Also just a random question. If you were to read a demon slayer fanfic ( or just an action fanfic in general ) which would you be more inclined to read? One with an oc being the mc or one with y/n being the mc? If you chose y/n, how much freedom would you want to have with them? Would you want to be able to almost completely control their appearance or would you want to leave some things to the author? Would you mind it if the author gave y/n attributes you wouldn't be able to control? For example, the author chose y/n to have black hair but you didn't want them to have black hair.

How would they react to finding out your previous significant other lost their life to a demon? 🤔

Giyu Tomioka
Giyu always wondered why you'd freak out whenever he had to go on a mission that would last more than a day. But, instead of asking, I see him just like pushing your weird behavior off as you being a worried girlfriend and going on with his day. Once you told him the truth however, he felt bad. He had no idea he was making you so worried and from now on, he'll try his best to keep the mission short so he can come back sooner.
Obanai Iguro
There's definitely a chance Obanai would question why you're being so clingy but if you didn't tell him the truth, he'd most likely learn about the incident from your brother, Sanemi. He wouldn't talk to you about it either, he'd just kinda keep quiet and let you build up the courage to tell him ( again ). Although, you'd probably find out that he knows something eventually 'cause he'll just apologize for worrying you and let you shower him in your overbearing care.
Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri would absolutely have no clue why you'd get so anxious whenever she had to go on a long mission but would never question you about it. Once you sit her down and tell her the reason behind your behavior, she'd probably cry too. She feels so bad that you had to go through that ( such a sad end to such a beautiful relationship at that! ) and promises with all her heart to be more careful from now on. She'll even take you out to eat after if her mission takes longer than a day.
Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu would have her sneaking suspicions but would never call you out on it ( If you wanted her to know, you would tell her ). She'd just let you dot on her until you finally work up your courage to tell her. When you do though, she's very understanding. She often does the same to Kanao due to the losses of her tsuguko's and Kanae.
She may not be able to promise she'll come back from every mission completely unscathed but she can promise she'll be more careful in her future mission to better ease your mind.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi is definitely the type to call you out on your weird ( doting ) behavior but once you tell him, he feels like complete shit. I mean, you probably weren't ready to tell him that so he already feels bad for forcing the truth out of you ( and it's even worse when he learns that the only reason you were acting this way was due to losing someone you loved ). He'll apologize of course and'll just let you take care of him from now on. I mean, it's not like he completely hated having your full attention on him and only him.
Kyojuro Rengoku
I see Kyojuro being completely oblivious to your behavior until you sit him down and talk to him about it. Of course he's fully understanding, giving you comfort hugs and such if he sees you start tearing up. He'll try to keep the missions as short as possible but if he can't, he'll at least send you a letter or two to help ease your anxiety.
Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro travels a lot ( and I mean a LOT ) so your anxiety is through the roof almost 24/7. He'd always get this sense of overwhelming anxiety from you which would quickly wash over into relief every time he visits. I see him asking about it ( in a nice and respectable way ofc ), but if you don't want to talk about it he completely understands and won't question you anymore about it. And if you want him too, he'll send you letters as much as he can, maybe that would help with whatever's making you so anxious.
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro probably wouldn't notice your odd behavior ( nor would he really care if he did notice ). You'd probably have to sit him down and talk to him for him to fully grasp things as well. He's sad that you had to go through such a loss and'll comfort you as best he can. If he has the option to he'll take on the easier missions until you can cope with your trauma or just let you overwhelm him with your worried affections and care ( He'd actually prefer the latter but it's really up to which helps you more ).
Yuichiro Tokito
Yuichiro is 100% the type to quickly get annoyed with your overly caring and anxious behavior. It could even cause a few disputes between you two. Once you tell him why you act like this however he'd feel kinda awkward. I mean, he's been complaining about you smothering him when all you were doing was making sure he's alright. He feels guilty almost and from now on will just let you smother him. If it eases your nerves he could really care less. Besides, he didn't completely hate your overbearingness ( he kinda found it sweet ).
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu would probably notices your behavior but wouldn't really care because he loves it. I mean, for you to pull him into a hug or cover his face in kisses every time he visits you is like a dream come true for him.
If you decide to share your story with him, I definitely see him bursting into tears. You lost someone important to you, that's horrible! Depending on your current predicament he may even offer for you to travel alongside him for a while ( just until you can push pass your problems ) and if that's not possible then he can send you letters on how he's doing. Maybe even some gifts if they visit a village and he comes across something you might like.
Kanao Tsuyuri
Kanao would definitely notice your overbearing care whenever she came back from a long mission. You would freak out if she had even a little scratch and nearly cry if she broke something. She didn't really mind it however and just brushed it off as you being worried for her well being. If you choose to tell her what happened she'll promise to be more careful when out fighting demons. It may not sway your growing fears but until she can think of something to maybe help you thats all she can do.
Inosuke Hashibira
Others would probably notice how clingy you are to Inosuke before Inosuke does himself. He doesn't really mind your attention as long as you don't get in his way of fighting. He probably wouldn't have the best reaction to you explaining why you act like this as well. I see him just brushing it off or something like that. However, the way he carries himself in battle and the way he almost immediately wants to visit you after a fight is proof that he cares.
Nezuko Kamado
I don't see Nezuko noticing anything weird about your behavior if you traveled with her. You're just like her brother in her eyes, nervous about her well being and caring whenever she gains a wound. I don't see that changing either even if you didn't travel with them and, you'd probably have to tell her if you want her to know. When you do she'll cling to you as well ( if you travel with her ) and just stay relatively close to you. If you didn't travel with her she'd get her brother or Zenitsu to write you letters. The last thing she wants is for you to stress and if that means she always has to be around you or nag her friends or brother to write you letters, than so be it.
Gyomei Himejima
I see Gyomei asking about things as soon as he notices how much you stress and care for him when he visits after a mission. He's not the best at comfort either if you decide to tell him. He'll just be like "If it's my time then it's my time" but depending on how much he thinks it'll upset you he may not say it. He'll buy you things that he thinks may help with your anxiety but besides that there's not much he can do. Maybe he'll pay Shinobu a visit, she may have some ideas that'll help..
Kanae Kocho
Like her sisters, Kanae would notice how much you'd freak out when she didn't write you letters whenever she was out on a mission ( even if she was only patrolling the village up the road ) or when you'd stress over the simplest wounds she'd get. She'll probably come up with her on hypothesis but if you decide to tell her she'd be more than happy to listen! She may get a little teary-eyed but she'll stay strong for you as you tell your story and'll promise to be as careful as she can from now on. If you want, she can even write a little journal for you to read when she's away. It'll hopefully help at least distract you until she gets back.
