Adira let out a groan of boredom as she threw her head back against the head rest. "Oh my lord I'm bored as bat shit right now man," Adira whined, hitting the back of her head over and over again on the head rest, causing Robin to snort softly in amusement as she looked over at the girl, brushing her hair behind her ear with a gentle smile

They had been sitting in the van for over an hour and this was just about the hundredth time that Adira had lost the game of chopsticks to Robin in the last 30 minutes.

The van was pretty divided. Steve was at the front of the van by himself, Max and Lucas were sitting in an awkward silence at the back of the bus, Dustin and Eddie were talking to each other over in the corner behind Steve's seat, Nancy was sitting by herself, staring outside the window in silence as she watched the trees pass, exhausted from the events from before

Robin and Adira were sitting together and had tried multiple methods to try and keep themselves occupied as the time ticked past and they stayed in the van that smelt like cigarettes, sex and mould.

At first, the two girls had started singing, clearly enjoying themselves as they clenched their fists and held it up near their mouths as if they we're microphones, however this didn't last long as a scatter of 'shut ups' were thrown at them from around the bus.

They had then decided to try and plait each others hair, but there were way too many knots in their hair since neither of them had had the time over the last couple of days to properly brush their hair out. And then they had both tried to play charades but they gave up as they continued to fail to guess what the other person was acting out, and then lastly, they played chopsticks.

"This place fucking stinks," Robin whined as she tried to open the window next to her even more, but it was jammed and there was only a small gap, allowing only a small amount of fresh air to come through, "why couldn't we have stolen a nicer caravan than this one?"

"Tell me about it, it smells worse than Steves bedroom," Adira retorted with a snort of amusement, "and that shit is nasty as hell". The two girls stopped talking as they watched Nancy stand up from her chair.

Adira's eyes followed Nancy as she walked past Adira and Robin and made her way over to the passenger seat where she began to talk to Steve. Adira furrowed her eyebrows softly and refrained from letting out a small sigh, knowing that this was only going to end up with her brother getting hurt

"they're cute arent they?" Robin asked Adira softly so that nobody else could hear their conversation. Adira turned to look away from Nancy and her brother to look at Robin instead, forcing herself to not roll her eyes.

"Are you kidding Rob? Look, I love Nancy... don't get me wrong, she is a good friend of mine, but she doesnt deserve my brother," Adira whispered to Robin so that only the short haired girl could hear her, "she completely crushed his heart... and yes I'll admit my brother is far from being a saint, but he really fucking loves Nancy and he tried to make up for the theatre incident over and over again, hell he did more than enough to make up for it, but instead she left him for that Byers kid," Adira explained to Robin.

Robin nodded her head softly, she could definitely see where Adira was coming from. "Anyways, I should probably just stay out of it, its not really any of my business and I dont want to be the annoying overbearing sister who doesn't know how to keep her nose out of her brothers business, he's old enough to choose his own path and make his own decisions," Adira muttered out with a small sigh. She was clearly getting upset over the conversation as she began to fiddle her fingers anxiously before standing up, "anyways enough of the overprotective sister shit, I'm gonna go and hang out with Ed's and Dustin for a bit, wanna come?" She asked Robin

Robin put a fake smile on her face and shook her head, "no it's okay, I think I'll just stay here and try and get this stupid window to open more," she said, not having any desire to go and third wheel her and Munson.

"Oh, okay," Adira muttered out softly, sensing that something was up. She brushed it off, slightly annoyed at the fact that she could only read peoples thoughts randomly and occasionally, and often when it didn't matter, but she couldn't figure out how to do it when she actually wanted to, "well if you change your mind just head over," she muttered, giving Robin a soft smile.

She gave Robin one last look over her shoulder after she had turned around the then walked over to Eddie, laying down on the empty bit of couch next to him and placing her head in his lap before beginning small talk with him and Dustin

Robin looked away from Adira and Eddie and turned her head towards the front of the van and peered over at the two who were now making small talk amongst themselves and she began to pay attention to the way that Steve looked at Nancy. His eyes were filled with admiration and love every time his eyes managed to find Nancy.

Robin wasn't blind, she saw the way Steve always reacted whenever he was around Nancy. He was nervous but also overly confident, like he wanted to impress her but also didnt want to embarrass himself in front of her. He would sweat slightly and fiddle his fingers anxiously.

And it was at that moment that Robin realised that her and Steve really did have something in common - they fell in love with people who would never truely love them back, at least, not in the way that they wished they would. Robin turned back to look at Adira who was now laughing her head off at something Eddie had said as he ran his fingers through her hair and grinned down at her.

Robin bounced her leg up and down unconsciously as she peered over at the couple. Why doesn't she look at me the way that she looks at him? What does he have that I dont? Why couldn't she have chosen me? But Robin brushed those thoughts away and then decided that she couldn't blame Adira, its not Adira's fault that I'm some freak that cant keep my eyes off her... its not her fault that she doesn't like girls too.

"Alright people, we are here!" Steve called out to the kids scattered throughout the van as he pulled into a car spot outside of the weapon shop

"Thank fuck," Adira said and went to stand up, making Dustin give her a look of disbelief as she shook his head

"Uh uh, you can't go in there with us," Dustin exclaimed, staring the obvious, "everyone in Hawkins is looking for you, they think that you have been kidnapped and held captive by Eddie, who might I remind you, they want for murder. You and Eddie both have to stay in the caravan while the rest of us go into the store," Dustin commanded them

Adira let out a soft huff, "but we technically aren't even in Hawkins anymore, we crossed the border," the girl whined. She just wanted to get the hell out of the stupid caravan, it was sickly warm and it smelt horrid, all of them occasionally gagging

"Sorry Addy, Dustin is right, the two of you have to stay in here. Don't worry, we won't be long, we will be in and out," Steve told his sister as he checked his wallet to make sure that they had enough money for them to buy the weapons that they would need

Adira crossed her arms over her chest with a pout and sat down dramatically, she knew that they were right but she wasn't going to admit that out loud so she just nodded her head and kept her mouth shut as the teens all piled out of the car, leaving Eddie and Adira alone in the caravan.

It was silent for a few minutes, Eddie could tell that the girl was annoyed so he wasn't too sure if he should try and speak to her or not, he didn't want to annoy or upset her even more so he let her cool down for a while before it became to awkward and he decided to break the silence between the two of them, "how are you feeling sweetheart?" He asked her softly.

Adira uncrossed her arms and scooted back over to the spot next to Eddie and placed her head against his shoulder, "In all honesty I'm tired as hell," she groaned, "but I'm also relieved. Last night was obviously, ya know, shit... but it could have gone a lot worse. We all made it out of there alive thankfully, and Nancy didn't get too hurt, well not physically anyways, and Steve's wounds aren't too deep, I'm just glad that we are okay," she explained to him

"There is just so much that had been going on for the last few weeks and I don't know if i can wrap my head around it all," she said with a small sigh. She let out a soft yawn, but she knew that she couldn't fall asleep, it would be ton dangerous

"We all made it out alive, and that's what matters right. And it's got to count for something, I mean, if we can make it through that alive, then I'm sure that we can get through anything else that Vecna tries to throw our way."

"Not necessarily Ed. We don't even know what Vecna is really capable yet. It's just so frustrating, because I - well I just feel like there is something else that I should know, like I should have connected the dots by now but I haven't... there is something important and I can't bloody figure it out... I don't know why he's going after Max, I don't know who he is going to go after next..." Adira groaned and ran her hand over her face in frustration, "I should have fucking figured it out by now."

"You can't put so much pressure on yourself Adira, you expect too much from yourself.  I don't know if this will mean that much, but I just want you to know how proud of you I am. I don't know how you have done it all," the boy muttered out in pure admiration, "I mean you've literally almost been killed by Vecna multiple times, and you got ripped to bloody shreds last night, it's amazing"

Adira wasn't sure what to say or how to react. Her parents had never told her that they were proud of her when she was growing up, only her brother had said it to her.

She smiled at Eddie and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek, "thanks Ed," she whispered to him with a sigh. It was hard for her not to fall asleep, she was just so tired and she was comfortable.

Eddie could see how much she was struggling to stay awake so he stood up and reached his hand out for the girl to take. She raised her eyebrow up at him as her eyes flickered between his face and the hand in front of her face

"C'mon Harrington. Scared that I'm a better dancer than you?" He asked her with a smirk

"Oh sweet boy, we both know that I'm the better dancer," she smirked back as she reached up and placed her hand in his, allowing him to take it and help her up. They didn't have much room in the van, but they had enough

"Oh yeah, prove it," he replied, making her giggle softly as she wrapped her arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around her waist, the two of them dancing. Adira rested her head against his chest, listening to the thumping sound of his heart in his chest. This was the calmest she had felt in a while, she felt safe with his arms wrapped around her, she almost forgot about the Vecna situation, but even the warm comfort of Eddie's embrace wasn't enough to clear the monster from her head

"You don't need to worry Adira, you guys have done all of this before. You guys know what you are doing, we are all going to be fine," Eddie tried to assure her

But she knew that wasn't true.
