Ezra POV
"I've never been in a snowball fight before. What are the rules?" Maudie asked.
"Rules?" Kyle asked.
"Is there a point system, or is it to the death?" Maudie asked, balling up some snow.
"I wouldn't call it 'to the death' but yes." I said.
"Last one standing is the champion." Kyle said.
"So no teaming?" Ava asked. "Oh no."
"Nope, every man and woman for themselves." Kyle said.
"We'll all have 10 minutes to prepare for war." I said.
"I'll set a timer." Ava said, pulling out her phone.
Everyone went to our own corners and started building our bases.
"This stick will represent my country!" Kyle declared, sticking the stick on his base.
I ignored his nonsense as I built a sturdy wall for my base.
It's very hard to destroy.
I've studied all the strongest bases in the world.
No one can infiltrate mine easily now.
After a few minutes, I finished with my state of the art base.
I'm quite proud of it.
Maudie's base was next to mine.
I couldn't see what she was doing,
But she looked busy.
I shouldn't focus on others progress,
Or else I'll get distracted on my own.
I started making snowballs at the speed of light.
I need to make as many as I can.
"Times up!" Ava shouted.
All of us stopped what we were doing.
I think I have a decent number of snowballs.
"Okay! Battle begins in 3,2.... 1-" I said.
Kyle jumped out of his base and started pelting everyone's base with snowballs.
Ava's base got completely destroyed.
Maudie's and I were still intact.
Ava was completely exposed
Kyle and I threw a snowball at her.
She got shot two ways.
"Oh well." Ava said glumly, walking away.
Then Kyle started attacking me with snowballs,
I dodged all of them and stayed low.
"Real life ain't the same as your silly old books, right Ezra?!" Kyle said, holding a giant snowball.
Looking ready to throw it at me.
I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth
"No one calls Wizards and Warlocks silly! I said, balling up some snow.
I used all my strength and threw it directly at Kyle.
It was a critical hit to the chest, and he dramatically fell back.
I couldn't believe it.
I defeated the snowball fight champion.
It was just me and Maudie left.
I turned to her and saw her smiling smugly.
"Did you know that an average 1 out of ten 10 of men pee on snow for 'experimental and research' purposes'?" Maudie asked.
"What does have to do with-" I said.
Snowballs started shooting towards me,
I nearly got hit but luckily, I dodged all of them.
she ducked down.
I'm assuming she's reloading on fuel...
Should I infiltrate?
I looked at the amount of 'ammo' I had at the moment
I don't have enough to infiltrate,
I have to make more.
I ducked down and frantically made more.
Once I had made enough, I stood up.
Then I saw a ridiculous number of snowballs shooting towards at me.
I did a squat to doge them and got back up.
"What was that!?" I asked. "That was so many!" I asked
Maudie pulled out a handmade looking gizmo and smiled.
"Say hello to the Snow Launcher 2000. I made it with unused items in my house." Maudie said.
The snow launcher consisted of two things,
a giant mouse trap and a giant wooden spoon.
She must have tinkered with the mouse trap to make her snow launcher.
"You have a giant-sized mouse trap?" Ava asked.
"For giant sized rodents." Maudie and Kyle said in unison.
Dammit, she didn't look away.
"You wanted me to look away right?" Maudie asked.
"N-no." I said.
She's making me nervous.
Maudie ducked back down.
She's probably refueling.
I'm going to infiltrate her base.
I grabbed as many snowballs as I can.
I went out of my base and quietly sneaked over to Maudie's.
I saw her legs.
It was covered in snow
If I can just throw one snowball at it,
I'll win.
I threw one at it.
I WIN.
I ACTUALLY WON.
I stood up and started cheering.
"I WON! I WO-" I celebrated.
Then I felt something hitting my back.
I turned around and saw Maudie,
smiling as she tossed a snowball up and down.
She had the look of a young heroine.
"No, I win." Maudie said.
My eyes widened.
"Then who was? -" I asked.
"I made a dummy out of salvaged lumber earlier, my personal strategy." Maudie said.
I went inside Maudie's base and brushed the snow off her 'legs'
It was indeed salvaged lumber.
Then next to it was a tunnel.
She must have sneaked out that way.
I've been duped...
Maudie walked up to me and pulled her hand out to shake.
"Good game." Maudie said.
"GG." I said, shaking her hand.
Ava and Kyle ran over to us.
"That trick was so amazing!" Ava said.
"I agree. I need to take notes." Kyle said.
"Since when did you take notes?" Ava asked.
"Mental notes Ava, mental notes." Kyle said.
"Whatever you say Kyle, I want to make snow angels." Ava said as she laid down.
"Me too." Maudie said as she laid down next to Ava.
Kyle and I looked at each other.
"Don't be shy boys, join us." Maudie said.
"Yes, or I'll give you guys hugs as punishment." Ava said.
We immediately laid down and joined them.
"I'm a bit offended." Ava joked.
All of us laughed as we made snow angels
