Valerie opened the door so fast making Yunho flinch, he was wearing his glasses and sitting on a chair infront of his desk going through some papers "you scared the shit out of me" he said putting his right hand on where his heart is, Valerie ignored him and headed towards the cabinet, she opened it and started going through the stuff in it "are you looking for something?" Yunho asked putting his glasses down on the desk "no, I just forgot where I put my map" she said throwing some clothes on the ground "it must be very important for you to the point you don't care if the room is a mess" Yunho commented, amused by what he's witnessing right now "found it!!!" She shouted holding the piece of parchment in her right hand, she quickly threw the clothes back in the cabinet and closed then stormed out of the cabin towards the captain's cabin.
When she arrived at the cabin's door, she knocked it three times before she heard a 'come in' from inside.
She walked in closing the door behind her "what did you bring?" Mingi asked "before I say anything, I want you to know that I had my reasons to hide this from you, but now since we are in a strong need for it, I'm showing it to you" she explained walking towards them and standing between Yeosang and Mingi "please don't throw me away because of it" she said opening the map and put it on Hongjoong's desk, the three guys where confused when they saw the map "it's empty" Yeosang pointed "Valerie, what is this?" Hongjoong asked in a commanding tone and glaring at her, which sent shivers down her spine "it's the magical map you wanted" she said folding her arms across her chest "what is it supposed to do?" Hongjoong asked still glaring at her "it shows the undiscovered islands and the safest lane to take" she explained still looking at Hongjoong's eyes "how does it work?" Yeosang asked getting her attention "I actually don't know" she said "then it's useless" Hongjoong said sharply "but because of it, I got out of Erebus ocean, so it's useful" she said smirking and looking at him in the eyes "anyways, let's see if this map really works" Mingi said trying to ease the tension between Hongjoong and Valerie, he grabbed the map and started rotating it but nothing appeared "it's not working" he whined and pouted in disappointment "let me try" Yeosang said taking the map from Mingi.
He held the map in his hands infront of him and closed his eyes, after a few seconds, islands started to appear on the map and one of them was Rieto Haven and it had an X mark on it "it worked!" Mingi yelled cheerfully and started jumping in his place "see, I told you it works" Valerie said grinning at Hongjoong "whatever, Yeosang show me the map" Hongjoong's commanded and Yeosang obeyed.
Hongjoong took the map and put it on the desk, it was the same as Valerie explained, there were undiscovered islands on it and there is a green line connects some islands together until it reached Rieto Haven "we should follow this line if we want to arrive safely at Rieto Haven" Valerie pointed out "I know that, you don't have to explain" Hongjoong stated not looking at her but still focused on this magical map, the waves were moving in the map and the islands felt alive on it, but the strange thing is that their ship is not showing at the map and Valerie's boat is visible on it.
Hongjoong was frowning and Valerie noticed it "your ship doesn't appear on the map and I don't know why either, so let's just ignore it for now" she said shrugging and putting her hands behind her back standing firmly "fine" Hongjoong sighed and looked up to them "we'll set the sailing tomorrow, Mingi you go tell everybody that we are heading towards the east to Bluebird island first and Yeosang" he said turning to look at him "you and Valerie will be in charge of the helm in this journey" he commanded giving him the map "yes captain" Yeosang answered smiling at him "thank you" Valerie thanked Hongjoong bowing her head a little "it's okay, you have your reasons" he assured her and gave them permission to go.
Mingi got out first of the cabin followed by Valerie and Yeosang "attention everybody!!!!" Mingi shouted getting everyone's attention "our destination is decided, we'll set the sailing tomorrow first thing in the morning to the East, towards Bluebird island!!!!" He continued informing everyone to get ready for the departure next morning "the East? Isn't Rieto at the North?" Seonghwa asked Mingi, confused by Hongjoong demanding "it is, but we won't be heading towards Reito directly because of the hard weather we might face, so Hongjoong decided to come across some islands in it's way, and Bluebird is the first one" he answered Seonghwa, explaining the path towards Rieto Haven "I'm sure Hongjoong knows what he is doing, let's go rest for now because tomorrow is a big day" Seonghwa sighed and told the others to go sleep since it's midnight and the crew need some rest.
Valerie went immediately to her cabin, she opened the door of her cabin, got inside and shut it with a loud bang that startled Yunho for the second time "you should learn to be less surprising next time" Yunho exclaimed putting his right hand on where his heart is, he was still in the same position she left him in and with his glasses on.
Valerie didn't pay much attention to him, instead, she threw herself onto her bed, burying her face in the pillow, then she started screaming in it and kicking the bed underneath her "I..in..iot" she mumbled "what?" Yunho didn't understand a word, he was sitting on his chair folding his arms, putting his right leg on the left one and looking at her actions "I'm an idioooot!!" She put her head up, shouted, and then put it back to where it was and continued on kicking the bed "is this some kind of new information?" He asked sarcastically and smiling earning a glare from her "no, it's not" she said "I'm an idiot because I failed Hongjoong's trust and he might throw me out of the ship" she explained turning her head towards the wall beside her "why he won't trust you?" He asked frowning from confusion "because!, I hid something from you guys at first and now I told him about it" she explained and put her head back into the pillow "what is this thing?" He asked curiously "a mehphepal mepf" she mumbled into the pillow "a what?" He asked pinching between his eyebrows "a magical map" she whispered holding her head up from the pillow then sat on the bed crossing her legs, facing Yunho and looking down at her hands.
"A magical map!!?" He shouted standing up in surprise startling Valerie and looking up at him "shhh, don't shout" she whispered putting her index infront of her mouth "wait" he said trying to calm down "how come you have one?" He asked her "I found it in my teacher's stuff with a letter that says it's a gift from him" she answered holding her legs up infront of her chest "what did it do?" He asked "it shows ways, islands, oceans and stuff" she answered "stuff like what?" He asked moving his chair closer to her "aren't you a bit too curious about it?" She asked eyeing him with narrowed eyes "what? I want to know more about this magic map" he whined at her "and why is that?" She asked putting her legs down and crossing them.
Yunho then came and sat next to her on the right and leaning his back against the wall behind them "because I love magical stuff, like creatures, spells and potions" he explained looking at the ceiling "so I got excited" he said "just now, you looked like an excited puppy" she said "puppy?" He asked in surprise widening his eyes and looking at her "yeah, puppies tend to be very excited about things they like and love, they give it their full attention and focus, which makes them very cute, just like you" she said patting his head "I don't know if I should be offended or happy about your comment" he said confused at her words "don't worry, it's a compliment" she said still patting his head "okay, can you stop patting me?" He asked now annoyed by her action "okay" she granted his wish after ruffling his hair "here you go" she said putting her hand down "well, thank you for the messy hair" he said standing up and heading towards his bed "tomorrow is a big day, we should go to sleep by now" he said getting under the sheets and putting his head on the pillow "yeah, goodnight" she said looking at him "goodnight" he answered already half asleep, she smiled at herself from his actions, got up and went to the main deck.
There were no one on the deck, everyone was asleep in their cabin, except for San, who was in charge of the night shift on the crow nest.
Valerie decided to climb up the main mast to where San is, she climbed slowly and and with no sound, fearing San might get scared.
Valerie reached the nest and grabbed it's edge and jumped into it scaring San "Aahh!!" He screamed startled "shhh, don't shout, you'll wake the others" she whispered putting her index infront of her mouth "well, you scared me" he said glaring at her "ok, sorry" she said and stood next to him "what are you doing here?" He asked her "just came for some air" she answered "well, next time don't make it like you are trying to kill someone, you almost gave me a heart attack" he sighed looking at the big ocean "it's not my fault you are light hearted" she said giggling at his reaction "I'm not light hearted, I just didn't notice you coming" he excused himself sulking "ok, next time I'll send you a letter for permission to get up here" she said sarcastically "I didn't mean it like that" he said annoyed and she smiled.
They stood there in silent for half an hour just looking at the ocean and not saying anything "you should go to sleep, I'll stay and watch the night" she broke the silence "don't worry, I'm used to staying up, instead, you are the one who needs sleep, you are going to help Yeosang tomorrow with the sailing" he said "but I'm older and you have to listen to me, so you should go and have some rest, you guys were watching over the ship the whole day, you must be tired by now" she said looking at him and leaning on the edge of the nest "and you were in the town running away from soldiers all day" he said smirking at her "Wooyoung told, didn't he?" She asked and he started giggling "I think there's nothing to hide in this ship" she sighed "but still, I want to stay and watch over, so go and have some sleep" she said in a stern tone giving shivers to San "ok, I'll go, goodnight" he said heading down "goodnight" she said back to him.
After she made sure he went to his cabin, she took her compass out of her pocket, she happened to put it there after getting the map out of the cabinet with no one noticing it.
She opened it and saw one green arrow pointing at the East, she sighed in relief knowing it's safe to go there "tomorrow is a big day indeed" she said stretching her arms up and then looked at the ocean and smiled "it's going to be one hell of a trip" she said to herself and stayed standing in her place till morning.
