"Where are you going?" Steve quickly asks Dustin as the boy begins to walk off. Steve unfolds his arms and quickly goes to follow him, a curious and confused look on his face, "hey! hey hey hey hey hey hey hey! Eddie is still a wanted man, and now that they think he kidnapped Adira, all of Hawking is going to be out looking for the two of them. We cant just go hike in the woods," He quickly calls out as Dustin ignores him and continues to walk away.
"Wait, they think that Eddie kidnapped me?" Adira spoke up in confusion, this was news to her, she had expected Jason to tell everyone that her and Eddie were working together and she was just as bad as Eddie... that she had assisted in killing Chrissy and Patrick.
"Seems like it," Lucas said to Adira, "Jason knows that nobody would believe that you would actually have something to do with Chrissy's death, and he himself knows that you would never hurt Chrissy... Andy, Patrick and Jason were actually really worried about you when they couldn't find you, they thought you were dead somewhere... I actually caught Andy crying about it."
Adira looked down in sadness, she was happy that the town didn't think that she had something to do with the deaths, but she was sad and guilty that they had thought Eddie was the one behind it and that he had kidnapped her
"So as I was saying, we need to keep you two hidden," Steve said, pointing to Adira and Eddie, "So Henderson, you better stop walking away, because we arent going."
Dustin rolls his eyes but stops walking and turns back around to look over at Steve, "this little steel capsule might be the key to saving both Max and Eddie," Dustin explained as he pointed at his compass. He looked over at Eddie, "what say you, Eddie the banished?"
They all looked away from Dustin and instead brought their attention to Eddie who was sitting over under skull rock, he had been staying quiet and just observing, he knew that he knew way less than all of the others, so he doubted that much of what he had to say would hold any relevance in the conversation
"I say that you are asking me to follow you into Mordor," Eddie muttered out, causing all of the people who had never read lord of the rings in their lives, to look at him in confusion whilst the other few stared at him in uncertainty, awaiting his answer, "which if i am totally straight with you, I think it is a really bad idea. But uh, the shire... the shire is burning."
Dustin began to jump around excitedly, knowing that Eddie was about to say yes to the idea. "Calm down Dusty bun, you might wet yourself with excitement in a moment," Adira muttered to the boy, an excited grin on her face as she looked between Eddie and Dustin. She knew that them going was the best idea, and she was sure that Eddie was going to say yes, but she was prepared to stand by Eddie whether he said yes or no.
Eddie put his hands down on his knees and pushed himself up from his squatted position, a small grin on his face as he looked over at Dustin, "so Mordor it is," Eddie said and then walked past Nancy and over to Dustin and Adira who were already ready to go. He grabbed onto Adira's hand and sent a small nod over to Dustin.
Adira was surprised that Steve hadn't done anything to stop her and Eddie getting together, and she was even more surprised that he hadn't tried to talk to her about it. She assumed that it was because there was so much going on at the moment and there were bigger things to worry about, but she planned on talking to him about it after all of this was over... and she wanted to talk to Max about it too.
The teens all got the hint and began to walk over to Dustin, Adira and Eddie and then Dustin used his compass to lead them through the woods in the direction of the supposed gate. "What is Mordor?" Steve muttered out in confusion, though he made sure that nobody else had heard him, worried that he was the only one who didn't know what Eddie was talking about.
"Oh shit hang on," Eddie muttered out and ran back to the spot where he and Adira had been staying, he quickly grabbed his stuff and began to shove it into his pockets
"Get your stuff dude come on," Steve groaned out to Eddie in annoyance before following after the rest of the teens and watching Eddie run back up to Adira and grab her hand again, "I swear she has the wierdest taste in guys," Steve muttered out with a sigh and shook his head in disappointment

They had been walking through the forest for ages, "c'mon Dustin, surely we are almost there," Adira muttered out in exhaustion. Dustin looked down at the compass which was spinning around really fast. Her legs were aching and she was hungry, she hadn't eaten anything all day and they were just walking around.
The sun had set and the sky was dark, the only light was from the moon, stars and flashlights in the teenagers hands. The cool night air had quickly set in and the teens were trying to stick close together, it wasn't safe to walk through the woods at night, it didn't take a genius to know that.
"Something is happening," Dustin replied quickly and then suddenly began to run, he knew that the compass spinning this fast had meant that they were getting extremely close to the thing that they were looking for.
"Are you shitting me?" Adira huffed and they all broke into a a small jog, following after Dustin who was getting faster and faster. They began to loose him in the woods, none of them seemed to have the same level of energy as Dustin and it showed as they let out groans of annoyance and exhaustion
"Dustin? Can you slow down?" Eddie called out to him, he had had more than enough excerisce for one day, walking was hard enough and now they had to run? Yeah no thank you, "Dustin!?"
Dustin finally stopped running and turned his head to look at them whilst walking, "I think that we are getting close," Dustin said to them with an excited grin. Adira was the first person to notice the water that Dustin was about to fall into, she quickly reached out and grabbed his shoulder, pulling him back gently
"Hey there Dustin, watch your step big guy," Adira said in worry as she pulled him back a little more, not wanting him to fall into the water, "if you fall in there you might get a cold," Adira said to him in a motherly fashion, a look of concern covering her pretty features.
The teens all stared out at the lake in a mixture of confusion, worry and annoyance. "Oh man," Steve muttered out as he glared at the familiar lake, "You have got to be shitting me," Steve groaned, shining his flashlight onto the water
"Of course, of course this is where the stupid compass lead us," Adira huffed out in annoyance
"Yeah..." Eddie added softly, the teens were all clearly extremely unhappy about where the compass had lead them. Adira and Eddie were here the night before, they had run away from here and now they are right back where they started. Like they had gone in a big, wonky circle, "I thought these woods were familiar."
"Lovers Lake," Robin confirmed, her eyes drifting over to Adira slightly, she had occasionally imagined the two of them coming out here one day and having a picknick on the side of the lake, or going in a boat, floating on the water while they talked the day away... she didn't imagine coming here late at night because there is a possibility that there is a gate to another dimension here
"This is... confounding," Dustin muttered out as all of them tried to decided if they thought there was a gate here or not, how long the gate has been here and why the hell there would be a gate here
"No, this is bullshit. Complete and total bullshit," Adira groaned out with a huff, "youre telling me that we have been running around all day just to end up where we had began?"
"There's a gate in lovers lake?" Maxine asked the question that they were all pondering in their heads
"Whenever the Demogorgan attacked, it always left an opening. Maybe Vecna is the same way," Nancy stated as she recalled past events from when they had dealt with stupid shit like this.
"Nancy is right, I mean, Patrick died here right, that leaves enough for our minds to assume that there is a strong probability that there is a gate here," Adira said, agreeing with Nancy who gave her a small smile
"Well there is only one way to find out," Steve said with a small sigh.
"To the boat!" Adira said in a shitty British accent and then her and Eddie began to lead them around the lake over to where they had left the boat. They only had to walk for about 5 minutes before they spotted the tarp covered boat on the side of the lake, they made their way over to it and pulled back the tarp, eyeing the shitty wooden boat.
"Sweet ride huh?" Adira asked sarcastically, looking down at the boat with a look of deep disgust. Eddie and Steve pushed the boat into the water
"Easy man, hey easy," Steve said to Eddie a few times as they pushed it over the rock and into the water. Just like his sister, Steve was also not a fan of boats, especially ones that looked like they were on the brink of falling apart.
"Sorry dude," Eddie muttered out, raising his hands in defense for a few short moments before he and Steve grabbed the boat to hold it steady while the girl lined up to let themselves in. Steve held his hand out to help Robin in but she just put her hands on both of their heads and stepped into the boat.
"Yeah, I'm just going to do that," Robin said carelessly as she shrugged her shoulders and made her way to the front of the boat and sat down, "thank you."
"Yeah that works too," Steve said sarcastically and holds the boat while Eddie lets go and then quickly steps into the boat, waiting for Adira to come over.
Adira grinned over at Robin, a small laugh falling from her lips before shaking her head and making her way over to the boat. Eddie held out one of his hands and helped her into the boat, "Harrington," Eddie muttered and let go of her hand so that she could sit down
"Thanks love," Adira muttered out and sat down next to Robin, sending her a wide grin. Eddie held his hand out for Nancy and helped her into the boat
"Wheeler," Eddie said and helped Nancy up who thanked him and then sat down opposite Adira. Dustin went to walk in next but Eddie flicked his forehead and shook his head, "hey hey hey, are you trying to sink us? This thing holds 4 people tops," Eddie said, causing Adira to look up as she realised that Steve would more than likely also hop into the boat
"Well maybe Steve and I should stay with the kids," Adira said and stood up quickly, looking over at Max, Dustin and Lucas, "I don't want to leave them alone, especially not when one of them is already bloody cursed." Adira said quickly
"They will be fine, we are the ones going on the lake to check for the gate, we need all the help that we can get," Nancy tried to explain to Adira who walked over to the back of the boat, ready to get out
"I realise that Nance, but I dont know if it is a good idea to leave the kids over here by themselves," Adira tried to explain
"We need you Adira, you literally have superpowers, you're our best chance at the moment," Robin tried to explain
"We will be fine," Maxine says and Lucas nods his head, Dustin on the other hand was too busy looking at Eddie with a look of disappointment, he wanted to go with them on the boat.
"It's better this way okay, you guys stay here with Max," Nancy said gesturing to Lucas and Dustin, "keep an eye out for trouble," nancy explained to Dustin
"You keep an eye out for trouble," Dustin fired back, causing Nancy to look at him in disbelief, she clearly didn't expect him to back talk her like that, she gave him a wide eyed look which he mocked instantly, not planning on letting the older Wheeler boss him around, "its my theory."
"You heard Nance," Robin said and gave him a stern look
"Well who put her in charge?" Dustin fired back
"I did," Robin replied
"Well why isn't Adira in charge?" Max, Lucas and Dustin all fired back at the same time.
Adira stood up and looked at them all, "its okay guys, just stay here and we will be back as soon as possible, we couldn't of done this without you Dusty," Adira said to him with a small sigh. Dustin looked at her for a small moment before nodding his head, "and we arent planning on actually going through the gate remember, we are just seeing if there is anything out there."
Nancy stuck her hand out towards Dustin, "Compass," she commanded sternly. Dustin rolled his eyes once more before handing the compass over to Adira who had to hide her grin before handing it over to Nancy.
"Hey, there you go!" Steve said and quickly threw the backpack at Dustin and then pushed the boat further into the water and jumped in
"You said 4!" Dustin called out in annoyance. Steve looked back at Dustin with a fake look of guilt
"Sorry," Steve said and waved at them
"Bed time at 9 kiddos," Robin called out. Dustin flipped her off and glared at all of the teens on the boat
"One of us should have stayed back with them," Adira said in worry, looking over at the three teens on the bank, "maybe I should go back and stay with them," she said and went to stand up but Eddie grabbed her wrist
"They will be fine sweetheart," Eddie told her. Adira was filled with concern but she hesitantly nodded her head, sitting back down comfortably in her chair
"Be careful you guys, I love you!" Adira called out to them, waving over in their direction, "If something happens, call out to us okay, we will come straight back."
