open chair. "If there is any advice you'd like here is your chance." Frigga hums as she sits down across from you. "Oh wow I actually do have many questions. Is it ok if I take notes so I don't forget?" "Of course sweet child. Here use my stationary." She hands you a few sheets of her official letterhead paper and a pen.
Servants freshen your tea as you talk for hours. You've filled 3 sheets of paper front and back with all the advice she's given. "Now above all else be yourself. Don't try to fill the shoes of a previous queen. You've always had a gift for leadership don't hide it." "Thank you. It means a lot." You say as her hand cups your cheek. "You know I always considered you my daughter even if you weren't really mine. So don't hesitate to ask for help if you ever need it." "That's funny. I always thought of you as a bonus mother." "Thank you darling that's very sweet." You kiss her hand before a servant reminds you it's time to get ready for dinner.
While you were with Frigga. Enit and Hugo were hard at work. "You almost had it. Try it again from the top." She says as she stops the music. "I though you said you were bringing help." Hugo pants, he has been dancing for the last hour non stop. "Yes they should be here soon." Just as she finished speaking the door creaks open. "Am I still needed?" Loki asks as he peaks his head into the room. "Very much needed your highness." Enit says with a bow. "Alright. What can I do for you lady Enit?" "I'm teaching my brother in law Asgard's traditional dance but he is struggling. I asked you for help since you're the best dancer in the realm. Well besides my sister but this is supposed to be a surprise for her." "A surprise for (Y/N) you say? Well I guess I could help with that. Maybe a spell?" Loki suggests causing Hugo to make a face. "No spells please. I want to do this under my own ability. That way I can dance with her back home too." "Ah what a noble king." Enit mildly teases with an eye roll. Loki let's a smirk creep on his face letting her know he was proud of her sassing Hugo when he couldn't. "Alright well let's get started." Loki says as he shapeshifts into you. Hugo is taken aback while Enit try's to hold in a laugh. "How did you do that?" "My magic. Did you know know I'm a shapeshifter?" Loki says in your voice causing more confusion to wash over Hugo's face. "No I didn't. How accurate is your magic? I can see your face and voice but is there any other details you can copy?" "Oh yes I can copy everything. See." Loki says pulling up his shirt to expose your stomach. "Recognize this scar? She got that from falling out of a tree and on to a branch. And she has two freckles on her chest right down the middle." He pulls up his shirt farther to show the freckles that sit in the valley of your breasts. "How do you know what's on her chest like this?" Hugo asks arching his brow. Loki realized he may have got himself in trouble by showing off. Something that happens often. "She's always had those. Probably seen them when our mothers would put them in the bath together." Enit says trying not to let Hugo know you and Loki were sexually involved with each other. "Right we'd take baths together as babies. That's how I know they are there." Loki says nervously hoping Hugo will buy it. "Anyway let's get started we don't have much time left before dinner." Enit says trying to quickly change the subject.
Loki and Hugo take their places and Enit starts the music. Everything goes well till the switching of the partners portion of the dance. "I think I just need more people around to get used to the flow of changing parters." "Oh I can help with that." Loki laughs as he makes copies of himself. "Just don't touch them or they will disappear. They aren't solid." "Goodness what else can your magic do?" "Quite a lot but we don't have time for details. Let's start again." The music plays and the dance begins. Hugo finally gets the hang of partner switching. It's the last switch of the dance and he is surprised when a Loki grabs his arm and continues the dance. In the madness that is a traditional Asgardian dance Loki took the chance to change back into himself. This Loki didn't disappear when he was touched. With the music ending and the men slowdown to catch their breaths there seemed to be a crowd that formed. Your mother and queen Frigga came to see how Hugo was doing. They including Enit clapped and cheered at a job well done. "Marvelous you two. (Y/N) will be so pleased." Your mother says as the men separate. "You think so? I hope I don't mess it up tonight." Hugo says as he dabs his sweaty face with a towel. "You'll be just fine. But you better head to your room to freshen up before dinner." Your mom says as she walks out with him and Enit. Frigga and Loki stay behind for a moment. "What you did for king Hugo was very nice my son." "I didn't do it for him. Just want (Y/N) to be happy."
A maid was helping you pin up your hair when Hugo came in. "You look like you just won first prize at the village festival. What happened?" You ask as he kisses your cheek. "Oh nothing just a really good meeting. Hopping in the shower before dinner." "We don't have much time so be quick about it." You say as he walks into the bathroom. He gives an affirmative hum so you know he heard you. You saved your favorite and fanciest dress for your last dinner on Asgard. Beautifully made Westland isles style gown you commissioned from a local girl back home. The maid was lacing you into the dress when Hugo came out of the shower. "Oh you're wearing that one? Are you trying to give me a nosebleed?" He teases as he takes in how beautiful you look. "Is it too much for you my king? Do I distract? Am I seared into your mind that you my never forget?" You coo as you give a little spin. "All of those and so much more my queen. I'd kiss you right now but I'm sure you don't want me dripping on you." "Correct now get a move on." You say as you give his butt a pat.
"That's an interesting dress. Is it of Western isles fashion?" Loki asks during your meal. "Yep. A talented girl made it for me. Do you like it?" "Of course. You could make anything look great even a paper bag." "You're such a tease. Hugo was simply floating on air when he came back from meetings. Where they that good?" "I suppose you could say that. How was your meeting with mother?" "Excellent. Did she tell you about it?" "Nope. Just read your mind." He chuckles earning an eye roll. "You know that could be a punishable offense now that I am a queen. Searching my mind without consent. Shall I hang you from your toes or parade you around the kingdom and have citizens throw rotten food at you?" "Really (Y/N) you and I both know you'd never have the heart to do that to me. Your best friend. After all we've been through." He practically purrs in your ear. You couldn't help but laugh as you shove him back to his place.
Frigga and Hugo look up as you laugh. "I wonder what he said to her." "Best not to. He may be my son but I dare not try to understand the complexities that is Loki." Frigga says causing Hugo to try and hide a smirk. "So what is your next stop on your royal tour?" "I honestly couldn't tell you. (Y/N) is the schedule keeper. She tells me where to go and what to pack. But we are heading home first to tend to things and sort out what to bring. Speaking of, could you send (Y/N) home with this recipe it's probably my favorite dish I've had here." "It's actually your mother in law's recipe so I'm sure (Y/N) knows it by heart." Frigga laughs before taking a sip of wine.
With dinner finished and cleared from the table Odin stood up from his seat. Everyone fell silent. It was a very rare occasion for the all father to speak at dinner like this. He raised his glass and with that you knew he was going to say something special. "Friends, family and our honored guests the king and queen of Westland isles I'd like to thank you all for being here. To the King and Queen may you have very blessing and happiness as you navigate the life of leadership and caretakers of your citizens. May you use the wisdom given to you during your time here. And may you come to your allies whenever in need. Asgard will always come to the aid of the Westland isles. A toast to the king and queen." He says as everyone raises a glass to you and Hugo. "Now to solidify our relationship I'd like to ask queen (Y/N) for a dance." Everyone gasps including yourself. You've never seen Odin dance with anyone else besides Frigga. "I'd be honored all father." You say as you get over your shock. "And I'd like to ask king Hugo for a dance." Frigga says as she rises from her seat. "It would be a pleasure all mother." Hugo says as he takes her hand.
They lead you both to the middle of the room. "Don't worry it's just a waltz." Frigga whispers to Hugo as he positions her in his arms. "Oh good I can do those." He says as the music starts. Odin leads you around the room and you're surprised. You'd never seen him move this fast. "Thank you for the blessing. It really means a lot." "You're welcome my child but I wouldn't say you need it. I know you'll make a great queen and that husband of yours has a good head on his shoulders. Just be sure to guide him in the right direction. I may be all father but I've learned long ago it takes a strong queen to really get things done." With the dance complete you all bow to your partners. Odin and Frigga return to their seats but you're swept away by Loki.
You can see the disappointment in Hugo's eyes after Loki took you. You mouthed sorry and he gave a reassuring smile. "You stole me from my husband you know." "Did I? Well he can dance with you any other time he wants. This is your last night with me." "I guess you're right." "I'm always right little one. And with that being said you should come to my chambers tonight, for old times sake." He coos as he plants a hard kiss on your cheek. "In your dreams tall one." "Eh worth a shot. I honestly would respect you a little less if you agreed." "I know but you'd still love me." "Forever and ever." He says with a sigh as the music changes.
With the beginnings of the music for the traditional dance you line up with your sisters and other ladies of court. You expect to see Loki across from you but you find Hugo instead. "I taught him how to do it. With help from prince Loki." Enit says as she takes your hand and starts the dance. You couldn't help but grin when you watch Hugo dance. You were so surprised and happy he could share this with you. "Surprise." He says once you're in his arms. "Thank you so much. I love you." You laugh as he spins you around and you both clap. At the end of the dance you end up in Hugo's arms. "You never cease to amaze me." "And I'm in constant wonder of you." He laughs before kissing your lips. Someone clears their throat behind you and you turn to find Enit and Loki. "I believe a thank you is in order." Enit teases before you pounce on her with a tight hug. "Thank you thank you thank you dear sister!" You could hear her wheeze after you let go. "And a thank you to you my prince." You say as you kiss Lokis cheek hard. "Anything for you. You know that (Y/N)." He laughs as he hugs you tight. "Good job out there." Enit says to Hugo as she gives him a hug. "Yes nice work." Loki says to him as they shake hands.
With morning comes your return home. Your family, Odin, Frigga and Loki were all at the bifrost to see you off. "Remember what we talked about. Whenever you need a brake send them over to me." You say as you hug Jasper. "I'll remember sister." You move on to your mother and father. "Well this is it for a while kid. Be sure to write when you can." Your father says as he takes your cheek in his hand. "Of course I will. I also want you guys to come visit. I'd like to show you how I run things." "Oh I'm sure it's ship shape. We'll miss you dearest. We love you so much." Your mom says as you hug her tight. Next is Odin and Frigga. You and Hugo bow to them. "Thank you for being such hospitable hosts. We had a wonderful time." Hugo says as Odin gives his forearm a squeeze. "Thank you all father." You say as you kiss each other on the cheeks. Hugo kisses Frigga's hand but she pulls you into a hug. "May you have every blessing and happiness my darling." She says before kissing your cheeks. Last but not least you stand in front of Loki. You can see the tears in his eyes that he's trying to fight off. Hugo thanks him and grips his forearm before giving you two some privacy. "Hello tall one." "Hello little one. Back to the kingdom that stole you away from me I see." "Seems so but I'll still write and maybe now you can come visit me. How does that sound?" "Well I was hoping you'd say you're going to stay here with me but I guess that will do." He says as his voice cracks and a tear rolls down his cheek. "Oh no crying. You'll make me cry." You say as you quickly pull him into your arms. You hold him tight and quietly hush him. Once he composes himself he pulls back from your hug. "You better go now before I cry again. Safe travels and many blessings and happiness to you my queen. I love you (Y/N)." "Thank you my prince. I'll always love you Loki." With that you exchange cheek kisses and return to Hugo's side.
With one last hug to Heimdall you both stand in front of the bifrost portal. You both wave goodbye before the portal activated and set you back on the ground of your kingdom.
