I woke up to a lot of nose. I got up going in Kayla room seeing her getting dressed and blasting music
Me. Kayla!
She flinched looking at me
Me. Turn this music down
She turned it off looking at me
Me. Why you up so early
Kayla. Aren't we going shopping for are birthday
Me. It's to early
Kayla. No it's not it's 2 pm
I got her phone and looking at the time. I overslept
Kayla. Daddy
I looked at her
Kayla. Are we still going
I nodded leaving her room. I got dressed and went in Kayla room seeing her watching tv and sucking her thumb.
Me. Come on
She got up getting her phone. We got in the car after I locked the house door. First I drove to the mall calling security. Once they got here we got out the car going in. First we got outfits for the party. Then jewlary.
Me. Say You hungry
She nodded really fast
Me. You ate this morning
She looked at me shaking her head we went to the food court. We got some soul food. We started eating.

She looked at me before going back to eating

She shrug we finished eating and left. I drove to party city. I let her get on my back. First I put all the decorations for her part of the party in a basket. Then all mine in another basket. I paid then I ordered balloons for that day. We went home. After putting the stuff in my closet I sat on the couch. Kayla sat next to me with her thumb in her mouth

I took my thumb out my mouth. I got on my phone watching tiktok. I was finna put my thumb back in my mouth but then I tucked it in my hand. Glancing over at my dad seeing him on his phone. He looked up and back at his phone
Daddy. Almost put ya thumb in your mouth huh?
I ignored him still watching tiktoks. Someone knocked on the door. I went in the bathroom putting my thumb in my mouth staring off into space. I just can't stop sucking my thumb.
Daddy. Kayla Kylie here!!!
I hurried and washed my hands and dried them off. I went out there going to get Kylie and we went upstairs. We got on the bed talking about stuff that's on shadroom. I laughed at the lies there saying. They said that nisha and Starr are fighting. That's a lie theses to get along better then Nia and nene. I put my thumb in my mouth taking it right back out remembering. Daddy came in here handing me $20. I smiled putting it in my pocket.

I nodded laying back putting the tea page on my tv. I was finna put my thumb in my mouth again but I remembered and didn't. A tear left my eyes. I turned myself over falling to sleep

Kentrell came in seating on the sid of the bed that Kayla was on. He pulled the cover down. She don't have her thumb in her mouth. He put $20 in her pocket.
She jumped up out her sleep looking at him. He looked at her making sure she was ight and he left out. Kayla laid back down but watching tv.
I heard Ben in the hallway
Me. Wanna go mess with Ben
She nodded we went in the hallway runing in circles around him. He looked down at us. We grabbed both of his legs as he tried to walk off.
Me. We havy?
He nodded still walking we let him walk downstairs and then we got back on his legs. He walked around the front room I looked at Kayla seeing her looking up.
Daddy. What y'all doing
Kayla. Bothering him
We got off of Ben legs and he sat on the. Couch me and Kayla went to play outside
Kayla. I can't wait till my birthday
I smiled imagining what her party will be like. We went and sat on the swing set. We talked about boys and having brothers. Soon I had to go.

I smiled going to bath and get ready for bed. I laid down going to bed. I put my thumb in my mouth I can't help it.
