Vicki's POV
We are in the butt crack of nowhere, in the mountains somewhere. Stefan is carrying Ray while Nik and I walk beside him.
My legs are hurting so much already, I don't do exercise even if I am a vampire.
I turn to Nik with a pout, looking at him with puppy dog eyes.
His eyes widen. "No way. Not doing it."
I raise my eyebrows and cross my arms. He sighs and crouches down for me to hop on his back. I do so with a grin on my face. We keep walking.
"You okay? Is Ray getting heavy?" He asks Stefan after a few minutes.
"I'm fine, is Vicki getting heavy?" He responds with a smirk.
I scoff. "I am not heavy!" I protest.
Nik chuckles. "Victoria is not heavy, just annoying."
I smack the back of his head and they both chuckle.
I put my head on his boulder and doze off for a bit until we get to the camp. Nik puts me down and I sit on a log.
They notice us and Ray. Stefan tosses him onto the ground.
A woman runs up to his 'dead' body. "Ray! Oh my god. What's going on?" She looks up at Stefan. "Who are you?"
Nik goes by his side. "The important question is who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus."
The women stands back up fearfully. "You're the hybrid." She states.
He smirks. "You've heard of me. Fantastic."
A bit later, Ray wakes up.
"Excellent timing Ray. Very dramatic."
"What's happening to me?"
Nik looks to our pal. "Stefan."
He stands up and looks around. "Are any of you human? Your friend here, he needs human blood to complete his transition to vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die." Nobody answers. "Doesn't take much." He tries to persuade.
Nik stands up. "Anyone? A boyfriend, a girlfriend along for the ride?" He notices a blue eyed man. "You."
Oh yeah, I can smell him now.
Nik speeds towards him, biting into his arm and bringing him towards Ray.
I hold him down and turn towards Ray. "If you don't drink it, Ray, I will." I let my veins show as I smell his blood. "Problem is, I won't stop."
Nik holds onto the human's girlfriend. "It's the new order, sweetheart. You join us or you die."
She snarls back at him. "I'd rather die than be a vampire."
"Wrong choice." He feeds her his blood and snaps her neck as Ray feeds from the human. Flashing his hybrid face, Nik says, "Okay, who's next?"
He turns everyone in camp while I go back to sit on my log with the human. I feed him some of my blood, after I get a taste of course.
Stefan and Nik are leaning up against trees, watching over Ray.
"So is this your master plan? Build an army of hybrid slaves?"
"No, not slaves. Soldiers, comrades."
"For what war, might I ask?"
"Oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, Stefan. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick the fight."
"What makes you so sure that they'll be loyal?"
"Well it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team. That's something you'll learn once you shake that horribly depressive chip off your shoulder."
Stefan chuckles and stands up fully. "That's why you're, uh, you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment?"
Ray starts choking on blood, he's shivering. Nik grabs his head and examines him.
"You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know."
"Something's wrong."
"I told you."
Nik snaps his head to me. "There's still time. If not we'll speak to Gloria."
A little while later while the human is feeding the others, Ray runs away and Nik has Stefan go and get him.
He's going to get bit.
All of the others are having the same symptoms. Blood is pouring out of their eyes and ears. They are shaking like crazy and some are dying already.
They are going crazy.
They start to lunge at Nik and I. We have to rip their hearts out before they can get to us.
That bitch with the human boyfriend bites me but I quickly put my hand in her chest before taking out her heart.
I look down at the bite. Maybe I can try something.
I place my other hand over it and focus on sucking the magic up. There's a red glow before I take my hand off to reveal a perfectly healthy arm.
Thankfully Nik didn't see, otherwise he would be worried.
When Stefan comes back without Ray, Nik brushes it off and gives him his blood to heal the bite.
"It appears you two are the only comrades I have left."
