-Y/N's POV-
The next day passed by like a breeze. I went with Nick to meet his new family. He was extremely nervous but I held his hand every step of the way which made him feel calmer.
His step-dad was extremely nice along with his half-siblings. He had an older brother and a younger sister. His mom was right, he fit right in.
Nick couldn't contain his joy. He shed a few tears throughout the day and so did I, finally knowing he received the family he's always wanted.
And at the end of the night, Nick and I spent the night together in his new bedroom. It was bigger than the last one and his parents offered to buy him whatever he wanted to make his room feel like home. They also told him that they'd give him $25 a week for chores which was huge for Nick since he lost his job.
Nick and I were overwhelmed with excitement. The two of us were so happy with how things turned out for the better for him.
Y/N:
"Ouu this one's cool!" I pointed to the red beanbag on the shopping website.
Nick gripped his laptop and clicked on the link.
NICK:
"Damn it's pretty cheap too. I'm gonna get it." He smiled cutely while adding the item to his virtual cart.
After a few moments, he paused and looked at me.
NICK:
"Todays been the best day of my life...and it's all because of you..." He sadly smiled.
Y/N:
"Well...just goes to show that fear is the only thing that can stop you from having everything you've ever dreamt of." I smiled back.
Nick's eyes fell to my lips as his cheeks became redder.
NICK:
"Not everything..." He spoke quietly.
My gaze fell to his lips as the two of us leaned in closer subconsciously. Our lips almost touched but he pulled away before we could kiss. He shut his eyes with a sigh then closed his laptop.
Nick stood up and walked to his desk to place his laptop down.
NICK:
"You need to tell Clay and George how you feel Y/N..." He mumbled, "I don't wanna do anything behind their backs..."
I nodded slowly. A sudden burst of confidence took over me.
Y/N:
"What if I told them tomorrow?" I stood up.
Nick turned around as his eyes widened a little.
NICK:
"You will?"
I nodded again.
NICK:
"Okay...how're you gonna do it...?"
Y/N:
"I'll figure that out later but..." I stepped closer to my crush, "Nick I want to do this...I know you do too..."
I cupped his cheeks, making his heat up under my palms as his eyes widened.
Y/N:
"What would be the perfect end to this day than kissing your crush since the 1st grade...?" I sadly smiled at him.
Nick stared hard at my lips, contemplating on what to do.
After a few moments of silence, I began to hear a tapping at his windows. I slowly turned around to see it begin a light rain.
I immediately grinned then let go of his cheeks to grab his hand. I ran downstairs with him, making him very confused.
When I opened the front door, it started to rain more. I smirked at Nick, waiting for him to catch on. Once he did, he sighed with a smile. He took my hand and the two of us ran outside, getting soaked in the rain.
I squealed in happiness as the two of us danced goofily like we did that one day, the day my crush on him began. Then after a few moments, I wrapped my arms around his neck. He subconsciously held his hands on my waist. The two of us stared deep into each other's eyes.
Y/N:
"Getting deja vu?" I joked, which made him laugh.
NICK:
"Yeah."
Y/N:
"Us dancing in the rain was how my crush started." I smiled fondly at him.
Nick smiled with a hard blush.
Y/N:
"It's also where I wanna have our first kiss..."
His eyes widened a little.
NICK:
"But—"
Y/N:
"Nick..." I interrupted him, "Fear is the only thing stopping you from getting what you want...put yourself first this time...it's just you and me here...I want this...do you...?"
Nick swallowed hard while staring at my lips.
NICK:
"Promise me you'll tell them tomorrow..."
Y/N:
"Only if you promise that you'll kiss me right now." I sadly smiled at him.
Nick huffed out a smile with an even bigger blush.
Y/N:
"I promise..."
NICK:
"I promise..."
The two of us smiled widely and slowly leaned in, crashing our lips together in the rain.
We both instantly held each other tighter, savoring our perfect kiss. His lips were soft, his kiss slowly became more passionate. He squeezed my waist when I ran my hands from his cheeks to his hair.
Kissing him made me feel alive, safe, and loved.
After a minute, we split apart for air. Once we did, we rested our foreheads together while staring into each other's eyes, all with the biggest smiles on our faces.
NICK:
"That was worth the wait..."
I huffed out a bigger smile and couldn't resist crashing our lips together again. This time, we were both hungrier for more. I licked his lips, requesting entry to makeout. He parted his lips slightly and that's what we did.
Kissing him felt addictive, it felt right.
After another minute of making out, we split apart. Our cheeks were as red as tomatoes.
NICK:
"Jesus Christ..." He laughed, making me laugh too.
I soon realized it was still raining on us.
Y/N:
"We should head inside before we get sick." I chuckled.
NICK:
"Oh—I forgot it was raining."
The two of us bursted out laughing, joined hands and jogged back inside.
We grabbed towels from the hall closet and changed out of our wet clothes. I borrowed his sisters pajamas.

Once we were all dried off, my best friend and I laid down together on his new and bigger bed. We were cuddled up the same way as yesterday. Our legs were tangled in each other, my head was on his chest, we smelt like each other.
After our excitement wore off, reality settled in our minds.
NICK:
"I feel guilty..."
Y/N:
"Well you shouldn't." I tilted my head up to meet his eyes, "We both wanted to do it. You're not selfish for going after what you want..."
I kissed Nick's cheek.
Y/N:
"I'll tell them tomorrow, I promise..."
Nick nodded slowly.
NICK:
"What happens after they know...?"
Y/N:
"We'll all talk about it and come up with a plan..."
NICK:
"What is the plan...?"
Y/N:
"I don't know silly, I need to think of one." I chuckled.
Nick smiled then leaned his head against mine.
NICK:
"No matter who you end up picking...I'm grateful for the moments we had..."
I nodded slowly.
Y/N:
"Me too..."
The two of us fell silent after that. We were trapped in our overthinking brains. After a minute, I yawned and began to feel more tired. So, I gave into my tiredness and shut my eyes.
Y/N:
"Goodnight hubby..."
NICK:
"Goodnight wifey..." He kissed my forehead softly which made me smile with a blush.
Soon, the two of us fell asleep, ready for the truth to come out tomorrow.
