chapter 5- mike wheeler hate club
"we are getting no where!" olive groans
"patience wheeler" Steve replies
"you can leave olive" dustin says in a hurt tone that made olive feel bad
"I just want to help" olive replies
"you are by being here" dustin replies with the smile that olive always thought could fix everything
the room went silent as Robin and Clara sat there trying to translate, Clara was always really smart and read a lot and Robin obviously knew four languages leaving them to translate
"you know what you could help with..." Steve trails off
making eye contact with Clara, Clara's eyes lit up like a light bulb went off in her head
"you want to be employed for a few hours?" Clara asks making olive look at her with a confused expression

olive walked out of the stall giggling as she fixed the scoops ahoy hat
god I look so stupid
that's when Robin walks into the bathroom "Steve wanted me to check on you" she said
"how do you like it" she chuckles
"Steve is so dramatic about it" olive states
"tell me about it" Robin mumbles olives eyes drop down to robins shoes noticing the drawings on them
"I like your converse" olive states as she looks closely at the drawings of woman on them
"oh...thanks" Robin replies in a nervous tone that olive immediately notices and understands
"no .. no look" olive shows the side of her shoe to show her matching drawings
robins eyes widened slightly as she examined the drawings "see we match" olive giggles
"didn't realize we had so much in common" Robin states
"guess so .. can I ask you something?" Olive speaks up

"are you and Clara?-" olive got cut off by Clara walking in
looking at the duo with a confused look on her face
"Steve sent me down he was worried something happened?"
"oh sorry I was just talking about how ridiculous this uniform is" Olive giggles nervously not knowing what to say

"what's the update?" Olive asks asks while Steve starts flirting with some girl who was ordering
"we have our first sentence!" Dustin said excited
"what is it?"
"The week is long" robin said in a Russian accent
"well that's depressing" Steve said he must of got rejected faster than Olive thought
"it's progress" Robin shrugged
"are you gonna help me?" Steve asked as olive
"yeah but there's only one ice cream scooper at a time" Olive teased as she looked back into the back room
"you're turn then" Steve replied as he hands Olive the scooper
olive rolls her eyes watching him go in "we all have a role" Dustin shrugs as Robin closes the window connecting the two rooms
olive heard the bell ring "one second" she yelled as she set down the dictionary of Russian that Clara and her were trading off with
she turned around her eyes widening as she saw max and eleven together she immediately took notice of max and how she looked today
"you work here?" max speaks up olive blinks bringing herself back to reality
"just today" Olive replies sheepishly
olive looked at the two together still confused because she thought they hated one another she had been trying to push them together for months
"what did you guys want?" olive asks remembering she had to do her job
"strawberry and a vanilla with sprinkles" olive nodded as she started scooping the ice cream
"so where's Lucas and Mike?" Olive asks not remembering a day where they weren't with they're boyfriends this summer
"boyfriends .. lie" eleven says making olive furrow her brows as she puts sprinkles on one of the ice creams
"long story come over to el's tonight and we can explain?" max asks
olive nods as she hands them their ice creams max and olives hands thought slightly making a light blush visible on her face
olive and max made eye contact for a spilt second making olives heart feel like it was doing flips
she quickly pulled away leaning away from max and el and pushed her hair back as it got into her eyes which olive hated
olive watched as Max's and eleven's eyes go down to uniform "cute uniform" max mocks
"what you don't like it?" Olive giggles
"I like it.. you look good" max grins olive heart was doing flips again
"hey max hey El- wait are you supposed to be here?" Steve asks as she walks back into the room
the two girls laugh "bye el bye max" olive waves
"bye liv"
"bye olive"
olive watches as they leave "your as bright as Max's hair you know" Steve teases
"oh shut up" olive replies as Steve chuckles

olive worked for the rest of the day as she bothered Steve about everything and anything
but now she was sitting on els bed as she listened to what her brother had done olive titled her head with a confused expression
"he said nana was sick?" el nodded
"maybe he had a good reason?" olive said not wanting to immediately throw her brother under the bus
yes of course he wasn't the best all the time but she did know he cared about el and he must have had a reason
"he still lied" max points out
"yeah I mean to my knowledge nana is definitely not sick" olive shrugs
"I mean obviously Mike is self centered but.. I don't know he really cares about you el" olive states surprised that she was actually defending her brother
"definitely self centered" max mumbles making olive chuckle
"he lied" el says in a stern voice
"don't worry el I'm on your side" olive says making a smile on els face
"was will with him?" Olive asked
"yeah he was" max replies
"will?.. will is your boyfriend?" el asked
"no, no definitely not" Olive replies as max chuckles
"anything else happen that I should know about?" Olive asks
"oh.. I broke up with Lucas.. if that's important " max says
"six times" Olive says not letting herself get excited because she knew they were just going to get back together
"Why are you keeping count" max laughs
"I'm not.. just surprised I guess" Olive says
"he shouldn't have helped Mike lie" max shrugs

olive laid on els bed propping herself up with her hands as el and her flipped pages of magazines
as max jumped around singing angel Olive stole peaks at her when she wasn't looking just like Olive always was doing admiring max
Olive looked over at el who's page was turned to Ralph Macchio
"oh you found Ralph macchio" max says as she kneels down next to Olive
"Macchio?" El asked
"yeah you know karate kid" max says as she karate chops the magazine making laugh laugh
"He's so hot right?" Olive rolls her eyes
"I bet he's a amazing kisser too" max finishes
"I bet not" Olive grins
"ignore her" max says
"is Mike a good kisser?" Max asks
"stop my ears!" Olive exclaims as she dramatically goes to cover them
"I don't know.. he's my first boyfriend" el says
"ex" Olive corrects
"Hey don't worry about it okay? He'll come crawling back to you in no time" max says
"begging for forgiveness" Olive continues
"I guarantee you him and Lucas are totally wallowing in self pity and misery"
"Oh I hope they take us back!" Olive chuckles
"what I would give to see that" Olive says
suddenly it goes silent and el goes weirdly quiet making olive lift her head up and look at her
"what?" she asks

"are you sure it's going to work?" max asks from next to Olive
"are you sure we should be doing this?" Olive asks suddenly nervous of if Mike found out
"holy shit this is insane"
"max"
"right sorry"
"What are they doing?" max asks
"eating"
"They say we are species.."
"what"
"Emotion not logic.."
"What!"
eleven then rips off her blindfold are starts laughing making max and olive exchange confused looks
before eleven falls to the ground laughing "what?"
"what happened?"
