"I mean... I did say that I want you to teach me the strigoi way..." Rose says flaunting her arms around her "... but did it have to be on a rooftop?" She asks and throws her bag on the marble with a thud.
"We don't want people to see you like that." Dimitri says still stretching his arms.
"Wait I'll be the strigoi?" Rose asks confused.
"Given that I almost attacked you while being one... let's not revive that trauma ok?" He says softly without making eye contact.
"Ok." She simply responds. "In that case you have to wait cause I have to imagine you as a damsel in distress, or even vulnerable." She says grinning and he chuckles.
"You are the only person that can make me come to my knees Roza so that's fitting." He tells her.
'Fucking Dimitri' Rose thinks and smiles to herself.
"And you were late because?" Dimitri asks out of the blue.
"Adrian. He was being... well himself." Rose replies and walks to where he is standing.
"Did I mention that I don't like the guy?" He says throwing her the boxing gloves.
"He's just a weird and sometimes horny puppy. Unable to harm anyone." She smirks.
"He's annoying." He responds and turns to look at her. "Gloves on c'mon. We don't have the whole day."
"Yes Sensei." She says mockingly lowering her head.
"Ugh." She says when she finds herself on the mattress again. "How come I'm the strigoi and you always keep winning?" She whines.
"Cause I'm top tier guardian Rose." He says offering her his hand to get up. She was half way up when she changed her mind. With a sudden move she pulls him down on the mattress and she's on top of him. Her gloved hands framing his head.
"Remind me though..." She says sitting on his thighs, leaning forward. "Who got bitten and got turned? And made me suffer for I don't know how long?" With each sentence she closes the distance between them more so now she's almost whispering over his parted lips.
"That would be me ma'am." Dimitri says almost breathless. His fingers are digging on her love handles.
"Ok, good. Cause I thought you forgot about it for a moment." He's about to answer when she seals his lips with a kiss. A kiss that started soft but as per usual fashion turned into something else in milliseconds.
"Been wanting to do that two days now." She says with her eyes still closed.
"Been waiting for you to do that two days now." He replies.
"Little dhampir? You up here?" They hear Adrian say and Dimitri rolls his eyes.
"For how long is he staying again?" Dimitri asks as Rose gets up.
"For a week." She says helping him up. "And now he wants me to escort him to a meeting he has." She continues.
"There are experienced guardians for this job." He says almost growling when Adrian shows up.
"Way. Too. Many. Stairs." He says panting and sweating.
"Not my fault. Told you to wait for me." Rose says picks up her bag and after a wink at Dimitri leaves with Adrian.
Meeting took longer than expected and since she was cleared from all of her classes today Rose was standing with the rest of the guardians waiting for the end of this. She could swear she was seeing beams of sunlight coming through the small window at the waiting room.
"Can you keep an ear and let me know when they are done? I need some fresh air." Rose says to the guy next to her who nods.
She steps on the sideway and lifts her head up to see the pretty purple/orange colors that sky has when she feels arms wrapping around her stomach. Normally she would go on attack mode but now she had learnt to trust her gut (aka her new best friend nausea) and she knew the scent that now surrounds her.
"Guardian Belikov." Rose states and Dimitri laughs against her exposes neck.
"Novice Hathaway." He says following her example.
"I thought you had a class to teach." She says with her eyes still following the colors at the sky.
"In case you didn't check your clock it's almost seven in the morning. I was waiting for you to return but then I heard that you're still here so..."
"You came to find me." Rose completes his sentence. She turns her head a bit to rest it against his.
"Isn't it beautiful?" She asks referring to the sky.
"Peaceful I'd say." He responds and wraps his hands around her tighter.
"Someone may see us." Rose says but she doesn't move.
"Follow me." Dimitri says and takes her hand leading her to an alley. A moment later she finds herself against a wall.
"I was looking around when we came and I didn't see this. Where did you even... Peripheral check rounds." She says with a smile and he nods.
"Always be prepared Roza." He says and bends his head to kiss her. His palm cupping her neck, his thumb caressing her jaw line.
"A tip for the future. Never say important things before you kiss me." She says and pulls him down for another kiss.
"Hathaway? They are done." The guy she left in charge over Adrian says.
"That's my queue." She says and runs away. "They took their time." Dimitri hears her say.
"Why is Belikov here?" Adrian asks her catching her by surprise.
"He is?" Rose pretentiously asks.
"That's for you to ask and never find out." Dimitri says and greets the guy next to Rose.
"Puppy." She whispers at him and bumps his arm with her shoulder.
He says something in Russian in return and leaves them.
On their drive back her phones lights up with a text.
"Get rid of your pet and come to my room."
