Narrator
Minji was packing her bags to go to America. She had been accepted to an acting program at NYU in New York.
This was her last week at school. She wouldn't even be attending her undergrad graduation because school started earlier in America.
- Kim Minji -
It was the Monday of my last week of school and y/n was still not talking to me because they were upset that I was leaving.
It's not like we're that close.
We were classmates in High School and then drifted away because I took a year off before starting college.
But, I was still sad that y/n was just ignoring me on my last week here. We had become so closed over the last few years and now they're just acting like I'm a stranger.
"Ms. Kim?" I got sucked out of my thought when my professor asked me something.
"Ms. Kim? Are you excited to go to America?" My professor asked st the end of class.
"Yes, professor. Thank yoy for your letter of recommendation!" I said bowing in gratitude.
I then exited the classroom and noticed y/n with a group of friends.
"Why is your smile so cute?" I asked in my head as I watch y/n smile and laugh along with their friends.
I walked over to my locker when I suddenly bumped into someone....
It was y/n.
I bowed and they bowed back not saying a word then started to walk away.
"You're really gonna be mad at me for leaving?" I asked.
Y/n-ah turned to look at me and answered, "I'm not mad because you're leaving."
"Then what is?" I asked in turn.
"I'm mad because I was the last one to find out," Y/n answered me then walked away before I could say anything else.
"You were the last to know because It broke my heart to tell you," I said in my head as I watch them walk away.
The week went on and y/n continued to ignore me.
On my last day, I slipped a note into y/n's locker and made my way home to make sure I had everything I needed for my flight tomorrow.
On my way home.... I bumped into y/n.
We were face to face.
Neither of us said a word.
We just looked at each other.
Y/n-ah then started to walk pass me.
"Why don't you want me to go?" I asked as they pass by.
Y/n suddenly stopped.
"Because you could do the same thing here," Y/n answered.
"You want to stop me from chasing my dream because you think the opportunities are the same here?" I asked in frustration.
"I'm not stopping you from anything. That's why I chose to let you be," Y/b answered.
"You don't want me to go. Just say it!" I yelled in anger.
"I can't," Y/n answered then kept on walking.
I rushed home and slammed the door to my room.
"AHHHHHHRRHHHHAAHH!!" I yelled into my pillow.
"Why are you acting like such a jerk!?!" I scream at the my lock screen, which was a picture of me and y/n in our high school uniforms.
The next morning, I called my parents to say goodbye and then took a taxi to the airport.
Just as I arrived to the airport, I heard someone yell my name.
- Y/N POV -
"Don't be an idiot!" I scolded myself as I looked at a picture of Minji on my phone.
I sighed and go up from my bed. I grabbed my jacket and then got in the car to drive to the airport.
I ran all over the airport trying to find Minji but I couldn't find her anywhere.
I was about to give up, when I saw her get of a taxi.
I started making my way towards her but she was moving to fast so I yelled her name.
"MIIINNNJIIIIII!!!"
She turned to look at me and gave me the sweetest smile.
I walked over to her a bit out of breathe from running around and said,
"I don't want you to go."
"Minji, I have been in love with you for as long as I can remember. I have been in love with you since the day I laid eyes on you.
I love everything about you. You have a hold on my heart that I cannot break even if I wanted to and there have been times that I wanted to.
It has been overwhelming and humbling.... and even painful at times but I could not stop loving you anymore than I could stop breathing! I am hopelessly, irretrievably, in love with you. More than you'll ever know...."
I confessed to her.
I knew there was no use in telling her these things but this was possible my last chance to get this feeling I've been holding onto for years.
Minji stepped closer to me and just smiled.
"Help me with my bags?" She asked in a sweet voice.
"O-okay," I answered her stuttering a bit.
I helped her check into her flight, wondering why she hadn't said anything about my confession.
I walked her over to TSA and she turned to me before getting in line.
"Y/n?" Minji said.
"Mhm?" I hummed in response.
"So, you know how NYU only accepts 3 applicants each year into my program?" She asked.
"Yes, of course. That's why I'm so proud of you for it!" I answered her.
"Well, I convinced the NYU board and our professors to consider you for next year. That's if you'll take the opportunity," Minji said caressing my cheek.
I was in shock and didn't really need to know what to say.
"Do you think you'll do it?" Minji asked.
"What? Yes, of course! Thank you so much!" I responded pulling her into a loving hug.
We pulled away from each other.
Minji then caressed my cheek again and leaned in to kiss my lips. I kissed her back but it was over before I knew it.
"See you in a year?" Minji asked.
I gave her an eye smile and nodded.
"I'll call you when I land, so don't fall asleep okay?" Minji said then waved me goodbye as she got in the TSA line.

A year later and y/n made it into the program. Their flight had just landed at JFK Airport.
Minji was patiently wait for y/n to board off the plane.
"Come on, come on. I want to see your stupid face already!" Minji kept on thinking to herself.
Suddenly, Minji saw y/n-ah walk out their flights gate and she ran up to them. Jumping into y/n's arm.
Luckily, y/n-ah caught her and they both laughed.
"Oh my god! I missed you so much!" Minji exclaimed as y/n-ah spun get around.
"I miss you too, Minji!" Y/n responded.
They both pulled away from each other then stared into each other's eyes. Soon enough, they both started to lean in and kissed.
