Dean's POV;

The hunter layed there as the morning sun shined through the blinds, smiling like an idiot. He liked waking up like this, his lover holding him tight

The past months with Cas were the happiest he's ever been

He had never smiled as often before. With him, he could finally move on

He had something - someone to live for

Dean raised his head, admiring his soulmate

The exhausted angel was spread out on top of him, heavy wings limping off the edge of the bed as the tips sprawled on the ground. His messy dark locks perfectly falling onto his face, his swollen pink lips slightly parted. He looked so peaceful lying there, the morning sunlight making his wings shine as it warmed his pale skin

They're naked bodies were pressed together, unmoving. They had marked each other, claiming one another as theirs with hickeys and love bites. The red line was gone, leaving a permanent red mark around their ring finger, showing the world that they had found each other

That they weren't alone anymore

He gave a weak smile, pressing a small kiss on top of his head. He scooted to the edge, lifting the black feathered limb as he passed under it. He sat there for a few seconds, adjusting to the stinging pain in his ass

The hunter heard muffled unsatisfied grunts  as he moved around the broken bed, a sleepy angel reaching out to hold him. The human chuckled, passing a comforting hand across Castiel's face. He leaned into the touch, desperate to be held again. Dean smiled brightly, thinking his angel was adorable. "I'm just going to make breakfast feathers, I'm not leaving "

Cas spoke indistinctly, falling right back asleep. Dean grinned, laughing slightly at his lover. He kissed his cheek lovingly and got up, wincing in pain

He slowly and painfully walked over to the thrown pair of boxers, sliding them on before hunting for his t-shirt in the destroyed room

Feather's were scattered everywhere, broken lightbulbs and furniture all around the bed. They're clothes were scattered amongst the glass, thrown on lamps and counters. The hunter retrieved his shirt and put it on, weakly making his way to the coffee machine

As he looked into the kitchen, he noticed the many broken glasses and the busted pot. He groaned, looking inside the fridge for anything eatable. Dean jumped back, avoiding the wave of milk and eggs being launched at him

"Son of a bitch!!"

His train of thought got cut off by his new phone ringing, catching his attention. The hunter hesitantly answered, bringing the device with him away from the sleeping angel, not to wake him

"Hello?"

There was a deafening silence at the other end, catching Dean's curiosity

"Hellooo?"

No response

"Listen whatever you're selling were not interested-"

"Dean?"

The small voice sounded familiar, yet so different at the same time

"Yeah, that's me"

The other line sighed happily and shakily, bringing the human to confusion

"... And you are?"

"Its- Dean it's me"

"There are a lot of me's in the world, pal"

"It's Sam"

Dean's eye's widened. How did he find this number? How did he find him? How did he know that Dean would pick up? Was he watching him? The hunter looked around frantically for any cameras, worried

"Sam?"

"Hey"

He gave a small smile. As much as he was wondering, it was nice to hear from his brother

"Happy late birthday"

"What?"

"Happy la- nevermind. How are you?"

"Sleep deprived and hallucinating, but otherwise I'm fine"

"What? Why- Sleep deprived? Hallucinating??"

"Yeah, like I said, fine"

"How'd you get this number?"

"I- listen, I'm-"

"Are you watching me Sammy!?"

"What? No! I- I'm calling to- try to- I'm just- checking in on you"

"Yeah, okay" The human was skeptical, unsure. He didn't remember if he had given his new phone number to Sam or not in the letter, so he played along. He sat down, grunting in soreness

"Dean? Are you hurt? Did the angel hurt you??"

"No I'm fine Sammy I'm - I'm great, actually. Wait how did you know-"

"You can be honest, it's okay. I'm coming to save you soon"

"Save me?- why would you need to save me?"

"Because you got kidnapped by the angel "

"How do you know about Cas?"

"I'm working with... Someone "

"Sammy, how did you know about Cas" he was serious. Castiel being an angel wasn't a world known fact, or even that angel's existed

"The person-"

"Who are you 'working' with?"

"A demon Crowley"

"Crowley? As in king of hell Crowley?"

"King of- yeah, I guess"

"Why?"

"You went missing and I needed to find you"

"So you made a deal with the king of hell"

"Kind of"

"And you trust him? Why not go to mom and dad while your at it?"

"I- I wanted to do it alone at first but I got attacked and-"

"You WHAT?" He heard movement from the bed, changing the level of his voice. "You what?"

"But Crowley saved me! And he told me about the angel taking you, and we went to that wearhouse and saw your blood and-"

"You're tracking me down with a demon?"

"I had no other choice, Dean"

"How about not looking for me and continue living a life? Or was that part in the letter too hard to understand?"

"I couldn't live a life without you"

He slightly squeezed the bridge of his nose, calming himself down. "God damnit Sam I told you not to look for me"

"I didn't want to be stuck with dad!"

"What did he ask?"

"What?"

"It's a deal, he must've asked for something"

"He wanted the angel"

Dean's whole body froze. No, no one was going to take Cas away

Not again

"No"

"Dean-"

"Call the deal off"

"What?"

"I said call the deal OFF. I can't- He did nothing wrong "

"How about kidnapping you? Or making you bleed? Or hurting you?? Dean you're in pain right now and yo-"

"You try going three rounds with an angel, see how you feel afterwards "

"You- you had a fight?"

"No. We had sex, Sam"

The conversation fell into an uncomfortable silence, bringing Dean to get up again and walk around. He hated to think of Cas leaving

All because Sam didn't listen

"So that was the angel activity"

"The what now?"

"Angel activity. Every time an angel feels extreme emotions, their grace and powers go crazy. Rolling thunder, busting lights, glass breaking-"

"Oh"

Oh

"Yeah"

"Wait you can track that down??"

"Dean, thunder was sticking unevenly yesterday. The whole town's lights broke, sparks were flying everywhere; it was a nightmare "

"So that's how you found us?"

"You, yes"

"Sam I don't - I can't leave him"

"I'm sure-"

"Look, just - tell him it's over. Call it off, go home and just- have a life, Sammy. You don't need me, I'm only a failure of a punching bag. So go see Mary, I'm sure she's dead worried right now"

"No, it's okay. We found you, we'll go home together"

"I'm not leaving Cas behind"

"Dean-"

"No, you don't understand. He makes me happy. For the longest time I was alone- miserable. Now I have him, finally, and I'm not letting go"

"That's not true you- you had me"

"Really? Did I now?"

"Yes"

"Okay then; when was the last time you called the cops on dad? Or trusted me? Or even looked me in the eye?"

"I-"

"All you do is put on your headphones while I scream for my life! While I'm stitching myself up, ALONE. You come home from school and pretend I don't exist

You're as bad as mom"

Sam stayed silent, heartbroken

"I'm never going back there. I'm staying here. With Cas"

"Why is he so important"

"None of your business "

"Dean-"

"This shouldn't even be a discussion. You're sacrificing someone you don't know to someone you don't know for what? So you can see me? You know I'm just going to leave again, right? "

"Why- who is he, then?"

He sighed, defeated. "He's my soulmate, Sam. He saved me from myself"

"Y- You have no soulmate"

"Tell that to the red ring around my finger"

"How-"

"I don't know, but I'm not letting him go"

"So you would rather be with him than your family?"

"Since when do I have a family? Last I checked I'm not even in the pictures"

"I'm not going home without you"

"I'm not going anywhere without him"

"So you're really choosing an angel over your own brother? What happened to we only have each other?"

"He never gave up on me, compared to you. You try being INSANE for 21 years, try having no one around, being alone all the goddamn time AND BEING BEAT FOR BREATHING. YOU TRY THAT, THEN YOU CAN JUDGE ME ON MY CHOICES"

He was done, tired. Sam didn't want to understand, and he wasn't going down without his angel. Dean hanged up, furious. He threw the small electronic against the wall, breaking it into pieces. The hunter turned around,  noticing Castiel standing in front of the bed, head tilted in confusion

"Dean? Is everything okay?"

"We need to leave, now"

"What? Why?"

"Crowley found us. We need to go"

"Who was on the phone?"

"No one. Get your things, were going"

Cas had never seen Dean so stressed before, it was like a whole other person. His posture was different, his brows were furrowed in anger and he was running around frantically to try and pack everything

"NOW Cas! Go!" His lover jumped at the tone, surprised. Dean had never gave him that look. Even during their fights, he never ordered him to do anything. He yelled, but never with so much anger behind it. Dean noticed the shocked expression on his boyfriend's face, instantly speaking calmer. "Look, I'm - I don't want to lose you, okay? I just- we have to go, now"

Castiel understood and dressed up, leaving his trench coat in his hands to try and save time. They stepped out the front door, hurrying onto the porch

As soon as the boys stepped outside, flames rose in front of them, blocking their exit. Black eyed psychos were spread around the fire, expressionless at the sight before them.  The warmth was surrounding their motel, trapping them from leaving. They were everywhere around the golden flames, hundreds of demons waiting for something.

Someone

A small well dressed man showed in front of the pack, grinning at the men. His eyes flashed red as he gave in a wolfish grin, sticking fear into Dean's eyes

So that, was Crowley

"Holy fire" Castiel whispered, dragging Dean back inside the safety of the motel, panicked

"Okay, um- now would be a great time to pull out your wings and fly us out of here"

The angel was looking through every window, looking at the flames. "I can't"

"What do you mean 'you can't'??"

"The flames. If I touch them I die"

"So we can't - we can't leave?"

"I'm afraid so"

Dean grasped his hair, panicked. This wasn't happening. This was a dream. He couldn't lose Cas. Not here, not like this

"No, nononono-"

"Were stuck, Dean"
