The lost is found
Chases POV:
What the fuck is he doing here. He doesn't even live here.
I haven't seen this guy in 5 years. Last time I talked to him was when I moved out. I have 2 older bothers. Both doctors. One of them, Tristan, my other brother keeps in contact with the family. My other one, Fred, stopped talking to the entire family except Tristan.
Fred is an asshole. He always has been. He brags about how great his life is and how terrible everyone else's life is.
I'm glad he lost contact with me. I'd rather not see him ever again. My parents were devestes when he never showed up to family dinners on holidays, he never seemed to be fazed though.
Charli: "your brother?"
She turned to him and put out her hand.
I stepped in front of her before he could shake it.
Chase: "what are you doing here."
Fred: "I moved here."
Oh you gotta be joking.
Chase: "what do you mean you moved here?"
Fred: "I left Washington. I got offered a new job here"
Of course he did.
This is just great.
Fred: "so who's this? Your casual hookup? Your escort?"
Because he can't believe I have a girlfriend.
Charli: "actually I'm his girlfriend."
He laughed
Fred: "like Chase could ever get a girlfriend"
I can and I have. I even got 2.
Charli: "Well he has and I don't see a ring on your finger so I assume you don't have a wife yet? What are you? Pushing your 50s? Better hurry up"
I covered my mouth with my face trying not to laugh
I don't think I've ever liked her more.
Fred: "for your information I'm only 36."
Charli: "really?"
I laughed
Chase: "so you don't have a wife, and I assume you don't have a girlfriend because look at you. So how could you not believe me when I say I have a girlfriend, when you don't even have one."
He rolled his eyes
Fred: "I don't think it counts if you've been dating for what? 3 days I'm guessing?"
I looked at charli and she looked infuriated. Almost more then me.
Charli: "actually, we've been dating for 4 years. We're expecting too"
She lifted her shirt and my brothers eyes widened
Fred: "my little brother is having a child?"
I'm actually so happy charli has thought of this. My life is actually looking better then his. I have a beautiful girlfriend and a baby on the way while he's got no girlfriend or family. Sad.
Fred: "wow. I'm in pure shock."
He really thought I'd fail at life.
Fred: "so what do you do?"
Uh. Never mind.
Chase: "Um I actually-"
Charli: "he's a real estate agent. Last year he made 5.2 million. It's crazy really, he started from nothing and only a few years later he's the best real estate agent I know"
She laughed
Uh- I think this is going a bit too far
Fred: "wow- um. That's crazy."
I smiled slightly
Charli: "what do you do?"
She already knows what he does.
Fred: "I'm actually a doctor"
Charli: "what type?"
I actually don't know the answer to this. He was only in his residency when I left.
Fred: "pediatrics"
Charli: "wow. A pediatric surgeon? That's amazing"
He shook his head
Fred: "no a pediatric doctor"
She laughed
Charli: "oh."
Wow she is really trying to make him feel bad about himself. I love it.
Fred: "what?"
Charli: "nothing, it's just that's the easiest specialty"
He raised and eyebrow
I could tell he was getting mad
Charli: "I thought you were saving lives. But I was wrong, you're just doing checkups on little kids"
He looked extremely offended
I never wanted to kiss a girl so bad in my life
Fred: "wow Chase. You managed to pick a girl who's almost as careless as you."
She's not Careless. She's the opposite. If she didn't care about me then she wouldn't have attacked my brother like that.
I wrapped my arm around her shoulder
Chase: "if you don't mind. We have some working out to do. Maybe get a new gym membership somewhere else? Well, it's not like I'd see you here often anyways. Clearly."
I looked at him head to toe
Weak.
He grinned his teeth
Fred: "you don't even wanna know where I live? I'm your family"
Chase: "family doesn't abandon you."
He isn't my family.
Chase: "you aren't my family and frankly I don't want you anywhere near mine."
I grabbed Charlis hand and pulled her to the other side of the gym
Charli: "he seems like a total asshole"
Chase: "he is."
I grabbed her face and kissed her
Chase: "thanks for telling him those lies. The look on his face made my year"
She smiled and kissed me
Some guy who works at the gym came up to us and I got scared he'd kick charli out
Trent: "hi my names Trent, we're doing a deal at the gym right now. 50% off personal training today. 6 dollars per Hour for a session today."
I looked at charli and she nodded
Charli: "please. I need help."
I laughed
Chase: "I will pay for her."
She smiled
Trent: "great! Let's get started. What do you want to work on?"
Charli: "well, I'm pregnant and I have cancer. So I'm pretty much bad at everything"
His eyes widened. He laughed awkwardly
Trent: "alright. Well you probably need to stretch before you do your workout"
She nodded
I will sit and watch.
I sat down on a bench and took my water out to watch the show.
Trent: "let's start with side reach. Just reach your arm up and to the side"
She did as he said and I watched her and smiled.
God damn.
He grabbed her waist and I flinched a bit
It's fine. It's just a stretch. They are paid to do that.
Trent: "great job, do the same on the other side. Do you feel the stretch in your core?"
She nodded then did the other side
Trent: "next I want you to touch your toes. This will give you a stretch in your back"
She struggled a bit to get down but she did it
I took a sip of my water
Trent put his hands on her legs and then moved them up to her ass
My water came flying out of my mouth
Nope. Not happening.
I don't care if that's his job. I want a new trainer.
I stood up pushed him out of the way
Chase: "could we get a new trainer?"
Charli stared at me and rolled her eyes
Charli: "chase-"
Chase: "no we want a new one."
Trent looked confused
Trent: "I'm confused? Did I do something?"
Really.
Chase: "you had your hands on my girlfriends ass. I want a girl trainer."
Trent: "man, I was just doing my job-"
Does it look like I care? No?
Chase: "I want a girl trainer"
He sighed
Trent: "fine. I will get you a female."
He walked away and I smiled
I turned to charli and she looked annoyed
Charli: "was that really necessary?"
I nodded
Chase: "I could tell he wasn't a good trainer anyway"
Charli: "sure"
A new trainer walked towards us and she was female
Great.
Emma: "hi my name is Emma. I will be your new trainer"
Charli: "okay"
I walked back over to the bench and watched
Emma: "let's go from where you left off?"
Charli nodded and struggled to bend down to her toes
Emma: "great. Maybe just move your legs a bit further apart so it's easier"
She did what she said then put her hands on her legs, she moved them up to her ass-
It's fine. She's a girl.
I looked at her touch charli for a bit longer and then I realized something
Charli also likes girls-
I stood up and looked at the trainer
Chase: "I think that's enough training for the day. You can leave now? How long was that? 30 seconds? Here's 5 cents."
I handed her a 5 cent I had in my pocket
Charli: "Chase are you kidding me."
Emma: "are you sure that's all you want?"
I nodded
Chase: "thanks, bye"
I grabbed Charlis hand and pulled her away
Charli: "what was wrong with her??"
Chase: "she was touching your ass"
She rolled her eyes
Charli: "it's their job!"
Chase: "I will be your trainer then??"
She laughed
Charli: "fine whatever"

Once we walked back from the gym
I thought about my brother who I hadn't seen or heard of in years
I'm glad I saw him today because all this time I compared myself to him and his life. I thought about how great his life was compared to mine. But in reality, he should be comparing his life to mine. Maybe I'm not a big shot real estate agent with a lot of money but charli is carrying my child and she is my girlfriend.
And when you think about it, who's life sounds better.
Having a great paying job but coming home after work to no one. Sleeping in your bed at night alone and then doing it all over again
Or having no job, being a little broke, but coming home to the people you love.
Charli: "do you think if I get abs I won't have extra skin after pregnancy?"
Chase: "extra skin isn't even permanent. It would go away in a few weeks."
I'm not sure what to do in this situation. I can keep telling her she's gorgeous but there's no point if she won't believe me.
I think it's something she's got to deal with on her own and if taking her to the gym helps her then Il do that.
Charli: "I know but i don't want it for a few weeks."
Chase: "why not"
She shrugged
Charli: "because then I wouldn't be able to look at myself for a few weeks"
I frowned
It's sad what this world had come to.
Charli: "and I wouldn't want anyone else looking at me either"
Chase: "well if you really want to, yes. I think a cardio routine could minimize it."
She smiled
Charli: "great"
I really do wish she could see what I see
Chase: "you hungry?"
She hesitated then answered no. Which meant yes but she doesn't want to gain weight.
Chase: "great. I brought food"
Charli: "Chase I said no"
I grabbed her arm and pulled her onto the bench
Chase: "don't worry it's healthy"
I pulled out some granola bars
Charli: "fine"
I gave her one and she inhaled it
Sheesh. She really is hungry.
Chase: "so, tell me about you"
I pretty much know everything about her. Every single thing a friend needs to know. I know. We spend a lot of time doing absolutely nothing but talking in the hospital. As a friend I know everything I need to know, but as her boyfriend I want to know more.
Chase: "tell me everything. You're first kiss. Your exes. First love"
She smiled
Charli: "sure. My first kiss was a guy named Willam. I was 18. Yes. I had my first kiss at 18. It's when I really started to except myself and the way I looked, I finally let people in. He was sweet, I had just gone to university and I knew nobody. He helped me move my stuff in and he was my first friend there. One thing led to another and he kissed me. We dated a week before he took my virginity and then we broke up a week after that."
Wow. 18 before she had her first boyfriend.
Charli: "my ex-boyfriends were William, and then some other guy who's name was Wyatt who I dated for a few months in university and then a guy named dexter. All complete nerds who were horrible at sex. And then Ivan of course."
Wow. She's only dated 5 guys including me?
Chase: "only 4 people?"
Charli: "no"
But she just said-
Charli: "I said I had 4 ex boyfriends."
Oh.
Charli: "i hadn't figured out my sexuality till I went to a party and I kissed a girl. Obviously things back then weren't as okay as they are now. People would get bullied for that sorta stuff plus I wasn't even sure what my sexuality was. I knew I liked guys. So it was weird for me. The first time I had a girlfriend was after ivan and I broke up for the first time. I dated a girl named jo. She was great and for the time being it was great. Until I needed more and so did she. She wanted someone who was fully into girls and I wanted someone who could let me have both. So we broke up"
Oh wow. Okay. There's actually a lot I don't know about her then.
Charli: "when Ivan and I broke up all those times I'd usually go off and date another girl. But they all broke up with me for the same reason. I couldn't have one gender."
Interesting.
Charli: "okay and lastly... uh. First love? Probably you."
What?
Chase: "what do you mean me?"
Charli: "when we slept together when I was 21."
Are you serious?
Chase: "you fell in love with me??"
Charli: "yup..."
