If your love was a frog...

I'd pin it to the board

and stare. Scrutinizing

every line, every action and reaction;

as I poked, prodded and tested; 

taking care not to damage 

the delicate vessels, taking care 

not to get under the skin 

too much, anyway. I'd shine a light deep

into it's eyes, and shock

the poor thing till it either 

stayed, or ran away.
