CHAPTER 54
Nanah's POV
Healing is a process when it comes to physical healing one easily forget about the trauma but with emotional healing it's a gradual process and we don't always completely heal because the trauma it's always there we just learn to live with it and life goes on.
When I make the decision to leave Abu and walk out of his life completely 5months ago i know it's the rightful thing for me to do but at thesame time I'm certainly sure i will go through alot of pain especially with how much i love you, but love is a feeling that easily fade away when we pay less Attention and decide to let go,
Abu didn't say much that day he just walk out and didn't say a word to me neither my mum, I relocated to Ghana 2days after i completed my iddah,
I got a job in a hospital and I'm staying with my Aunty for now, I wanted to bring khairat with me but my mum said i should wait until i settle down completely.
Coming down from the cab i hand the taxi driver the money and walk inside the shop, everyday I close from work i come straight to my aunty's shop to help her out,
Aunty rukayya own this big fabrics shop despite the 3sales girls in the shop there are days where customers seems to be more than usual.
"Nanah,
You close late today hope everything is alright?"she ask and i nod tiredly dropping my handbag on chair, the shop is less busy today so i sit next to her on the plastic chair.
"There was a slight hold up,
How is market today?"she ask as she ask one of the sales girl to get me something to drink.
"Alhamdulilah,
Alhaji luqman just left, he even ask about you."she say and i nod not wanting to discuss the topic much.
Alhaji luqman is actually this man that own one of the biggest jewelry shop next to my aunty, we only met once and he told my aunty he likes me,
I didn't oblige i gave him a slight attention and he told me he's from Nigeria, he's in his middle 50's and is a married man, he told me he really like me and would like to marry me, he said he need someone to stay here with him in Ghana since his wife refused to relocate with him,
He told me he's been married to his wife for over 20years and he doesn't have any child but he have a step son that his wife have from a previous marriage, I don't know what to think of him,
I'm not sure I'm ready to settle down now, but he seems like a really nice man and he's matured, I'm certainly not going to be selective when it comes to men especially at this age the last thing i want is to become a victim of yet another traumatizing relationship all in the name of love.
"Nanah toh since you finish your iddah,
Just give Alhaji a chance,
You are 31 you need to settle down and start a family,
Have you been taking your medication?"she ask and i sigh,
Aunty rukky took me to this local fertility clinic and they gave me this herbal that it might help me if I'm lucky, it's 21st century and I'm not putting much hope on this traditional medicine.
"I'm taking it,
I was thinking of visiting my mum and khairat they say they are on holiday."I say with a sigh and my aunty shrug.
"If i where you Nanah wlh i will marry before i leave this country, so that atleast everyone will see you've move on and you are happy."aunty rukky say dramatically and i laugh.
"Aunty rukky I don't want to rush things please,
This relationship thing is not something i want to give all my all and at the end get one massive heart break."I say and she laugh.
"I know alhaji luqman for more than 15years and you can ask anyone in this market the man have a self respect,
He's a decent man."she say encouragingly and i smile.
"May God choose what's best for us,
Aunty I'm hungry this coke will not sustain me at all."I say and she laugh, she gave one of her sales girl some money to buy me food as we continue talking mostly about relationships obstacle and life in general,
It's until evening that the market close aunty rukky and i where walking to her car when we ran into Alhaji luqman again, i usually don't pay much attention to the man face and appearance because that's least of my concern but now that I do the man isn't as old as i picture him in my head, he's about 6feet tall, with his clean shaved face and slight side hair,
He look matured and definitely responsible.
"Hajiya rukayya,
You didn't close Early today?
How was market?"he ask as he look toward me.
"Alhamdulilah alhaji,
How's your own market?"aunty Rukayya ask slightly squeezing my hand probably telling me to smile inside her head.
"Good evening."I greet slightly kneeling and he nod.
"Evening khadijah,
How was work i was asking your aunt about you this afternoon she told me you work at a lab."he say and i nod.
"Alhaji let me head to the car,
So you two can finish your discussion."my aunty say biding goodbye to him and walk away.
"So Nanah,
You haven't say anything to me since our previous discussion,
It's more than a month now,
I know I'm probably old for you Koh?'He say and i don't know why but the word old just make me start laughing.
"It's not so alhaji,
Anyway may Allah choose what's best for us."I say with a smile and he nod smiling.
"Can i get your contact atleast?"he ask and i nod collecting the phone from him.
I type my contact and give it to him as he smile at me before putting the phone inside his pocket.
"Nanah Aurenki nakesonyi,
I'm not here to date you or something,
I'm too old and busy for that."he say looking at me and i nod.
"May the Almighty choose what's best for us alhaji."i say and he say Ameen before we both start walking to the lot.
He say goodbye to me and my aunt before heading to his own car as aunty Rukayya excitedly start asking me what we discuss making me to laugh at her.

Nanah's POV
When i told my mum about Alhaji luqman she was very happy for me likewise jidderh, I don't want to abstain my family out of my relationship I believe it's among the mistake i made few years ago and I'm certainly not repeating such,
Luqman is a very nice man with an awesome personality he's all about feminism and woman independency he told me he believe women that want to work despite been married should be encouraged rather than been shun or judged by the society, he said he's ok with a lady who want to be a housewife because his first wife is a housewife and he's fine with taking all her responsiblities but he's more than ok with a working class lady because it's a sign she knows what she wants in life,
He encouraged me by even getting me a better job in one of the country biggest hospital which I'm so happy about.
"Luqman 3months is not much,
You also have time to do the necessary preparations."I say and he sigh.
Luqman is persistent about taking our relationship to the next step of marriage even tho we just start talking about 3weeks ago he said he doesn't want us to stay this long and would love to make a formal introduction and hopefully by next month ending we should get married.
"Nanah I'm prepared,
You don't have to worry about that beside yesterday i spoke with your mum and she said she's looking forward to our wedding."he say and i give him a look of bewilderment with a smile.
"You spoke with my mum?"I ask and he nod with a shrug.
"Almost everyday,
She's going to be my mother in-law,
Khadija please let me meet your uncle tomorrow."he say and i stare at him with a smile.
"This your smile all the time,
I'm serious,
I'm not one of this young boys that will have time for all this long relationship that isn't necessary."he say and i laugh.
"Luqman I'm 31 I'm not a small girl."I say and he nod.
"I know but you didn't even look like 31,
Anyway so what do you say?
I don't want to do this without your permission that's why I'm asking you if not your aunt and i have already finish talking about all this."he say and I sigh.
"Toh luqman as you wish,
Allah ya zaban mana abunda yafi alkhairi."I say and he mutter Ameen.
We talk for a while and come to the conclusion that the wedding will hold in 2 months time even though luqman isn't so happy about it but he was glad i reduced the one month,
He drop me at home and as I come down from the car and wave at him,
I can't help but pray that this will not be just another mistake of my life,
Even do luqman told me his wife is ok with him taking me as a second wife I'm just soo afraid and insecure about it.
