It's been a few days since the Battle of the Bands and you and the Rainbooms have become the most popular students in Canterlot High since you all stopped the Dazzlings and freed everyone from their control.
No one has seen the Dazzlings since the Battle of the Bands but you had a feeling they would return eventually and you wanted to know why tried to brainwash everyone and what they truly want.
As for Sunset Shimmer, everyone in C.H.S has finally forgave her for her sins and they no longer saw her as the ex-bully queen at all anymore but a girl who wants to do good things and help everyone. Sunset Shimmer couldn't be more happier.
But little does she know that she was about to receive tragic news...
Equestria
In Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia is sitting on her thone while looking at a letter in her hooves.
Princess Celestia: "It's time...Sunset deserves to know the truth about what happened to her parents during her absence." She said as she got up from her throne and was about to leave when her sister enters the room.
Princess Luna: "Sister, where are you going?"
Princess Celestia: "I'm going to Ponyville to meet with Twilight and ask a favour for her."
Princess Luna: "What's the favour?"
Princess Celestia: "I have a letter for Sunset Shimmer that she needs to read."
Princess Luna: "Your former student who currently lives in the Human World? Who's the letter from?"
Princess Celestia: "Her parents."
Princess Luna: "Her parents? The ones who neglected her." She said a little angry at the end, she wasn't happy to hear about Sunset's treatment from her own parents.
Princess Celestia: "Yes but she deserves this letter from her parents, she deserves to know what happened to them."
Princess Luna: "What happened to them?" She asked her sister curiously but when she saw the sad look on her sister's face, she realizes what it means. "Oh...I see. They're..."
Princess Celestia: "Yes and she deserves to know that her parents do care about her."
Princess Luna: "I see...then I will take care of things here."
Princess Celestia: "Thank you Luna, I won't be gone too long." She said and left.
In the Castle of Friendship in Ponyville, Twilight is currently resting on her throne.
Twilight Sparkle: "I didn't think I would go on an adventure so soon after the whole siren incident in the Human World."
Just recently after she and Spike returned to Equestria, Twilight and her friends went to a village called Our Town where everypony has given up their Cutie Marks and replaced them with equal signs. There, Twilight and her friends met the Unicorn who founded and leads the village with a philosophy she believes that true friendship comes from being equal, no more, no less talented than another and that having any special talents of any kinds only lead to disharmony and this is unicorn uses some sort of magic staff to get rid of an pony's Cutie Mark and replaces with it with an equal sign. It turns out the leader of Our Town was a fraud who used make makeup to hide her Cutie Mark and that she was using a spell to remove other ponies' Cutie Marks and when this Unicorn tried to steal the Twilight and friends' Cutie Marks, her plans were thwarted by her followers who abandoned her philosophy and regain their Cutie Marks while the former leader of Our Town disappeared shortly afterwards.
As Twilight relaxes, the door opens and Celestia enters the room.
Twilight Sparkle: "Princess Celestia, what are you doing here?" She asked her mentor.
Princess Celestia: "Twilight, there's a favourite I ask of you."
Twilight Sparkle: "What is it?" She asks as Celestia takes out a letter.
Princess Celestia: "I want you to go to the Human World and deliver this letter to Sunset Shimmer."
Twilight Sparkle: "Who's the letter from?"
Princess Celestia: "Sunset's parents." She revealed which made Twilight's eyes widen.
Twilight Sparkle: "Her parents! The same ones who neglected and abandoned her." She said a little angry.
Princess Celestia: "Twilight, I know your not happy with them after you learned how poorly they treated their daughter but this letter is important and it will tell Sunset what happened to them while she was gone."
Twilight Sparkle: "What happened to them? What exactly happened to Sunset's parents?" She asked, only looked to see Celestia's face in sadness which made her eyes widen and gasp. "You mean..."
Princess Celestia: "Yes Twilight and that's why Sunset needs that letter, they wrote it and gave it to me and asked if I ever saw Sunset again, they want me to give them the letter if they are no longer around. The letter contains evidence to let Sunset know her parents truly care about her so please, Twilight, deliver the letter to Sunset so she knows the truth about her parents." She asked of Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle: "Okay, I will go to the Human World and deliver the letter to Sunset Shimmer."
Princess Celestia: "Thank you Twilight, this means a lot." She said with a smile.
Twilight Sparkle: "Your welcome Princess Celestia, I just need to let my friends know I'm going to the Human World."
Princess Celestia: "Leave that to me Twilight, you go to the Human World."
Twilight Sparkle: "Very well then, I just hope Sunset will be okay when she receives the news." She said and walks off to the crystal mirror while Celestia looks out a window.
Princess Celestia: "Sunset Shimmer...I hope you can forgive your parents once you read that letter." She said.
Human World
It's an Friday afternoon and Sunset Shimmer is in her home, looking through her mail until she reads a letter that makes her sigh.
Sunset Shimmer: "This isn't good...I can only pay rent for one more month and that's it."
When Sunset first came to the Human World and learned everything she needed to, she needed a place to stay and when she first entered the Human World, she had a bag with her and in that bag were a few gems and jewellery which she sold for a ton of cash. Sunset then used that money to rent an apartment, get some clothes, food and everyday household items for her apartment but now she's low on money and can only pay rent for one more month before she has to move out.
Sunset Shimmer: "Maybe I should get a job but where could I get one?"
In your house, you were in your room, at a table while making three ruby pendants from broken pieces.
F/N: "There we go, good as new." You said as you finished making the pendants.
After the Battle of the Bands, you picked up the pieces of the Dazzlings' destroyed pendants and decided to fix them back up but they wouldn't have any magic in them.
F/N: "If I see the Dazzlings again, I will give them their pendants and ask why they did those terrible things." You said to yourself until you heard a knock at the door.
M/N: "F/N dear, Twilight is here to see you." She tells you which surprised you.
F/N: "Twilight's here? I didn't think she would come back so soon. I wonder what she wants." You wondered. "Okay mum, I'll go to her." You said.
You left your room and went downstairs to see Twilight.
F/N: "Twilight, I didn't think you would back to this world so soon." You tell her.
Twilight Sparkle: "I'm here on a mission for Princess Celestia."
F/N: "What's the mission?"
Twilight Sparkle: "She wants me to deliver a letter to Sunset Shimmer." She said as she took out a letter.
F/N: "A letter for Sunset? Who's it from?"
Twilight Sparkle: "It's from her parents." She said which shocked you.
F/N: "Her parents...the same two people who neglected her and made her life miserable in Equestria?" You asked with a little bit of anger.
Twilight Sparkle: "I know you don't like them F/N but this letter is important and Sunset needs to read it."
F/N: "Okay, if it's really important then I'll help you."
Twilight Sparkle: "Thank you F/N. Now where does Sunset live?"
F/N: "Let me call her." You said, took out your phone and called Sunset Shimmer. "Hey Sunset, what's up?"
Sunset Shimmer [On Phone]: Hey F/N, I'm...fine." She said a little hesitantly. "So why did you call me?"
F/N: "It's Twilight, she's here and she's got something for you."
Sunset Shimmer [On Phone]: "Twilight's here again? I didn't think she would back to this world so soon. What is it that she wants to give me?"
F/N: "It's something really important so let's meet up."
Sunset Shimmer [On Phone]: "Okay, let's meet at the school statue."
F/N: "Alright, see you there." You said and got off your phone. "We're going to meet Sunset outside the school."
Twilight Sparkle: "Then let's go see her."
Outside the school, at the school statue, you and Twilight arrive and see Sunset already there.
F/N: "Hey Sunset, we're here, we didn't make you wait too long did we?" You called out to her.
Sunset Shimmer: "No you didn't." She said and shake her head. "So Twilight, it's good to see you again but I didn't think we would meet again so soon."
Twilight Sparkle: "I know but it's important."
Sunset Shimmer: "Really? What is it?"
Twilight Sparkle: "Here." She said and took out a letter to Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "A letter? Who's it from?"
Twilight Sparkle: "Princess Celestia gave me this letter to give to you and she told me it's from your parents." She revealed which shocked Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "My parents?! What do they want?"
Twilight Sparkle: "I don't know but according to Princess Celestia it's important and she really wants you to read it." She said as she handed the letter Sunset Shimmer.
Sunset looked at the letter and she looked hesitantly at the letter before you put your hand on her shoulder.
F/N: "It's okay, we're here for you." You tell Sunset who nods.
Sunset opens the letter and unfolds it to read and also in the letter is a photo. Sunset looks at the photo then reads the letter but after she finishes reading the letter, she starts to shake which you noticed.
F/N: "Sunset? Are you okay?" You asked her.
Then all of a sudden, Sunset drops the letter and photo and runs off.
F/N & Twilight Sparkle: "SUNSET!" You both called out to her as she ran.
F/N: "What was in the letter?" You asked as you bent down and picked up the letter and photo.
You started to read the letter...
Dear Sunset Shimmer
If you are reading this, then we have unfortunately passed away and there's is one thing we always wanted to say...we're sorry.
We are sorry for the way you treated you, our daughter and we should have given you the love you deserved.
We used you but the truth is, we wanted what was best for you so we neglected you so you would work hard for our attention but it all went to our heads and when you told you might become an alicorn which meant you could become a princess, we became blinded and put too much pressure on you and because of us, you ran away.
After you ran away, we met with Princess Celestia and she told us you went into another world through a magic mirror. When we heard that, we became extremely worried for your wellbeing so we travelled around Equestria in hopes you returned somewhere in Equestria and that we can find you and become a family again.
We have written this letter and asked Princess Celestia to give to you this letter should we have passed away and we are truly sorry for our actions. Please forgive us for our actions and know that we love you.
We hope you find happiness wherever you are and know that we love you our daughter.

After you finished reading the letter, you and Twilight were shocked with Twilight put her hands over her mouth.
Twilight Sparkle: "So it is true, Sunset Shimmer's parents are dead."
You then looked at the photo and saw a picture of Sunset Shimmer as a filly with her parents.
F/N: "They...they truly did care for her...oh god, poor Sunset."
Twilight Sparkle: "W-what do we do now F/N?"
F/N: "We need to find Sunset Shimmer before she does something drastic."
Twilight Sparkle: "Where do you think so went?"
F/N: "I think she might have went back to her place."
Twilight Sparkle: "Then let's go and help her."
F/N: "I think one of us should go to her alone because she might do something reckless if we both show up."
Twilight Sparkle: "Your right F/N, I think you should go to Sunset."
F/N: "Okay but what about you Twilight."
Twilight Sparkle: "I'll stay here for a bit longer until Sunset is okay."
F/N: "Then why don't you go back to my place while I go to Sunset Shimmer."
Twilight Sparkle: "Okay F/N, good luck."
F/N: "Thanks." You said and started walking off. 'Please be okay Sunset Shimmer.' You thought.
You arrived outside Sunset's place and knocked on the front door.
F/N: "Sunset? It's me, are you okay?"
Sunset Shimmer: "Go away..."
F/N: "I'm coming in anyway." You said and opened the front door to see Sunset on her couch and crying. "Sunset..." You called to her.
Sunset Shimmer: "Please *sniff* go away F/N."
F/N: "Sunset...I've read the letter. I'm so sorry." You said as you walked up to her.
Sunset Shimmer: "Why? *sniff* Why are you here?"
F/N: "I'm here because I care about you and I don't want to see you upset. So please talk to me."
Sunset Shimmer: "...I spent most of my time in this world, hating my parents for the way they treated me, only to learn they treated me that way to make me work hard and now I just learned they did love me...and I'm never going to hear it from them again." She said as she started to cry even more. "I remember before they neglected me, they used to take me to a hilltop to watch the sunset and that was always my favourite memory from Equestria but now I'm never going to do it with them again." She said as she cried.
You started to feel really bad for Sunset Shimmer, you didn't want to see her like this so you sat down next to her and hugged her into your arms.
F/N: "Sunset Shimmer, I'm sorry you had to learn your parents were gone and that you can never see them again but they loved you and they have given it the wrong way when they neglected you but they still loved you and when you left, they travelled, they looked for you so that meant they did love you and while you may never get to see them again, they left you this." You said and took out the photo of Sunset as a filly. "They left this for you so you would remember them and all the good times you had with them. They love you and they want you to be happy, I know it must hurt but if you remember the good times you had with them then you know they love and care for you so forgot the bad times you had with your parents and just remember the good times you had with them so you can never forgot the love they have for you." You tell.
Sunset looks at the photo for a moment.
Sunset Shimmer: "Do...do you think they would be proud of me right now? Despite everything I've done here in this world."
F/N: "Sunset, your not that bad girl anymore, you are a kind, caring and beautiful girl who wants to help everyone." You said which Sunset blush when you called her beautiful. "Your parents would be proud of you, hell they be proud of you in playing your part to stop the sirens, former threats to Equestria and that you were able to make great friends. I know you have anger with your parents but I think you should let go of that anger and forgive your parents, even if they are gone." You tell her.
Sunset looks at the photo of her parents and herself as a filly and sheds a few tears.
Sunset Shimmer: "Mum...Dad...I know your not here right now but I want you two to know...I forgive you...and I love you..." She said and started to cry as she held the pictures while you hugged her.
F/N: "There, there, let it all out." You tell her as you rubbed her back.
After a few minutes of crying, Sunset stops and wipes her tears away.
Sunset Shimmer: "Thank you F/N, for being here and telling me all that."
F/N: "It's no problem Sunset, I don't like seeing the people I care be upset." You tell her which makes her blush slightly.
Sunset Shimmer: "Say F/N...did you mean it? That I'm a kind, caring and beautiful girl who wants to help everyone?"
F/N: "I meant every word." You tell her with a charming smile.
Sunset Shimmer: "F/N...There's something I want to give you to let you know how I feel about you." She said.
F/N: "What is it?" You asked curiously.
Sunset Shimmer: "This." She said and did something you didn't expect.
Sunset Shimmer kisses you on the lips!
Your eyes widen as this happens yet you couldn't help but enjoy it.
But it sadly ended so soon as Sunset moves her lips away from yours and she has a blush on her face as well as a smile.
F/N: "Sunset..."
Sunset Shimmer: "F/N...I love you." She tells you which makes you blush.
F/N: "Y-you do?!"
Sunset Shimmer: "Yes F/N, you were the first person to give me a second chance, you give me kindness, you supported me when people were having doubt about me changing from the old me and you came here to see if I was okay and gave me the words I needed to hear and because of that, my feelings for you grew and I fell in love with you."
F/N: "Sunset...when we first met, you were rather mean to me and everyone but now I see in front of me a girl who has changed into one of the most loving and beautiful girls I have ever met. I love the new you that you have become."
Sunset Shimmer: "You mean..." She said with hope.
F/N: "Sunset Shimmer...I love you too and I accept your feelings of love so that's why I want to ask you...will you be my girlfriend?" You ask her with a smile which made Sunset smile as a tear goes down her eyes.
Sunset Shimmer: "OF COURSE F/N! I WILL BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND! I LOVE YOU!" She said really happily as she hugged you and you returned her hug.
F/N: "It's you and me together now and I will never abandon you, my lovely sunset." You said which made her giggle with a blush on her face.
Sunset Shimmer: "And I will never leave you, my prince." She said which made you smile. "Say F/N, I was wondering if we could kiss."
F/N: "Of course we can." You said and kissed Sunset who returns the kiss.
You and Sunset enjoy the kiss together for a few minutes before separating for air as Sunset leaned on your chest.
Sunset Shimmer: "That was amazing."
F/N: "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
Sunset Shimmer: "Ummm F/N, I was wondering if you could help me with something."
F/N: "What is it?"
Sunset Shimmer: "I've been renting this place for awhile but now I'm low on money which I got from selling gems and jewellery I brought over from Equestria. So I was wondering if you could help me get a job or something."
F/N: "I don't know if I can help you get a job but I might be able to help your living situation out."
Sunset Shimmer: "What is it?"
F/N: "Come live with me." You said which made her eyes widen in shock.
Sunset Shimmer: "You want me to live with you?!"
F/N: "Well it's me and my parents but my parents are the kindest and caring people you will ever meet. We just tell them about your situation here and they'll let you stay with us."
Sunset Shimmer: "You really think they'll allow it?"
F/N: "Of course they will and that means I get to spend more time with my girlfriend." You said with a grin at the end which made Sunset blush.
Sunset Shimmer: "Okay...I'll live with you."
F/N: "Alright then so what do you want to do now?"
Sunset Shimmer: "Can we stay here for a bit?" She said as she got comfortable in your arms.
F/N: "Okay." You said as you held your new girlfriend.
After an hour of cuddling, you and Sunset decided to get up and go to your home where your parents and Twilight are waiting.
Twilight Sparkle: "Sunset, are you okay?" She asked worriedly.
Sunset Shimmer: "I'm fine now. Thank you for asking." She said with a small smile.
M/N: "Sunset dear, my name is M/N and I'm F/N's mother. Twilight here told me about your...parents and I am so sorry."
Sunset Shimmer: "It's okay, it hurts a little but thanks to your son, he made me feel a little better."
D/N: "I'm D/N and I'm F/N's father. Sunset, we heard a bit about you and how much you've changed from your old self and you are most welcome here."
F/N: "Mum, dad, can I ask you something?"
D/N: "What is it son?"
F/N: "Sunset Shimmer has been renting a place to stay but now she's low on money so she may get kicked out of her place eventually so I was wondering if she could move in with us." You asked.
M/N: "Of course dear, she can stay as long as she needs."
D/N: "I agree with your mother. Sunset Shimmer, you are most welcome to stay with us."
Sunset Shimmer: "R-really?" She asked with hope.
M/N: "Of course Sunset dear, welcome to our home." She said as she walked up to Sunset and hugged her.
Sunset Shimmer: "Th-thank you." She said.
Twilight Sparkle: "Sunset, if you have any problems, you can go to your friends or tell me through your journal."
Sunset Shimmer: "I will."
F/N: "So what are you going to do now Twilight?"
Twilight Sparkle: "I want to spend a few days here in this world so I'm going back to Equestria for awhile and ask Princess Celestia if she will allow me to stay here for awhile."
F/N: "I see, well our friends will be happy to hear that."
Twilight Sparkle: "I better get going, I'm sure my friends are worried about me."
F/N: "Okay, I hope we will see you again."
Sunset Shimmer: "Hey Twilight."
Twilight Sparkle: "Yes Sunset?" She asked and Sunset hugged which surprised her.
Sunset Shimmer: "Thank you for being my friend." She said which made Twilight smile.
Twilight Sparkle: "Your welcome." She returned the hug before they let go. "I'll see you again soon."
F/N & Sunset Shimmer: "Goodbye." You said as you waved goodbye to Twilight who left your home.
F/N: "So Sunset, do you want to stay for the night?"
Sunset Shimmer: "Of course." She said and kissed you on the lips which you returned.
M/N: "Oh my!" Called out your mum which made you and Sunset stop kissing and blushed a little as you saw your parents watching. "F/N...are you and Sunset..."
F/N: "Yes mum, me and Sunset are together."
D/N: "That's my boy! You finally got yourself a girlfriend!" He cheered.
Sunset Shimmer: "Is your dad always like that?" She asked you.
F/N: "Eeyup." You answered.
Sunset Shimmer went back to her place to get some of her belongings to bring back to your place as she will be staying in one of the guests rooms. She joined you and your parents for dinner and deserts, watched TV with you until it was time to go to sleep.
You were in bed in your pyjama pants while looking up at the ceiling.
F/N: "So I finally got a girlfriend...I like it." You said to yourself with a smile before hearing a knock at the door. "Who is it?"
Sunset Shimmer: "It's me! Can I come in?"
F/N: "Yes you may." You said and Sunset enters your room in her pyjamas.
Sunset Shimmer: "F/N, I was wondering if I could sleep in bed with you." She asked with a blush which made you blush a little.
F/N: "O-okay, I don't mind." You said and moved slightly to make room.
Sunset Shimmer: "Thank you." She said and got on to the bed next to you.
F/N: "Now let's get some rest."
Sunset Shimmer: "Okay." She said and then she got on top of you.
F/N: "Whoa! Sunset!" You said surprised.
Sunset Shimmer: "F/N, I love you." She said with a smile which made you smile.
F/N: "I love you too Sunset Shimmer." You said back then Sunset pressed her lips on to yours.
You both kissed for awhile before stopping.
F/N: "Good night Sunset, I love you."
Sunset Shimmer: "Good night F/N, I love you too." She said and kissed you on the cheek before resting her head on your chest.
You held Sunset in your arms as she rested on top of you.
Little did you know that Sunset Shimmer wasn't the only girl who loves you for there were others and you were in for quite the surprise the next day...
