Tanjiro yelled at the top of his lungs as he held his sword downwards to try and severe Gyuutarou's head from his neck.

Cut through! Cut through! We're gonna win. For sure.

"ONI-CHAN!" Daki screamed from above on the roof. "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! YOUR HEAD CAN'T BE CUT BY SOME PUNY BRAT!"

"I wouldn't call any of us that if I were you." You came in from down below. Daki noticed that you had begun to stand up as you held your body upwards with your sword.

How?! How did you get up so fast? After being burnt on your side like a piece of meat.

And then you smirked, gripping the handle of your blade and staring up at her figure.

Daki grew angry and growled loudly. "YOU PATHETIC HUMAN! I'M SO SICK OF YOU GOING ON ABOUT HOW YOU'LL KILL ME! IT'S SO FUCKING ANNOYING! DIE YOU BITCH!" A wave of slashes was sent your way, and all you could do was smirk.

That's when a loud echo vibrated in her ears as her sashes had then been cut cleanly in half. This had taken her by surprise, one reason was because of the fact that it was Zenitsu who was the cause of this. He had been knocked down by the rubble, how did he escape?

"Thunder Breathing; First Form; Thunder Clap and Flash! God's Speed!!"

Not even a second later did he move through almost half the Red Light District with his sword up against Daki's neck. He neck was formed like her sash and stretched out far.

Then it had begun to tear.

Crap! I'm gonna get my head cut off! This guy... he can really move!

Cut it! Break through! I can only use 'God's Speed' twice and then my legs become useless after! I used it once to get out of the wreckage, so I don't have any charges left. So now is the only chance to get at her neck! Zenitsu thought.

Tanjiro had given us all this once-in-a-lifetime moment. I'll cut off her neck! For sure!!

Tanjiro grinded his sword down with more force than before as Gyuutarou tried to find the strength to get back up, but the poison kept him from doing so.

Shit! His neck is too tough! I still lack the strength! AGHHHH!!

Those same large sickles began to erupt from his body at his sides. Tanjiro's eyes widened at this, although, before he could do anything, he felt you push him back quickly out of the way so he wouldn't get hit.

Thankfully, you weren't hit either. You turned around behind you and lifted your sword upwards to block the sickles floating around. Tanjiro did the same as he got back up next to you.

He's already recovered from the poison! He's trying to tear us to shreds by pulling us in! And the blade is getting pushed back! Tanjiro realized. And as he predicted, it did indeed happen. I can't give up! Don't give up! Keep going until the end! Give it your all!

"YOU BRAAAAAATS!!!" Gyuutarou screamed in pure wrath and anger.

We can't give up! Not today, nor tomorrow, nor ever! Gyuutarou used his own sickle and threw it downwards towards Tanjiro, nearly reaching his eye.

That's when someone flew by and blocked the attack. This shocked both you, Tanjiro, as well as the demon. That familiar flash of silver hair with the shining beads.

"Uzui-San!" You exclaimed with relief.

Uzui smiled. "THE 'SCORE' IS COMPLETE! WE WILL BEAT YOU!"

A score is Uzui's unique battle formula. The analysis takes a huge amount of time, however, he can understand an enemy's habits and blind spots by reading their attack movements and converting them to sound. It's just like interrupting the flow of a song, if one attacks the openings in a sound, he can indeed land a blow.

Although, with the Sound Hashira being poisoned, the best that he can do is handle the enemy's attacks. He can't aim for the head.

The the only ones who can take this demon's head, is you and Tanjiro.

He's released all of his round slashes of death. This guy... he only has one arm!!! This is impossible! You've gotta be fucking kidding me!

One of the sickles managed to slash at Uzui's face as blood spewed from the wound.

"UZUI-SAN!"

"DON'T STOP JUST GO!" He yelled back.

Tanjiro leapt up from above and aimed his sword downwards towards Gyuutarou.

You damn idiot! You'll just keep on being pathetic! No matter how many times you keep on coming back!

The demon used his other sickle to fling it upwards. The sharp blade pierced through the bottom of Tanjiro's jaw and went straight up through into his mouth.

It's over! Die by the poison!

Cut his head! You both thought. We'll defiantly cut him!

Both you and Tanjiro followed in the same pursuit and landed your blades against the neck. A sharp pain coursed through where your abdomen was, however, you didn't falter, you had to end it. Right here, right now.

I can't just use my arm strength in this... I have to use every part of my body. Use everything from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Forget all the pain and bite at him. Use a hundred times that strength!

Both of you poured every ounce of strength you had. The both of you almost felt like you knew what you both were thinking.

The scar up on Tanjiro's forehead had begun to change, his eyes only have the whites showing as he screamed loudly. You, your eyes began to glow a bright lavender color like earlier with Daki. You too, had a mark forming along your neck. It was the same constellation that formed when you had battled Hirokai along with Tanjiro back in the past. Although you felt more powerful than before.

I can't pull my sickles from them! I gotta regenerate my left arm that had been cut by the shinobi.

It's gonna be fine! My sister still has her head! Those freaks won't be able to get her.

Both you and Tanjiro erupted in a battle cry as you both had sunk your blades through his neck. Push further and further!

For everyone you love!

A loud vibration sounded through the night as fire burned away on all sides of them.

That's when both heads of the upper moon's had been cut down cleanly. After all this time, they had finally done it.

Both heads rolled from either direction and eventually crossed paths with each other. Their faces in shock at seeing one another in the dirt. They were the ones defeated, they had been so used to winning, they didn't even believe in failure. But this time, that had changed.

From a ways away from the damage caused, the three of Uzui's wives had witnessed the whole thing. Suma walked forward and gasped.

"Did they get them? They did! THEY DID IT!! KYAAAA!!!" Suma hugged Hinatsuru from behind and cried tears of joy.

"They did it, Hinatsuru! Look while you're crossing over to the other side!"

Maiko slapped her. "DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SAYING DUMMY?!"

Hinatsuru looked down and noticed the two teenage couple kneeling diagonally in front of one another, still. Very still.

"Wait... something's wrong." She said.

Yes, something was terribly wrong. Tanjiro heaved in and out as he was choking on his own blood. He couldn't breathe, his vision blurring all around him, his ears deafening.

P-Poi-Poison... must... b-breathe! Delay the poison... j-ju-just a little...

He looked over to his left diagonally from him and saw you kneeling down. You were in the same state. You held your hand up at your throat as blood mixed with saliva dripped from your mouth and down. You too, we're choking on your own blood. He noticed your other hand ripping out one of the sickles from your abdomen. Blood had gushed out as your hand was placed against it. The blood flowed down your hand and through your kimono. He could see you, suffering. That same terrible feeling coursed through his veins.

Y/n... no... please... n-not like t-thi-this!!

He also saw the Hashira yelling at the both of them, although you both couldn't hear him.

He's saying something... n-neck... did I c-cut it...? He's... trying to... t-tell me so-something...

"RUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!"

Before they could even react to the situation, blood sickles slashed everywhere out of no where.

Everything went dark.

And the last thing he saw your face.

It was dark.

Nothing to be seen. Until, opening the eyes, was a familiar face of someone that Tanjiro knew. Those bright pink orbs that stared back in worry. A warm palm against his shoulder.

He groaned slightly and tilted his head upwards slightly to have a clearer vision of her.

"Nezuko..." he grunted. He looked around for a quick moment and his eyes widened once he saw everything around him. Everything was a wreck, houses basically burned to ash, not a sound to be heard, nor a soul to be seen.

Nezuko leaned her head over on his shoulder and hummed to herself. "Nezuko... did you save me?" She hummed again. "Thanks."

Wait... the others! Tanjiro thought as he went to get up, however, a pain lashed through his legs and body. He collapsed down onto his knees and sat there for a moment. My body... how can I still move? How am I still alive? The poison... how??

You flashed into his mind. The image of you choking on your own blood came into his head again before he'd passed out.

Y/n...

"TANJIROOOOOO!!!!" A loud voiced wailed in the silence.

Tanjiro's eyes widened. "That's Zenitsu's voice!"

Nezuko came over behind her brother and picked him up on her back, giving him a piggy-back ride since he couldn't walk on his own. About a minute later did they see the golden haired slayer awake and crying like a baby.

Tanjiro spoke up, relieved. "You're okay! That's great!"

"NO I'M NOT!" Zenitsu yelled back with tears falling. "WHO DID THIS TO ME! MY BODY HURTS! I'M SO SCARED I CAN'T SEE! WHEN I WOKE, MY BODY HURTS ALL OVER! AND WHY ARE MY LEGS BROKEN?!" Tanjiro listened to his ranting despite it hurting his ears slightly. "I'M IN BAD SHAPE, BUT NOT COMPARED TO INOSUKE! HIS HEARTBEAT IS SLOWLY GETTING WEAKER! HE'S OVER THERE!" Zenistu pointed up at a roof that had fallen from the damage. There, the two demon slayers and the little lolly demon looked up to see a pair of limp legs dangling down.

The burgundy haired boy was carried up with the help of Nezuko as he shouted his name. "INOSUKE! INOSUKE KEEP IT TOGETHER!" He shouted. He brought himself closer to the wild boar and put a hand over his wound.

His pulse... it's getting weaker... I've gotta do something! What about the sun? He looked up and noticed that instead of seeing the sun, he saw the darkness of the sky and the moon. It's not up yet. What about a crow to Shinobu? No, too slow. He's gonna die if I don't do something! How was I saved? Why was I the only...!

The small demon came forward and rested her pale palm onto Inosuke's wound. Instantly, his body had been enveloped in a bright pink flames. Tanjiro gasped in shock at the flames that surrounded the boar's body. Slowly, he noticed that the wounds from the poison was beginning to disappear.

Inosuke coughed, and soon shouted in their faces. "I'M HUNGRY! GIMME SOMETHING TO EAT!"

"INOSUKE!" He cried out. He hugged Inosuke close to him and cried of happiness. Inosuke groaned.

Screams and yells of annoyance rumbled through the area to the left of them. They all turned their heads and saw Uzui's wives yelling and whining.

"What the—?"

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM??"

- Meanwhile -

"IF YOU LET TENGEN-SAMA DIE, I WON'T BE PRAYING TO YOU GUYS ANYMORE! I WON'T EVER FORGIVE YOUUUUU!!" Suma yelled loudly.

"Both of you be quiet!" Hinatsuru motioned.

"I'll fill your mouth with rocks to make you stop yappin', woman!"

"WAAAAA! MAIKO-SAN IS BULLYING MEEEE!! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

Uzui laid there in complete disbelief at what was going on with them. They're grown women, shouldn't they not be acting like children?

They looked over to their side and stopped yelling when they noticed Nezuko had come over and raised a hand. They paused for a moment, wondering why Nezuko had stepped so close to them.

She had then placed her little hand upon Uzui's bicep and he too had erupted in a mass of pink flames. All three wives gasped in horror. Suma waisted no time in rushing forward and grabbing her.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! ISN'T IT WAY TOO EARLY FOR CREMATION RIGHT NOW?? HE ISN'T DEAD YET AND YOU'RE BURNING HIM! I'M GONNA GIVE YOU A SPANKIN' YOU HERE ME!!"

"Wait... hold on." Tengen said from behind. Suma looked back and saw him smiling. He held up his arm without a hand in shock. "The poison... it's gone."

It was silent for a brief moment, until all of his wives had came over and embraced him tightly, crying on him all over.

"I think Nezuko removed it by using her blood demon art to burn it out. But I don't really know..." Tanjiro continued. "Your wounds are still there, so try not to move. I'm glad all of you are safe."

"I'm so confused, is that even possible? No, wait. You shouldn't move either, or you'll die too." Uzui stated.

Tanjiro's face turned serious. "I'm gonna go and find the demon heads. I can't be at ease until I'm sure they're there myself. And I have to find Y/n, she's around here somewhere, I'm sure of it."

┌───͙⊱••✩••̩̩͙⊰•───┐

"WHY DIDN'T YOU FINISH HIM OFF?! YOU COULD'VE SPLIT HIS HEAD OPEN!"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU SAVE ME!?"

"I WAS TRYING TO DO THAT! I WAS FIGHTING A PILLAR BACK THERE, DAMMIT!!"

"AND YET YOU DIDN'T DO SHIT! YOU LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!! THEN YOU COULD'VE JUST MANIPULATED ME TO DO THAT!"

"THE EARRING BRAT AND HIS GIRLFRIEND WERE STILL ALIVE! I WANTED TO FINISH THEM OFF!"

Tanjiro watched as their bodies were already disintegrating piece by piece. Despite them having their heads being cut off, they're arguing. And still alive.

Daki then screamed at her older brother. "...THERE'S NO WAY SOMETHING LIKE YOU COULD EVER BE MY BROTHER!!"

Gyuutarou growled and yelled back at her. "AT LEAST TRY TO BEAT TWO UNDERLINGS ON YOUR OWN DUMBASS! JUST SHUT UP! YOU HAVE THAT UPPER MOON TITLE, EVEN IT'S JUST AS A JOKE!"

"YOU KNOW, I'M NOT EVEN SURE WE'RE EVEN BLOOD RELATED AT ALL TO ME. WE DON'T EVEN LOOK ALIKE! YOU'RE SO FRICKING USELESS! THE ONLY THING DECENT ABOUT YOURSELF IS YOUR STRENGTH! ONCE YOU LOSE, YOU HAVE NOTHING AT ALL! YOU'LL BE NOTHING BUT A COMPLETE FAILURE! IF YOU WERE ALONE, YOU'D BE DEAD! I SAVED YOUR SORRY ASS SO MANY TIMES!"

That was when something snapped in Gyuutarou, angry, he shouted out his wrath upon her. "ME?? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S A DEADBEAT FAILURE! YOU'RE WEAK AND HAVE NO GOOD POINTS AT ALL! NOW I'M REGRETTING ALL THE TIMES I WAS THERE TO PROTECT A SUCKER LIKE YOU! IF YOU WEREN'T THERE, I'D HAVE A DIFFERENT LIFE! IF YOU ONLY WEREN'T THERE! WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOU, LIKE YOU'RE A STUPID BABY!"

"THINGS WOULD'VE BEEN BETTER IF YOU WERE NEVER BOR—"

"That's a lie." Gyuutarou felt a warm palm cover his mouth from yelling at his sister. His eyes were wide in shock and disbelief. "You honestly don't believe that, it's all a lie."

"Just try to get along. All you have left in the world is one another. Nobody will forgive you for what you've done. You're hated and despised by everyone you've killed and tortured, nobody will be your ally. That's why you two... shouldn't be curing at each other like that." Tanjiro spoke.

Daki felt tears slipping from her eyes. Turning from anger and then to sadness at the realization of what would happen. It was the painful truth, but he was right.

"WAAAAAAAAHHH! YOU'RE SO ANNOYING! GO AWAY YOU SHITTY BRAT! DON'T LECTURE US! THIS SUCKS! THIS SUCKS!" She cried out. "DO SOMETHING ONII-CHAN! I DON'T WANNA DIE!" She begged, her head breaking into pieces and flying off into the air.

"Onii..."

And just like that, she was gone.

"UME!!"

When one is on the verge of death, many say that their life's memories and life flashes before their eyes. To every part of them, their whole story rolled into that like a movie tape.

Gyuutarou could see everything. To when he was young and had rocks thrown at him, to his sister, him holding her close as the snowflakes fell to the ground. His head had disintegrated, his sister begged for him to forgive her for being weak. She cried and cried. Throwing her body on his back, she said she'd stay with him no matter what their next lives would be like. He frowned, as she cried, he held her tighter and adjusted her on his back. With a heavy heart, he carried himself and her into the flames.

Tanjiro held the ashes that blew away in the wind as Nezuko held his hands as well.

He looked into the sky with a sense of sadness and forgiveness in his eyes. "I wonder if they made up."

He looked over at Nezuko and smiled softly. "It's over, huh... I'm tired."

He then realized one thing. "We need to find Y/n."

Nezuko nodded her head, carried Tanjiro on her back, and they were off to find you. You were alive. You had to be.

Yet that feeling still coursed through his mind.

┌───͙⊱••✩••̩̩͙⊰•───┐

"Upper moon six has been defeated. I should praise you or something."

Uzui and his wives looked up at the Snake Hashira, glaring up at him.

Uzui's face hardened slightly. "You're late."

Suma nodded her head vigorously. "Y-You're so late! Were you actually coming!? You're so very late!!" The snake upon Obanai's shoulder hissed down at the black haired woman. She shrieked and hid herself by her husband.

"What were you thinking, losing your left arm and eye. Even if you did fight an upper moon, how long will it take for you to recover from this?"

Uzui looked down and closed his eye, where as the other was covered with a bandage. "Man, I'm retiring. I can't fight anymore. Oyakata-sama will probably allow me to do so."

"I say screw that." The other Hashira came in. "We need all the able body fighters we can get. Kibutsuji is on the move and getting stronger everyday and night. And the pillar spots are become vacant now since Rengoku had passed. Having you in the shape you're in is better than losing you."

"Oh, no. The young ones are growing." Uzui mentioned with a proud grin upon his face. "The boy and girl you despise are growing tremendously."

Obanai's eyes grew wide in amazement. "Those two... they survived the fight?? Tanjiro Kamado and Y/n L/n?"

"Y/N?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Tanjiro yelled. The three wives, Uzui, and Obanai turned to see Tanjiro on his sister's back, calling out for your name. However, you never answered.

Obanai looked at Uzui for a quick moment. Uzui's eyes widened slightly. They turned their eyes back on the boy that came over to the scene. He saw everyone including the new Hashira, all but you.

He began to panick. "S-She's not back yet??"

"I thought you'd find her!" Uzui came in. They stared at each other, horrible and dreadful thoughts flowed through Tanjiro's head at the realization at what might've happened. He gasped slightly and clasped a hand over his mouth.

No... please no...

"No!! She can't be!! L-Let's keep looking! She's around! SHE HAS TO BE!"

"We— we can look around." Zenitsu came in. "She couldn't have gone far!"

Everyone went around to try and find you. Every crack and inch of where to look, they looked. However, no sign of you was found. You had to be alive, you were Y/n L/n for heaven's sake. You survived this long, there was no way you could be gone. No way in hell!

They all yelled your name, but no answer came avail. The worry grew more and more each time everyone called your name and you didn't answer. No sign of life either.

Nezuko passed by a bunch of rubble as three bodies laid close to one another, all burnt to a crisp.

"Wait, Nezuko." She stopped upon his order and looked over to where he looked. She raised her eyebrow and had Tanjiro climb off of her small body. He kneeled down next to the bodies. One of them was over the bigger body and holding something close. Tanjiro looked closer and noticed there was a small little body that had been curled up in the arms of the burnt body that laid on top.

It hit Tanjiro when he knew who they were. His lips quivered as he stared at the tiny body curled up in the arms of another. He knew who they were.

They didn't make it... we couldn't save them...

Nezuko came over and placed a hand on his shoulder. He jumped slightly, but realized it was his sister soon after. She hugged him from behind as he hugged her arms back. I hope that their next life will be peaceful...

"TANJIRO!!" A voice cried out. His head snapped up. It's Zenitsu!

"Nezuko!" He called to her. She nodded her head, he hopped onto her back and they went towards the sound of Zenitsu's yell.

Please be okay... please... just be alive... please!

He spotted the bit of yellow hair and the kimono of the thunder breather. Nezuko quickened her pace on over towards the batch of blonde hair. The new Hashira from before was there too, along with Inosuke and Hinatsuru. Maiko and Suma must've been watching over Uzui with his wounds.

Zenitsu looked behind and noticed that Tanjiro and Nezuko were on their way.

They came closer and closer and eventually stopped. Tanjiro got off of Nezuko's back and kneeled onto the ground around them all.

"Where is she?? Did you find her??" Tanjiro questioned. Zenitsu didn't say anything. He pressed his lips into a fine line and looked back over at the Snake Hashira who had his back turned towards the redhead.

Tanjiro breathed in and out heavily, waiting for him to turn around.

Obanai finally turned around and held something in both his hands sideways. He looked at the boy. "This is hers, I presume?"

Tanjiro analyzed what was in his hands, his heart rate quickened when he knew what it was. That same bright glow that brightened when demons were close.

It was your sword. It still had that same glow to it when a demon was nearby. Although there were some parts of the sword that had been slightly chipped off. It still stood.

Obanai knew it was indeed hers just by the changed look on his face.

"No... no..."

Obanai sighed to himself at the realization. Inosuke just stood there looking in shock at the whole thing.

"M-Maybe she did make it! Maybe she just lost her sword! She's gotta be out there! She's gotta be!" Zenistu reasoned. He tried to look on the bright side of this. He knew you. He knew you were strong, stronger than any other woman he had ever met in his life. You lived through everything else before. Who's to say you still were.

"Guys..." Hinatsuru said. They averted their gazes over towards her. She kneeled onto the ground behind Obanai and picked something up from the ground and stared at it. She held it up for all to see. "I really hope I'm wrong about this. Tell me this isn't hers."

She came forward and handed the object over to Tanjiro and kneeled in front of him. He took the object into his dirtied hands. His lips began to quiver and a small whimper escaped his lips. The tears had begun to fall from his face as he knew what it was that he carried in his palms.

The pin. It was the pin that he gave you to remind you of your mother. The jewel that hung from the flower had been broken off and lost to who knows where. The lily made of glass had been chipped as well as the leaf and covered in ash.

Tanjiro's hands shook as he gripped the pin. He pulled the pin close to his chest and he felt the tears fall from his eyes like a waterfall had begun to run for the first time. His chest filled with agony, his heart stung, felt like a thousand blades had pierced straight through his heart. His whole body felt heavy with grief.

He hugged the piece close to his chest as he cried and cried. Nezuko whimpered behind him and hugged him. The others cried as well.

He wouldn't be able to feel you, smell you, or touch you. He wanted to hold you in his arms, kiss you all over. But he couldn't,

You were gone.
