The second Rick pulled up to the prison he
told Maggie to continue to drive up to the prison as Rick sprung out of the car and pulled his son in for a hug, Carl hugging back just as tightly, having missed his father a lot.  Jackson wanted to stay with Rick to talk with Carol, but he had no idea what he would say to the woman, and he really didn't wanna leave Mason's and Kassie's sides. It felt strange to come back without his brother - like none of this was real, he wished Daryl could have come back with him, but if he knew his brother at all, he knew that Daryl couldn't leave Merle alone in the woods to survive, especially since he has one hand.
Jax just couldn't bring himself to leave - he wasn't the same boy he used to be, the one that Merle knew before he had been separated from them all, he was different, he had opened up to the group, and called them his family now.
As much as he hated to admit it, but Merle just wasn't his family anymore. In this world, blood doesn't mean anything, especially when your brother is friends with a man like the Governor and an abusive asshole.

Rick watched the car pass him, then he
turned to Carol when she had asked where Daryl was. "He's alright. He's alive" He assured
her. "He ran into his brother, they went off." He
informed her.

"But Jax stayed? Even when Daryl and Merle went off?" Carl asked his father, confused at why Jax wouldn't go with his two brothers.

Rick sighed, nodding, "He stayed" he told Carl, "He wanted to go with them, but he couldn't leave us all, especially after he found the girl he likes from the woods" Rick said, smiling sadly as Carl just looked plain confused until he registered what his father said, Jax had told Carl so much about the girl from the woods.
He liked the older boy, he had been friendly
with him back on the farm, and he actually liked
him.

Carol hadn't taken the news any better, upset that Daryl had left her, too, and as they walked up the hill as she silently cried , upset she would never get to see her friend again. As the three reached the top of the hill they were met with the sight of everyone who had stayed behind, Maggie was in a tight embrace with her father and younger sister. Mason and Kassiopeia were still in the car afraid of what the group might think of the two. Maggie looked over to the car and sighed softly at the sight of the two kids trying to hide themselves in the car. Jackson walked over to the car and opened the door for the twins and they slowly came out of the car, "Dad who are they?" Carl asked as he reached for his gun, Rick caught his hand before looking at everyone.

"These two are the reason we got to Maggie and Glenn in time" Rick explained to the group as Mason slowly slid out of the backseat with his twin sister whom was awake now but had some trouble standing on her own."They are one of us now" Rick finished as he looked back to the two teens with a soft look before looking to Hershel, "you think you could take a look at her Hershel?" Hershel nodded as Maggie walked over to the girl and tried to placer her hand on Kassiopeia's shoulder. Kassie flinched away as she saw Maggie's hand raise to her, Kassiopeia knew the woman would never hurt her but it was something the girl has done since she arrived at Woodbury and became a guard for the town. She had seen many beatings because she never knew when to hold her tongue around the men in the group when they talked about things that just weren't right. Mason stepped forward slightly showing that he would walk her in, he didn't know these people but he was indented to them for saving him and his sister. They seemed like good people but the people in Woodbury seemed good to until they showed their true colors. Maggie nodded in understanding as to what the boy ment, she motioned for the twins to follow them inside.

They walked into a cell block with tables and walked past a group of what looked like more members of the group, as Maggie moved to open another door that probably led to the groups sleeping quarters a black woman stood and looked over the two twins. "Is she ok?" The black woman asked as Hershel looked from her then to her group, he shook his head slightly before hopping into the other part of the cell block.

The Greene family led the twins to an empty room on the second floor after they stopped for some medical supplies. Kassie was sat on the bottom bunk as Mason leaned on the wall closest to the door, "is it ok if I take a look over everything?" Kassie looked to Maggie to see if she would do it instead.

Maggie kneeled before the girl as she took her hand in her's, "he won't hurt you darlin, I promise" she said softly as her thumb ran over Kassies knuckles.

Mason looked to his sister before leaving the room to go talk to Rick, Kassiopeia watched her brother leave the room, "okay what hurts that hasn't already been checked?" Hershel asked after he finished examining everything that was visually discolored, the various lacerations across her face and her broken collarbone. Kassie looked to the man before she moved her right arm to motion to her sides, Hershel nodded shortly before lightly examining her ribs. Hershel didn't feel anything off on her left side but when he moved to her right side  he felt that two of her ribs were cracked, "good news is your left side is okay, but your right side has two cracked ribs" he said softly, "she landed on her left side when that man dropped her to the floor" Hershel nodded with a frown plastered on his face. Hershel looked back to Kassiopeia and lightly patted her knee, "other than that your left collarbone should heal quickly and for the bruising and cuts on your face should be gone within a week or two- welcome to our group dear. Your safe with us" Hershel finished with a smile and motioned for his daughters to follow him as Mason walked back in with their bags and started to pull some things out for them.

When the Greene reappeared back downstairs where everyone was waiting for their return , everyone waited until they were outside in the courtyard to talk about the twins. "Well how bad is she Hershel?" Carol asked as the sight of the girl truly showed them what this Governor was willing to do just to find them.

"She's got two cracked ribs cuts all over her face and I don't ever know the extent of her bruising, who would do that much damage to a kid?!" Hershel was upset to say the least, if that had happened to his girls there would be hell to pay.

Maggie shifted slightly as only she, the twins and the Governor's men knew what had gone down in the room she was held in, "she was sent to question me and her people didn't care if I had killed her nor did she- she's been told she's expendable by her group. So when she sat talking to me and not at me Merle and a Mexican looking man came into the room and the man started to beat her- because she was treating me like a human being- for all I know is they could have beat me but they did it to her instead. I owe that girl my life" Maggie said as she relieved the moment the beating started and listened to her take it silently until he pulled his gun on her. "That man pulled a gun on her because she wasn't questioning me- I'm not letting her or her brother leave this group, hell I don't even wanna let them out of my sight!" Maggie stammered out at the thought of the two saying they would leave the prison as soon as she was able to.

Rick nodded in agreement, "you think we can trust them?" Maggie nodded immediately, "I'll look after her. She needs someone she can trust, and I think it should be us" Maggie motioned around the group as she said the last part. Rick nodded again, "so they stay, no if's ands or but's, they're one of us now" Rick said as he looked around the group one last time before dismissing everyone once more.

Maggie walked back into the cell block with her father and baby sister as she pulled out a picture she had taken from the farm house, it was a picture of her and her siblings, Beth, Shawn, Brandon and herself. They were out riding their horses when Hershel decided he needed a picture of all his kids together, Maggie smiled at the picture before she climbed up the stairs to the second story. She walked over the the cell she left the twins in only to see Mason passed out on the top bunk and Kassiopeia laid out on the floor. At the sound of Maggie's boots she looked up, "what did your leader have to say about us?" She asked with a horse tone that was less scratchy then before.

Maggie gave a small smile as she motioned asking if she could sit with her, Kassie nodded as she gave a faint smile, "you two are one of us now, no ifs and or buts your safe with us" Maggie said as she lightly grabbed Kassie's hand, "they will never hurt you again" Maggie said sternly.

Kassiopeia felt surprised that someone other then her brother cared about her life, in a slow motion Kassie pulled Maggie into a side hug as she leaned her head on the woman's shoulder. Kassiopeia smiled slightly as she felt Maggie hug her back lightly, "thank you" Kassiopeia said lightly.

Maggie smiled as she turned her head slightly to look at the girl, "so you ready for supper?" Kassie smiled at the idea of not having to scavenging for her next meal, she was starting to like not having goon off on her own.

Maggie pulled herself to stand before turning back to Kassiopeia and extending her hand to the girl, the girl gladly took the woman's hand as she tried to gently pull her up. Maggie walked over to the cell door as Kassie lightly shook her brother who's eyes instantly snapped open, "dinner" she whispered softly as he relaxed and nodded before slowly climbing down. Mason stretched out his tired limbs as Kassie stretched out her hand towards her brother, he smiled lightly as he took her hand and they followed Maggie out of the cell and down to the dining area. When they reached the room everyone turned to look at them as Maggie took Kassie's free hand and led them over the Hershel and Beth. Beth and Hershel gave warm smiles as the twins sat at the table, Glenn suddenly walked into the room looking longingly at Maggie before managing a small smile for the twins. Maggie looked to the table as Glenn passed them and headed outside, Carol walked over to the table with plates of what looked like beans and rice. Carol handed the plates off around the table before she put two aside for what Kassie and Mason assumed was for Glenn and Rick, who were not in the room. Kassie looked down at her food before picking up her plate, she tried to pick up the second plate but stoped when Carol gave a small smile and grabbed the plate of food for her.

"You taking food out to Glenn?" Carol asked with a smile as the girl nodded and gave a sheepish smile, "Then lead the way sweetheart" carol said softly.

Kassie nodded before walking to the door Glenn had just left out of, Carol opened the door for her and walked over to the nearest picnic table and placed the food down. Kassie gave a grateful smile to the older woman who smiled back at her and have her a thumbs up before she disappeared back inside the prison. Kassiopeia walked over to Glenn who was stood looking over the field, "I'll eat if you do" Kassie's voice croaked as she walked over to the man,

Glenn looked over to her with a small smile, "and what are you doing out here? You should be inside with the others" he asked softly.

Kassie looked over the beaten man then looking over herself, "what can I say you've grown on me" she said with a smile. Glenn let out a small laugh as he looked over to the door again, "she won't stay mad forever if that's what your worried about" Kassiopeia said as she sat down at the table and placed her plate down in front of her.

Glenn shook his head slightly, "I know but she's all I've got, other then the group of course. But I love her-" he suddenly stopped himself as he played with his food, "I never got to thank you and your brother for saving us back at woodsbury" he said with a small grateful smile.

"It was nothing, we deserve to live if the dead can live again too- I just never realised some people were worse off then the dead" Kassie said softly before taking a spoon full of rice and beans.

"We just need a reason to stay alive, and I've got two more reasons to be alive" Glenn said softly as he took Kassiopeia's hand in his, "we are the ones who live and fight to keep the world alive, just because some shity people have made it this far doesn't mean they won't get what's coming to them" Kassie nodded along with Glenn's words as he pulled her into his side and hugged her to him. Kassie smiled lightly as she relished in the embrace before they pulled apart and started to eat their food while telling a few jokes as they took in the new sense of peace that seemed to surround them
