Sam, Colby and Kat had gone out clubbing after a long day of filming for a new series. It was getting late into the night. Sam had gone to talk to some other people he knew, leaving Colby and Kat. Colby offered to go get both him and Kat more drinks. She smiled and waited patiently as Colby went to the bar.
" Hey gorgeous," said a voice. Kat looked behind her, seeing a guy smiling at her. "Do you come here often? I'm Kyle. Can I buy you a drink?"
" Actually, my friend is already buying me one, but thanks," Kat replied.
" Just a friend?" asked the guy.
" Yes, but I do have a boyfriend as well," explained Kat.
" Is he here?" asked Kyle.
" Yes, he is," said Kat. She scanned the room for Sam, but couldn't see him. This club was definitely over the capacity it should've been. It was hard to even move around.
" Well, he doesn't have to know," said Kyle " I'm sure he won't mind sharing."
Kat smacked his hand away, as he went to caress her face. She turned to walk away from him, but he forcefully grabbed her wrists, attempting to pull her away.
" Hey, stop!" yelled Kat. She was forcefully trying to get away from him. In seconds, Colby was in between them, pushing the guy away.
" Keep your hands off of her!" said Colby.
" Are you her boyfriend?" asked Kyle.
" Doesn't matter, don't touch her like that!" said Colby.
" Dude, c'mon, help a bro out," explained Kyle. " She's so fine, let me have this one."
" How about I give you a chance to get the fuck out of here before I throw you out!" said Colby, angrily. Colby began walking away with Kat, keeping her close as they turned away from this guy.
" Wear something shorter next time for me sweetheart," yelled Kyle as they walked away.
Colby quickly stopped in his tracks, whipping around as he walked right up to Kyle and punched him square in the face. Kyle barely had time to react as Colby's fist connected with his face. Everyone around them made space as the boys kept throwing punches at each other. They were both covered in blood before Colby eventually got Kyle to the ground, continuing to fight him as the Kyle attempted to fight him off.
" Colby! Stop!" yelled Kat, but he didn't hear her.
Eventually, security came through and separated the two boys. They took Kyle towards a back exit and took Colby towards the main entrance. Kat followed him out. Security led them both outside, asking them what had happened. Colby was still fuming as he told security what happened.
Security unfortunately told Colby he was not allowed back in the club. When the security guard returned back into the club, Colby turned towards Katrina.
" Are you okay?" he asked her.
" Yea, I'm fine," said Kat. " Thanks."
" We should find Sam," said Colby.
" I'll just call him," said Kat, pulling out her phone.
" You don't need to," said Sam.
Kat and Colby both turned to greet him as he walked out of the club entrance. He was fuming. Sam marched straight up to Colby.
" What the hell happened?" asked Sam angrily. " I leave for two seconds and you're in a damn fight, seriously Colby?"
" Dude, it's not like that," said Colby.
" I don't wanna fucking hear it dude," said Sam. "You always do this, everytime. Just once, I'd like for one of us to not get arrested, or detained. You can't even do that!"
" What are you talking about?" asked Colby.
" Fucking learn to keep your anger in check," said Sam. " C'mon Kat, we should go. It will give Colby time to cool off."
" Cool off?" said Colby. He huffed in annoyance. " I was protecting your girlfriend because you were too busy to notice she was in trouble. Why the hell would you leave her like that? You're her boyfriend!"
Sam looked at Colby shocked and then back towards Kat. " I don't need you to fight my battles for me, Colby," said Sam. " Just come find me next time."
" It would've been too late," said Colby, angrily. " Would you rather have me just sit back and watch? Would that have been better, cause I'm sure Kat would disagree."
" Why do you always have to play the hero?" asked Sam, annoyed. "Is it for attention?"
" Attention? Are you kidding me right now?" asked Colby, raising his voice." Do you even hear yourself right now? How could you even say that? You're just mad I was able to protect your girlfriend better than you did."
Colby hadn't even had time to register what was happening when Sam's fist collided with his face, sending him to the ground. Colby's hand flew to his jaw, he looked up at Sam, shocked.
" Fuck you!" said Sam, nearly in tears.
" Sam, what is wrong with you?" yelled Kat.
Sam loosened as he looked at Kat and then at Colby on the ground. The look of sadness and realization of what he had just done on his face.
" Colby, I...I'm sorry," he said calmly. Sam stepped towards him and Colby stood up and looked at Sam. He saw the look of hurt on his best friend's face.
" Fine! That's it!" said Colby angrily. "I'm done playing hero for you, for any of you! You can find your own ride home!"
Colby then pushed past Sam, nearly knocking him off balance, walking in the opposite direction of the club and turning the corner.
Sam yelled after him. " Colby, wait!" he said. Sam tried to follow him.
Kat placed a hand on Sam's shoulder, stopping him. " You should let him go," said Kat. " I think he just needs some time to calm down. I think you both do."
Sam sat on the curb of the road with his head in his hands. Kat sat down beside him, resting a gentle hand on his knee.
" Are you alright?" asked Sam.
" I am," said Kat. " I'm lucky Colby was there."
" I should've been there," said Sam. " Colby was right. Katrina, I'm so sorry."
" It's okay, I forgive you," said Kat. " You should forgive Colby too."
" He probably hates me right now," said Sam.
" I don't think Colby could hate anyone, let alone you," explained Kat. " He'll come around. He's your best friend."
" I hope you're right," said Sam.
" Hey beautiful," said Kyle. Sam and Kat both whipped their heads to the side, seeing a guy walking up to them.
" Sam, that's the guy," said Kat worriedly. " That's the guy who was harassing me."
Both of them quickly stood up, and Sam stepped in front of Kat, pushing her protectively behind him. They turned to walk the other way, but more guys emerged from behind the club. Sam was protectively guarding Kat as they were surrounded.
" Let's try this again," said Kyle. " Now that we're away from prying eyes." Kyle had an evil smirk on his face. " You must be the boyfriend. I'm just gonna borrow your girl for a second, this shouldn't take long."
" Like hell!" yelled Sam.
Sam tried his best to shield Katrina, but she was grabbed from behind by two other guys. Sam was forcefully thrown to the ground. Kat screamed for Sam as she was dragged away. Sam was kicked and beaten on the ground by two of Kyle's friends as he went to join his other friends in an alley not far from them.
Sam could hear Katrina screaming and crying, then muffling sounds as one of the guys covered her mouth. Sam wasn't going down without a fight. Fighting through the pain, he immediately got up and started throwing punches, eventually knocking both guys out. He caught up to Katrina as they dragged her into the alley. However, when Sam turned the corner, he was met with a crowbar to the gut. He instantly collapsed to his knees, holding his stomach. He was given an uppercut straight to the face, landing hard on his back on the cement of the alleyway.
" Sam!" yelled Kat.
One of Kyle's friends forcefully stepped on Sam's chest. "Perfect," said Kyle. " Now your boyfriend can watch us have some fun with you."
" You motherfucker!" yelled Sam. The friend stepped on Sam's chest harder, keeping him pinned and unable to move, though Sam tried hard to get this guy off of him.
Katrina screamed as Kyle and several of the other guys surrounded her. Sam shut his eyes tightly, not wanting to watch. Hearing Katrina's scream hurt him more than anything. He suddenly heard the sound of thudding, as if someone hit the ground. Sam looked over at the group of guys surrounding Kat, and he watched as one by one they went down.
Colby was standing there, with a steel pipe he had found in the back alley. Colby forcefully hit Kyle across the face with the pipe, instantly knocking him out. Sam looked at him out cold on the ground. Katrina was safely guarded behind Colby. Once they were taken care of, Colby turned his attention to the last guy with his foot currently on his best friend's chest. Colby shot him a death glare.
The friend panicked, stepping onto Sam's chest harder as Colby approached. "Don't come any closer," said the guy. His voice was shaky and panicked.
Colby assumed this guy thought he wouldn't do anything, but he completely caught the guy off guard as he marched towards him, with a look that could kill on his face. The guy instantly ran away, stumbling as he did, not looking back for a second.
Sam let out a huge breath and then several short ones as his breathing slowly started to regulate once again. Suddenly, there was an outstretched hand at his side. Colby's hand, offering to help him up. Sam happily grabbed it and Colby helped him up.
" Are you good, dude?" asked Colby. "Look Sam, I'm sorry, I felt so bad about what I said, you were right. I was just on my way back to apologize when I heard you guys and I'm sorry, I couldn't just watch, it's not in me, I had to do some-".
Colby was interrupted as Sam's hands flew around him, bringing him into a massive hug. Colby was surprised at this reaction but then quickly returned the hug.
" Thank you," said Sam, almost in tears. " Thank you for coming back. Thank you for everything."
" I'll always come back," said Colby. "Everytime."
Sam pulled away from Colby as Kat came up behind them. "My heroes," she said.
Sam instantly pulled her into a loving hug, wrapping his arms gently and protectively around her.
All of them were still shaky as they headed back to Colby's car. It had been a long night and in the end, they ended up being glad Colby had gotten banned from the club, because they weren't sure they ever wanted to come back to this one again.
