the slander was so unnecessary.
the poisoned sword too.
i mean, is this lesser version
of my former person everything
you imagined? have i now become
everything you hoped to bear
witness to? inhumane and grotesque.
i am your creature. your feign. untrusting
and demeaned. forged by conjecture
and cooled by your greed. i have been
evicted from my purity. blameless,
