What felt like many hours later my eyes heavily pulled back and opened. The room was dark, I couldn’t see basically anything, I closed my eyes tight and then opened them again my eyes adjusting slowly.
Scanning the room I didn’t get far as the first thing I saw was Will, his chin was on the edge of the bed and his face was buried into the beds mattress. His arm that was visible was out, following it I realized it was sitting on my shoulder, practically bare as I only now had my white singlet on, his thumb was doing circular motions along my skin and as soon as I realized my heart began to thump and my skin reacted.
Reaching out tentatively I let my fingers fall into his hair “Will” I whispered softly.
His head snapped up and instantly his face fell into relief. But barely noticeable there was a hint of anxiety. He attempted to smile, weakly.
“Will” I began again my voice still low “what happened?”
He grabbed my hand that was in his hair and so softly he cradled it to his face. My breath instantly became uneven. “Tanz,” he whispered “What do you remember?”
I blinked numerous times until I spoke “A flash of brown, you.” I said smiling faintly.
His shoulders slumped, relaxed. “So the injection didn’t work.” He murmured to himself.
“Wait, what injection?” I asked my voice not so soft as I grew alarmed almost practically flinging up out of bed but I liked where I was, where Will was.
Will smiled weakly “I'll explain. Don’t worry it’s okay darlin’.” Will cooed his thumb again soothing me as it stroke the hand he still held to his cheek. He looked tired, sleepy. “Well probably by now what you gathered about three hours or so ago was that we cannot tell others about our true identity. That’s why I never told you, it’s breaking an oath in our world.” I sat still, silent, waiting. “So they discovered somehow that I was close to you and they suspected I'd tell.”
I couldn’t keep quiet anymore “Who did they figure it out?” I asked intrigued as if it was someone else’s crazy interesting life and not mine.
“Gabe and Ty were discussing your remark from the other night, they were talking about how they worried that I'd let you in or give you a hint; like that book. They weren’t going to tell, but Grant overheard. He told dad and they showed up as you remembered.”
My mouth dropped “That was your dad and brother?” I spluttered. Some family introduction.
He smiled weakly as if he could read my thoughts “They were just following orders, what the law is. If somebody finds out there is an injection hat deals with your recent memories; clears them or more drastic and morbid measures – depending on the amount of time they’ve known – we have to kill them.”
I tried to close my mouth but I was just so stunned. So Will hadn’t told me because he was trying to protect me? Not because he didn’t like me. Man did I feel stupid. “So,” I said numbly “I had an injection?” I asked his thumb keeping me calm as my inner self jumped upside and down like crazy literally freaked.
“Yea, you did. Grant leapt and knocked you over and you hit your head against a rock, and he tried to inject you.” He pulled my hand away from his face and turned it over and there on the back of my wrist was a slight red mark, even pink; where the needle went. “I pulled him off and tried to suck out any of the liquid that may have got in.” his fingers drummed along the back of my hand.
“What made them stop?” I whispered watching him as he looked down at my wrists.
“We have stacks of myths, legends, stories.” He murmured still not looking at m. “There are numerous, some true, some to our knowledge false. This one legend hadn’t been heard for many years, century’s maybe. I myself didn’t think it was possible, but your answers from before and my own evidence…and just what you do to me.” He all but groaned.
I was beginning to lose patient “What is it?” I murmured, pressing for all the truth to be shed now that I found one part.
“The theory of soul mates.” He said finally looking up to catch my eyes, his soft and inviting eyes staring back into mine, a vortex. My heart skipped a beat and my exhale was shaky.
“Now before I explain any of this” he murmured “I'll give you a choice.” I didn’t understand why he needed to elaborate on the theory of soul mates; it was quite self explanatory I thought. “I'll give you a chance to leave.” He said exhaling deeply as he sat up and looked away, I sat up instantly myself. “It is not safe. At all. It could and most likely will put you in danger. It is not healthy so you can go now and I'll never bother you again. In fact it’d be best if you did go. I'll never bother you and you won’t be in danger at all.” He was babbling but it was easy to understand where he was going, my eyesight was becoming vague and I didn’t know why until a tear slid slowly over my lips. “I think that’s what I'll do, I'll take you home. I should have left the injection in, for you.” He turned to me and instantly his face fell. “Tanz what is it?” he said edging himself onto the edge of the bed.
I closed my eyes tight and gasped at the invisible knife stabbing my heart. “You.” I exhaled sharply in sobs as he turned to face me on the bed, leaning over and into me, a breath away. “You don’t want me to be your soul mate?” I sobbed heavily.
My sobbing came to an abrupt halt as his hands reached for my face and he murmured in a low moan “Oh god yes.” And then he pressed his lips to mine.
That is when I exploded.
A fire ignited all across my body with the soft and yet passionate kiss, my body burned with a fierce passion and my heart galloped as my whole self came to life. I cried out softly against his lips. Slowly I sank back on to the bed pulling him with me. My body instantly reacted; my heart thrashed and my body erupted with a sensation a lot like pins and needles but it held an exotic touch, like thrum. Our lips were moving slowly against one another that it progressed so much faster and became so much more serious. My hands tangled in his hair pulling through it and tugging softly as his still held my face delicately still in his hands. I put every ounce of my love into that kiss, bathing in that touch.
His lips left mine and crawled down my jaw line, a whimper of loss left my lips and Will moaned “It’s okay darlin’, it’s okay.” He cooed in my ear. He left my lips already bruised and my breath gone as I gasped beneath him aching for every inch of him. Will supported his weight with ease, as no surprise, and his hands still held my face softly. “I’ve wanted you so bad.” He growled against my skin inhaling deeply, tickling my skin.
My hand went to the back of his neck pulling through his hair. The only word I could say was “Will.” And it summed up everything as I said it breathlessly. Will was my everything.
His lips crawled their way back up to my lips and again our lips moved slowly together until it became faster and more erotic. My heart thrashed my breath quick and hot. Instantaneously he lifted me up, I giggled and somehow I was suddenly on top of him straddling his waist as we both sat up.
His fingers ran down the my cheek, my body tingling as I let my breath out raggedly, our gazes holding one another’s as I looked up at him. My hands reached out and grabbed his face as I stretched to place my lips over his, my body pressed up against him tight making him groan. Tentatively as I took advantage of that I let my tongue peak through his parting lips and he hissed in pleasure gripping me tighter, his hands curled in my hair as I wiggled closer. Then suddenly Will’s tongue was plunging into my mouth and that’s when I truly combusted. Will’s taste hit me hard and suddenly I was dehydrated and beyond thirsty, he was my life substance and I greedily sucked on his tongue as his tongue stroked and tasted every inch of me. I opened my mouth as wide as possible wanted him to discover and feel every inch of me, I wanted to taste him, I wanted him. I was a starved beast and the kiss was becoming so heated and full on I didn’t know where I started and Will began.
I could feel Will’s heart and it was sprinting, my hands left his face and softly and slowly trailed down, a ripple ran through him as he moaned softly. My hands edged around the bottom of his shirt and then I pulled at his shirt and then edged it up, up his chest. Our lips parted as he lifted up his arms for me to pull his shirt off, so slowly. Grabbing the shirt with impatience he chucked it behind him, I giggled as my lips pressed to the centre of his chest. Will’s head fell forward and buried into my hair as he breathed raggedly his hands on my hips, his hot breath hitting me. I was in awe over Will; his chest wasn’t over buff but oh was he sculpted to perfection. My lips drew kissed up his chest until I kissed him under his throat. I ran my tongue cheekily along his soft and tanned skin and Will shivered pressing me even tighter to him.
My lips carried off down his neck along to his shoulders, his body instantly tensed and I understood why, his shoulders had four or so cuts, deep and roughly done along his shoulder. I gasped “Will?”
He kissed the top of my head tenderly stirring my hormones more, he nuzzled deeper into my hair “It’s my doings. It’s what happens if I break a promise or lie to you, my soul mate.” I must admit my heart fluttered at his words.
“Will they heal?” I asked as I tentatively reached out.
“I'm not sure, they haven’t so far.” He murmured his thumbs stroking my hip in a circular wave.
Without thinking I reached out and kissed each cut separately and tenderly. Pulling back I was relieved and shocked to see their absence. He lifted his head in utter awe and speechless “How did you…?”
I shrugged “I forgive you.” I whispered.
Will’s eyes smoldered as his head dipped and his lips met mine, his hands sat curled around my neck as mine sat limp on his bare chest, the kiss tender and passionate as they molded to mine and moved thoroughly. Will’s hands edged down and tugged at my shirt. He drew it up and along my body and over my head. I shivered with pleasure and he instantly pressed closer to me, his warmth spreading over me. His lips dipped further and kissed down along my neck and along my collar bones, my eyes close instinctively and my body melted against him. I moaned as he licked over an indent and I could feel Will’s smile against my bare skin as he found a weak spot, Will flicked it again and I gasped panting as he left a tender kiss there. I pushed myself tighter to Will my hormones ravishing as I wanted all pure skin, I wanted him as my body throbbed and hammered quickly, my breasts squashed up against Will and he hissed again grinding my hips to his. His lips made their way down further as they reached the curve of my breasts and the top of my bra, I tensed instantly.
“So that’s where yours is.” He murmured happily against my skin.
I nuzzled my face into the curve of his neck “What is?” I murmured my breath ragged.
Will kissed my shoulder tenderly “Your mark.” He murmured his fingers softly playing with my bra strap.
My eyes closed in bliss “I have a cut or infection or something if that’s what you’re getting at.” I whispered.
“Like this?” The excitement full in his voice as he pulled back I blinked at where he indicated because sure enough on the exact same side as mine is and everything there sat a mark just like mine.
I leant in and kissed it, Will shivered. I smiled cheekily before letting my tongue flick his apparent weak spot “Oh god darlin’.” He groaned. Will’s fingers ran down the side of my face leaving a burning trail of fire. “That’s our mark.” He murmured against my forehead as my lips sat pressed against his mark, I mean our mark.
“So will it always hurt? And be inflamed?” I murmured.
He chuckled softly “No.” he pulled back as I blinked up at him; confused.
“Tanze?” I blinked further; we looked at one another deeply, tenderly. My heart swelled. “You mean the world to me and I swear to cherish every breath you take and I must know, will you be my soul mate?”
My lips curved up into a smile “Yes.” I said without another thought.
Almost instantly my mark began to tingle. We both looked down once it finished to tingle, I edged my bra down slightly; I gasped. There a mark sat with a black line that spiraled twisted, it wasn’t huge nor small, it looked like a tattoo but as if I was born with it engrained into my skin.
“It’s beautiful.” I whispered looking up to catch Will’s gaze.
“Like you darlin’, you are absolutely heart stealing beautiful.” He smiled.
I smiled back “I love you.” I whispered. Will’s fingers brushed along my lip as I nuzzled into his chest his arms wrapping protectively around me.
“I love you too darlin’ so much, you are my everything.” He murmured back as he buried his face into my hair, skin against skin. My fingers ran up and along our mark, tracing it as my eyes closed blissfully.
