"Go to sleep Bella, I got you."
"Promise?" She asks, holding out her pinky, "I promise." I assure, locking our fingers together. She gives our fingers one last look before she unhooks out fingers and curls up next to me, placing her head on my chest as she closes her ocean blue eyes and drifts off to sleep.
Her breathing slows and her body softens into mine.
I've never realized how tense she is during the day until right now. She looks to peaceful right now, like there's nothing wrong. But during the day she masks it.
She doesn't want anyone worrying.
That's why I told her it was late. I didn't want her worrying about whatever it is stressing her out. I wanted her to relax. She only got a few hours of sleep last night; three hours max.
So that's why I told her it was late when it's only 9:15.
She needs the rest, and if that means I have make some pinky promise with her, I'll do it in a heartbeat.
"Good night Bella," I whisper, "get some rest, you deserve it."

I wake up in the morning thirsty as fuck. I sit up, stretch my arms, and start to pull Bella off me. But the second I start to move her she lets out a small whimper and holds onto me tighter.
I smile as I gently pick Bella up and rest her head on my shoulder.
I promised I would keep her safe, that's all I'm doing. Not that I mind holding her. She just feels right in my arms. She fits perfectly.
Opening the extremely neat refrigerator-that was obviously Bella's doing-I pull out a bottle of water, twist the top off, and drink it.
I throw away the empty bottle and make my way to the living room, careful to not wake Bella up in the process. Carefully picking up the blanket, I sit down and cover Bella back up.
Grabbing my phone off the side table I place one hand in her hair and the other I use to scroll through my phone.
A few minutes go by of me just aimlessly scrolling through Instagram until I get a message from Elsie.
El:
Are u up?
Me:
Yes?
El:
Is Izzy?
Me:
No why
El:
oh ok
Love you
Me
Love you too?
Uhm ok?
I've gotten a lot of weird messages from Elsie, but that? That has to be the most random one.
"Morning Leonardo," Bella says, her voice laced with sleep. "Good morning Bella" I say, setting my phone down on the side table, giving her my full attention.
"And how do you figure this morning is good?" Bella grumbles, turning away from the rising sun.
"Just a guess." I shrug, "well you're guess is wrong."
"Why the fuck is it so hot out?" I complain. I'm wearing a tank top and shorts, yet I feel like I'm going to pull a fucking frosty the snowman and melt into a puddle.
"It just rained, there's going to be humidity Bella." Leonardo says, attempting to pull Milo away from some squirrel. It's kinda funny if I'm being honest.
Leonardo is jacked,looks like he works out everyday, and could be the face of any magazine yet he can't pull back a 70 pound dog. Sounds a little pathetic to me...
Leonardo must've noticed my staring because he tells me, "I don't want to hurt him." I shake my head, trying to hide my smile as I tell Milo, "quit being a dumbass, that squirrel is long gone."
Somehow Milo understands me and starts walking again. Leonardo shakes his head mumbling something along the lines of, smart ass dog.
And he's right, Milo is a smart dog.
We walk in a calming silence until my phone rings. Looking at the caller ID it shows my second least favorite number; Matt's.
"What do you want kid?" I ask answering the phone. "Oh I'm great Izzy how are you!" Matt teases, "what do you want?" I groan, one of the worst things to do is waste your time on a phone call with Matt.
"Where are you right now?" I wanna scare him. Is that mean? Nah. "Just got off a flight, why?" I can practically see Matt's jaw drop when I say that.
Kinda funny.
"A flight to where?" Matt asks warily. "Nowhere far," I assure "we only went to France." "FRANCE!" I pull my phone away from my ear to look at Leonardo who looks oddly amused about how this is playing out.
"Yes Matt, France." I say slowly, "give Leo the phone." Matt states. Bossy. I shrug, handing my phone to Leonardo and turning the dogs around to head back home.
"Yes Matt, we're really in France." Leonardo assures. Good. If Leonardo ruined the prank I would've cut off his dick.
Leonardo rolls his eyes before saying, "You don't need to pull over, it's just a prank." There's muffled yelling across the line for a moment until it went quiet and Leonardo gave me my phone back.
"You almost gave that kid a heart attack."
I shrug, "Eh, he'll make it."

"And they're coming home early why?" Apparently the trip got cut short so Leonardo and I's siblings will be home tomorrow. "I don't know, Enzo just said there was some "technical difficulties" Leonardo says, using finger quotes when he says "technical difficulties."
"What? You don't believe that?" I ask. I know all about hotels and their computers crash 24/7.
Leonardo shrugs, "I don't know, technical difficulties just sound weird you know? I mean weren't they supposed to only in the hotel to sleep and get ready? I just don't see why some computer going down would effect them so much."
"Fuck! Now you're making me think to hard." I complain. Kid's over here being some detective trying to figure out why a school trip got cut short.
Leonardo chuckles, "I'm sorry, I'll stop being so incredibly smart and hurting your precious little brain." "Thank you." Wait- did he just call me precious?
"Where are your parents?" Leonardo asks before I can get to into my thoughts. I shrug, "Could be downtown, could be in a whole different state. Who knows." A sorry expression falls onto Leonardo's face but before he can speak I cut him off, "it happens all the time. Don't feel sorry for me."
Leonardo surrenders, putting his hands up. "Got it."
"It's late, I should probably get going to bed." I say standing up from the couch and making my way up the stairs. "Are you really going to bed or are you just going to sit in your room until the morning?" Leonardo asks,
"Shut up," I say as I reach the top of the stairs, hiding the smile on my face.

Anyways, next chapter should be interesting, I feel like I've been doing a lot of Leonardo's POV and like none of Izzy's so here it is.
Also my birthday is coming up so I might be inactive!
