It had been a week since I've avoided speaking to Maleek and Kile, and the guilt was slowly eating me up inside, so without thinking this through, I was 12 in the night waiting at the nearest park, not knowing if either of them would actually show up.
it wasn't long before I heard muffled footsteps approaching behind me .
" Hey "
" Hey " Maleek responded dryly but Kyle just reluctantly shook his head
" So.. " I drawed on " What have you guys been up to ? "
" You sure have some nerve asking that " Kile spat .
" I can explain "
" Explain what? " Kile continued, " That you've been avoiding us for a week with no sensible reason, and even when either of us turned up to your house, you had your mom lie and say you weren't there ?"
He paused to take a breath " Or , or maybe its that even though we've been your best friend for years you went out with Rory of all people today and only now chose to apologize after your little date "
My eyes widened for a brief moment at the mention of Rory's and the fact that he had called whatever we did today a date
" It wasn't a date , his cousin was there with us " I argued back .
" Oh ? So you even chose a stranger over us. " he let out a humorless laugh.
" Kile chill out " Maleek glared at him .
Kile huffed but reluctantly shut up .
" I know Josh has been a total shit this week " he glared at me " But fighting won't solve shit , we should at least hear him out I'm sure he has a reasonable explanation "
Yeah , actually turns out im gay and Rory and I are dating but it wasn't easy cause I hated myself for like the past week and still kind of do but I'm ok now, I think
" ....Josh?"
" Oh right , um yes I do "
" The thing is ... I-I do want to tell you guys but I don't think I'm ready.... and I'd rather have you guys not talk to me for a month than lie again " I sighed avoiding eye contact " sorry "
" Oh fuck yo- "
" Kile " Maleek warned him covering his mouth .
" It kinda hurts that we've been best friends for this long and you feel that whatever it is your hiding, we would judge you over it, but I guess it must be really important if your not being your usual clown " Pulling his hands from Kile, he slightly nudged him .
Rolling his eyes he finally managed to mumble out something uninterpretable before Maleek glared at him once more .
"Fine , I don't know what your hiding Josh, but it better be some top-class security information ..... I guess I understand or whatever , just hurry up and grow some balls so you can tell us"
Running over to them, I scooped both of them up into a big bear bug , " Thanks for using whatever little brain cells you guys have for understanding "
Maleek simply ruffled my hair and Kile pretended to struggle to get free but eventually relaxed .
" Oh yeah , I should probably call off those body guards I sent to get you at your house tomorrow" Kile suddenly spoke up
"You did what?"
