Third Person:
When Nezuko wakes up, he grabs Tanjiro's jacket which is wrapped around him. He's surprised to see him alive. He has a bamboo muzzle on and is asleep.
Swordswoman: You awake?
Nezuko gasps and sees the swordswoman leaning against a tree. She hugs Tanjiro quickly.
Swordswoman: Get to mount sagiri as soon as possible. Look for an old man named Sakonji Urokodaki. When you find him, tell him Tsutako Tomioka sent you. It's cloudy, so he seems to be alright at the moment, but never let him be exposed to sunlight.
The swordswoman disappears in a flash. Nezuko stares blankly. She didn't kill him. She didn't kill Tanjiro.
Tanjiro and Nezuko go back home. After burying their family, Nezuko stands up.
Nezuko: Let's go.
They start to run, beginning their crazy journey.
Nezuko: Pardon me sir. Would it be okay if I took that basket, straw, and some bamboo?
Man: You're more than welcome to it, but that basket's full of holes.
Nezuko: Thank you. I'll gladly pay you for it.
Man: No, you're don't have to do that, I don't need it anyway.
Nezuko: Oh, are you sure?
Man: Mm. You can have the bamboo and straw for free, too.
Nezuko: We'll thank you sir!
Man: No problem.
Nezuko takes them and runs to a cave with the supplies.
Nezuko: Tanjiro? Huh, Tanjiro?
He's gone! Nezuko thinks.
Tanjiro's head pops out of a hole in the ground.
Oh, there he is.
Tanjiro mumbles under his muzzle.
Nezuko: Hey Tanjiro...
He dug a hole? Is my demon kid brother turning into a mole now? And he doesn't look very happy about it either. I guess he really wants to avoid the sunlight.
Nezuko: Wait there for just a second.
Nezuko starts weaving the bamboo skin around the basket. Once she's finished, the basket is now completely covered in bamboo and string.
Nezuko: Tanjiro, Tanjiro. Think you can fit inside this? I think we should move during the day too. But I can carry you, okay?
Tanjiro: Mmm.
Nezuko: Can you fit, in here? Basket?
Tanjiro crawls out of his hole and into the basket. He can't really fit in it.
Nezuko: Guess not.
Tanjiro's growing up so fast! It feels like he half that size yesterday.
Nezuko gasps and thinks of an idea.
Nezuko: Hey Tanjiro? Remember how you become big like an adult the other day? Do you think you could get smaller?
Nezuko starts patting Tanjiro's back.
Nezuko: C'mon Tanjiro. Get smaller!
Tanjiro flips himself and the basket upwards and shrinks.
Nezuko: Nice job!
Nezuko starts rubbing Tanjiro's head.
Nezuko: Who's a good boy? You are Tanjiro. I'm impressed.
Nezuko carried Tanjiro up the mountain. He wrapped a cloth around it so Tanjiro wouldn't be exposed to sunlight.
Woman: Mount Sagiri? If you really want to go there the fastest way is over that mountain, but the sun's about to set. And your holding a lot of luggage. It's dangerous.
Nezuko asked if a woman could tell her how to get to mount sagiri quickly.
Nezuko: It's fine. I'll be careful. Thank you very much.
Woman: A lot of people have been going missing on that mountain lately. Don't get lost, okay?
Nezuko waves at the woman and she waves back.
It's dark so Nezuko no longer has to hold Tanjiro. They walk up the mountain and then stop.
Nezuko: Huh. It's a temple up there. It looks like the lights been left on, so someone must be there. Let's check it out.
Tanjiro starts to look up a bit surprised.
Nezuko: Tanjiro what's wrong?
Tanjiro smells something. But what is it?
Nezuko: This path looks rough. Someone must be hurt.
Nezuko and Tanjiro run up the stairs. Nezuko opens the sliding doors and and calls out.
Nezuko: Is everyone okay?
What Nezuko saw horrified her. She saw a demon in front of two dead men.
Demon: The hell are you doing here? This is my territory. Anybody who steps foot on my turf, is gonna have to pay!
It's a demon!
Tanjiro looks at the dead bodies surprised and starts drooling.
Demon: Something's quite not right about you. Hang on, are you two humans?
Nezuko and the demon stare at each other. The demon ends up tackling Nezuko to the ground. Nezuko uses her hatchet to cut his chin. The demon jumps up and chuckles.
Demon: A hatchet? Not bad. Just a little scratch though, should heal in no time.
The demon's cut slowly heals.
Demon: See that? The bleeding's stopped already.
Nezuko gasps. Tanjiro stares at the dead bodies still drooling. His hands are clenched and he's breathing heavily. The demon pins Nezuko to ground with his right on her neck and his left on her right arm where her hatchet is.
He's so fast! And unbelievably strong!
Demon: You got lucky but it won't work again! And now, I'm gonna snap your neck.
Tanjiro continues to stare and drool. His pupils change shape. He runs up to the demon and kicks its head off.
Nezuko uncomfortably pushes his body off of her. He looks at Tanjiro surprised.
He... Tanjiro you killed him! Wait a minute, he's a demon...
Nezuko: Tanjiro...
The demon was about to grab Nezuko but Tanjiro kicks his body away.
I don't believe it! Did that body just move without its head?
Demon: You bastards! So the boy's a demon after all? I couldn't tell what that weird vibe you gave me was. But what're you doing teaming up with a human?!
How's he still talking?!
The demons body runs towards them. It jumps up and attacks Tanjiro.
Nezuko: Leave him alone!
Nezuko was about to swing her hatchet at the demons body when the demon's head crawls behind her and jumps up.
Nezuko swings her hatchet towards it. The demons head puts his mouth on it.
Nezuko: Tanjiro!
The demon pushes Tanjiro down. Then he kicks his chest, then his face. Then he picks Tanjiro up by the shoulder and throws her into the woods.
Nezuko: Tanjiro!
Nezuko looks at the demon who grins at her.
What's up with this guy? He grew arms out of the side of his head. I gotta help Tanjiro!
Nezuko: Out of the way!
Nezuko kicks the demons head off of her. Tanjiro head-butts, she kicks.
So hard! The demon groans. This kids foot is so hard.
Nezuko throws the demon head and it gets pinned to a tree.
Wrapping my hair around her hatchet wasn't a great idea. Damn.
Nezuko runs towards the woods.
Nezuko: Tanjiro! Where are you?
Nezuko keeps running when she finally finds Tanjiro. He's being kicked by the demon's body.
Nezuko: Stop it!
Nezuko pushes the demon's body. This causes them both to fall off the cliff.
Nezuko was about to fall but Tanjiro grabs the back of her jacket. She watches the demon's body fall down.
Nezuko and Tanjiro go back to the area where the decapitated demon is. Nezuko pulls out a knife.
I wonder, how many demons are there. I don't think he killed my family, but I still gotta finish him off, or he'll kill more people! I have to do it!
Nezuko pants heavily while Tanjiro watches.
Just do it.
Suddenly a hand touches Nezuko's shoulder. She turns around and is shocked to see a masked man.
Man: That knife isn't going to do the job.
What's with the mask? And, I couldn't hear his footsteps!
Nezuko: Oh okay. How do I finish him off?
Man: Think for yourself. Aren't you capable of solving your own problem?
Nezuko gasps at his words and stops to think.
If stabbing's no good, I'll have to crush his head!
Nezuko picks up a rock and walks back to the demon.
I'll probably have to crush his skull completely, which means hitting him with this rock over and over. I bet he'll suffer. Isn't there any way for us to kill him with one blow.
This kid's not going to cut it, the masked man thinks. She's far too kind and far too indecisive. She's facing a demon, yet the sent of kindness remains. She still had empathy for even a demon. Tsutako... this girl will never make it.
The demon regains consciousness. He looks around. He begins to threaten Nezuko. Suddenly the sun rises. The demon's head burns and it dies.
