???: "Zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz"
The loud snoring came from 2 individuals almost in perfect unison, both sleeping together in the same bed, on the left side a H/C haired male wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and to his right was a woman with emerald green hair in a tank top and shorts. Both of them currently resting with there limbs sprawled out and entangled together with blanket above them barley covering any of them at all, as if it was hastily thrown on top them.
The room around them was fairly large and organised, with only a few rays of light illuminating the room through gap between the curtains covering the window, said light revealing the occasional odd bit of loose clothing littering the floor. The room itself had had a good amount of furniture and decorations covering it, with a nightstand on either side of the bed and a large wardrobe opposite to the shared the bed, along the walls were various framed pictures of the man and woman; varying from photos of the two of them together smiling, to the green haired woman posing in a cat themed outfit with 3 other individuals dressed in similar attire.
Focusing on the slumbering pair, both are now identifiable to anyone with in depth knowledge of Japan's current active heroes. The H/C man being known as Y/N L/N or more commonly known by his alias as the hero Inquisitive, currently ranked as Japan's 36th ranked hero at the previous Hero Billboard Chart. The woman resting besides Y/N is known as Tomoko L/N previous known as Tomoko Shiretoko, Tomoko is also hero that works under the name Ragdoll who is a member of the hero team the Wild, Wild Pussycats, the team itself being ranked 32nd in Japan which Tomoko and one of her teammates occasionally (read as; constantly) like to brag about to Y/N about their higher ranking.
The two of continue to peacefully enjoy their own definition of paradise, that being asleep and in bed and maybe including their spouse if they're in the mood to deal with other people. However as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, that being the necessary evil in their lives which is...
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
The alarm.
As the irritating noise continues to repeat the pair finish their synchronised snoring signifying they're are both now reluctantly awake. Both now beginning to release groans of annoyance due to their sleep being interrupted, eventually realising that the noise won't stop unless they do something about it, the married couple begin moving in an effort turn off the alarm, however in their groggy state they just end up flailing their arms in the general direction of the noise.
The alarm set to go off at this time was Y/N's and as such was on his side of the bed, while it was within Y/N's reach it wasn't within Tomoko's and as such her attempts to turn the alarm off only ended with her slapping her husband's face.
Given Y/N's new 'motivation' to wake up he soon found the alarm and successfully ended the alarm's alarm (?), both now begrudgingly awake they soon found themselves in a brief silence and playing the game they usually play when they wake up called "whose going to be the responsible one" where the so-called 'winner' gets make breakfast for everyone and the apparent 'looser' gets to sleep in for a few minutes. Eventually Y/N decided to end their miniature Cold War by speaking up whilst blankly staring at the ceiling.
Y/N: "Tomoko?" He speaks with a flat tone
The woman in question kept her eyes closed and instead pulls more of the blanket to cover herself
Tomoko: "Yes dear?" She barely mumbles out loud whilst taking even more blanket for herself
Y/N beginning to feel a lack of warmth realises his wife's selfish actions
Y/N: "I made breakfast yesterday so it's your turn" he retorts with his own logic whilst his attempts regain the shared blanket are in vain
The cat themed hero doesn't give up any ground and instead doubles down on her stance
Tomoko: "But I'm feeling sick and I need a cat nap" her defence comes out comes out with a childish tone and an unseen pout
Y/N: "Didn't you say that yesterday as well?" he optimistically hopes to get her to give in and take responsibility
Tomoko: "B-but it's still pretty bad and I'll make it up to you when I'm feeling better" beginning to beg hoping Y/N will give in
Feeling his wife's words were sincere and not just an excuse to avoid responsibility, Y/N let's an exaggerated groan as to express his reluctancy and as a childish way of stating "if I don't get to sleep more neither do you". With his small revenge done with, Y/N removes what little blanket still covers him as to get suitably dressed to roam the halls of their home, as no matter how healthy a father may be, a shirtless dad is one thing any child hopes to never see.
Tomoko: "Yay, love you Y/N" she lets out a quiet celebration
Y/N: "Good to know I'm appreciated for my hard work" he once again speaks in a flat tone with a hint of sarcasm
Tomoko: "Hey I appreciate everything you do" whilst grumbling out her retort her face scrunches up with the implications of his words
Y/N: "Yeah yeah now get some rest grumpy cat, got any preference on breakfast?" His tone lightens in the hopes of not leaving Tomoko in a poor mood
Y/N having gotten dressed turns back to his wife to see her groggy yellow eyes glancing at him in the doorway staring back at his E/C ones
Tomoko: "Hmm surprise me, but make sure it's regular food, I'm not making that mistake again" she finishes with a scowl recalling a certain memory
Y/N: "Heh you asked for a surprise and I'd say chocolate covered bacon was a surprise" he states with a chuckle at the memory
Y/N thinks back to his habit of taking anything he can literally for his amusement: ask him to sign a piece of paper? He'll write his name anywhere but where it's not supposed to go, ask him for a pizza and he'll chuck a frozen pizza on your lap. Having learnt this source of entertainment for him, Tomoko is careful to word her sentences when Y/N is a joking mood.
Tomoko: "Hmmmmmm I guess, now leave Mrs L/N will not accept any sloppy cat food to start her day" despite the ridiculousness of his previous statement, Tomoko as usual decides to not sour a good mood and rather join it so they can both smile together
Y/N delivers a mock bow with a slight smirk on his still tired face
Y/N: "Of course your majesty, I'll be sure to make sure the prince and princess are ready for when you decide to grace them with your presence" he replies in a somewhat posh accent
Tomoko: "Good good that will be all" replying in an equal posh accent and after a few chuckles at the situation, she rests her head in the hopes of finding the motivation to get out of bed
After receiving his 'orders' Y/N slightly closes the door, not too open as to not bother her but not closed so she doesn't accidentally drift off to sleep. Making his way down the hallways of the home Y/N arrives at his first stop, a door that blends in with the rest of the doors around it but with one feature separating it from the others, a sign on the door which reads
"Kazuha"
On the other side of the door was Kazuha L/N the 7 year old first child of Y/N L/N and Tomoko L/N, in terms of appearance Kazuha shared almost every aspect with his father except for his eyes and quirk which were the same as his mother's. Currently Kazuha was up and with already packed bag for school, why you may ask? Simple
Bragging rights
Kazuha himself inherited both joyful parts of his parents and for better and worse he tries to find humour in everything, wether that be him laughing with people or at them. Despite this troublesome attitude Kazuha is any regular 7 year old in the era of quirks, that being having dreams of becoming a hero. Whilst not being as fanatical as a certain piece of broccoli about heroes he is what many would refer to as a fanboy of sorts, the main targets of his interest being both of his parents (which they both definitely don't let get to their heads and don't brag about to their friends, that'd never happen) who seeks to act like them when he one day becomes a hero.
Hearing a knocking on his door and his name being called by his dad, Kazuha is brought out of his random thoughts and grabs his school bag ready to present his current state to his dad to compare to him. Opening the door in his full school uniform looking ready to be at school the first child of the L/N family glances up and down at father taking in his appearance with a devious smirk on his face. Y/N currently wearing what'd only be appropriate to wear indoors and would be shunned for wearing this outside, preemptively rolls his eyes and sighs ready for his morning 'greeting' with his son.
Kazuha: "Hey dad, glad to see your up and ready to set an example for me" the little sh- kid greets with a fiendish chuckle
Y/N not really bothered having gotten used to this has his own smirk and comment prepared
Y/N: "Of course I am, that's why the next example for you to follow is making breakfast for the whole family, I'll wake your sister up with the good news" the father begins walking away towards the youngest L/N child's door already knowing his son is regretting his words AGAIN
Paling at his humour backfiring, Kazuha tries to fix this situation before he ends up having to cook for and most likely poison his family
Kazuha: "Hehehe got you good dad, don't worry being the responsible guy I am I'll take the hard job for you, breakfast is all yours" with a nervous giggle Kazuha rushes ahead of Y/N to his sisters room
Y/N right now was laughing in his head like some evil scientist watching the world burn right now, having successfully manipulated his son into doing some work for him. Bad parenting? Probably, smart move? Absolutely, reason for this being the matter of the youngest person in the house currently. Kazuha having yet to realise this approaches the door of his younger sister
Kotori L/N
The daughter of the two married heroes having her door decorated with every sticker she ever found, on the other side of the randomly decorated door was a 3 year old still in bed sleeping. Kotori L/N's appearance made her look like a younger version of her mother, and to a scary degree, if you compared pictures of a 3 year old Tomoko to Kotori right now anyone would be hard pressed to find a difference between the 2, even personality wise Kotori acts exactly like Tomoko used to, much to the horror of Y/N and the joy of Tomoko.
Back with Y/N he was currently making breakfast for the family of 4 with his regular blissful smile on his having avoided the worst part of the morning routine in the L/N household, knowing that Kazuha would do whatever it takes to get a laugh at his father by "doing a better job at waking Kotori" than him, Kazuha had yet to succeed no matter how many times he tried.
After many minutes of hearing the young boy raise his voice Y/N had finished making breakfast and placing it on the table, his attention was brought to when he heard only 1 pair of legs making it down the stairs, signifying Kazuha had failed. Y/N was soon corrected and brought into hysterics as he saw the sight and his son's creativity, currently Kazuha was entering the kitchen whilst carrying Kotori (who was still in her pyjamas) on his back while she still slept and drooled on her brother's shoulder.
Eventually with the teamwork of both father and son Kotori was in her seat facing her usual diabetes inducing breakfast, as the scent of a sugary breakfast made its way up her nose her eyes shot open reveal them in their shiny yellow glory. Glancing around the young girl let out an excited gasp before immediately chowing down on the food in front of her not even giving a word to her dad or brother, which earned an amused laugh from both and hearing this Kotori looked up to see the two finally realising their presence and immediately tried talking to the 2 of them resulting in chewed food launching across the table.
Kazuha: "AHHHHH!" The boy recoils whilst he screams in horror, raising his arms to shield himself from the debris coming from Kotori's mouth
Y/N was having his second laugh whilst in the kitchen today at the sight, only to realise he should probably get an adult so they sort the situation out...
Oh wait HE'S an adult
Y/N: "Tori finish what's in your mouth first, then speak"
Kotori stops for a while 5 seconds before her eyes widen in realisation at what her dad just said, quickly swallowing before immediately trying to speak whatever she was trying to before when she was eating.
Kotori: "Oh sorry daddy, but I'm so excited! I just got my quirk" she giggles before returning to the breakfast on her plate
Y/N and Kazuha both glance at each other to make sure neither of them missed anything
Kazuha: "Oh? You got yours early? What is it?" Kazuha decides to ask the question for both him and his dads curiosity
Kotori prepares to answer but wakes a swift correction and swallows the food she's still chewing them let's out a large smile with stars in her eyes
Kotori: "Teleration!"
Confusion intensifies
The males at the table both baffled by the word that Kotori seemingly just made up, Y/N not wanting to ruin the girls enthusiasm decides to ask a question that won't bring her down
Y/N: "Hey Tori, daddy's not heard of that one before, what's 'teleration'?"
The little girl seems overjoyed by the question her daddy asked, finally feeling smart and being able to explain something to someone else rather than it be explained to her. Taking in a deep breath and puffing out her chest in pride she prepares to explain something that not even her dad knows.
Kotori: "Teleration is when something goes from one place to another" her smile never wavers and only get wider seeing her dad AND brother both not knowing what she's talking about, is this what smart people feel like?
Kazuha: "Like walking?" Kazuha attempts a small joke at what he assumes she's mistaken her quirk to be something anyone with working legs can do
Kotori: "No no no silly, teleration is when you don't have to walk or anything, you just get there" she replies whist trying to mimic her mother when she's explaining something, reminding Y/N just how similar the 2 are
After a moment of silence Y/N comes to a conclusion on what she meant
Y/N: "You mean teleportation?" He asks with genuine curiosity
Kotori realises the blunder she had just made and acts quickly to cover it up
Kotori: "O-oh yeah daddy, I meant to say that I was just busy chewing" she used an excuse which made no sense

With Kazuha busy laughing like a mad man Y/N is left wondering out of his and his wife's quirks what kind of convoluted mutation of them made teleportation? In his moment of trying to figure out how...

Kazuha decides to try to get to the bottom of things
Kazuha: "When'd you get it then? You didn't tell us yesterday" this drew Y/N out of the world of biology and back to reality as he was curious at the answer to his sons question
Kotori: "Oh I just got it right now so I couldn't do it yesterday"
CONFUSION INTENSIFIES
The males in the room now quickly recalling their memories to see if maybe they missed something leading Kazuha to voice his confusion
Kazuha: "Where'd you teleport to?"
Kotori: "I teleported here, I went to bed like my friends told me as sleep and milk means good bones, and good bones means quirks, so cause I did it so much and so well I got my super cool quirk and got from my bed to breakfast"
While Kazuha was still trying to piece together the spew of words that just left Kotori's mouth, Y/N had just cracked the case. One of Kotori's friends probably heard about the difference in toe joints between people with and without quirks and just chalked it down to 'good bones', then related this to milk's calcium and somehow sleeping (he isn't sure how she got that last one, he doesn't remember if sleeping is good for bones, that's something they probably teach you in school and forget immediately after), then figured lots of sleep and milk meant quirks and spread it out to her friends to look smart. As for the 'teleportation' part he figures Kotori going to sleep in bed and then suddenly waking up in the kitchen made her think she teleported, forgetting that they had to move her as the pain of Kotori was that she was an incredibly deep sleeper.
Now Y/N had a problem, he had to curb her enthusiasm without breaking her dreams of having a 'super cool quirk', hey he's been a dad for 7 years, how hard could it be?
Y/N: "Hey Tori? You know we just moved you downstairs right?" Hey may as well be blunt right? She shouldn't get confused by that
Kotori: "Huh?!" She looks like she just heard her whole life was a lie
Kazuha was just in the corner observing with a chuckle
Y/N: "Yeah, you know how hard it is to wake you up right? Well Kaz had to carry you down from your room and the breakfast probably woke you up" he was relying on one thing to make this all go smoothly whilst he had a joyful smile on his face in the hopes of displaying his honesty
Kotori: "Oh..."
Seconds past Kazuha has switched from laughing to concerned for his sister, Y/N was literally on the edge of his seat hoping it went well, Kotori looked like a philosopher right now and Tomoko was somewhere else in the house throwing up into a toilet.
Anyway...
Kotori: "...Ok!" She replied with a glowing smile and like nothing had happened in the first place went back to breakfast without a care in the world, Y/N happy with how his daughter reacted went back to eating breakfast again like nothing happened, Kazuha on the other hand...
Kazuha: "Huh?!" Out of all the family members he lacked the care free nature they all had which often lead to situations like this, everyone going back to normal like everything was normal despite a child's hopes and dreams of having a quirk nearly being destroyed
Looking around Kazuha realised there would be no point in trying to bother with this, god this family was so tiring. By the time breakfast was done and Kotori and Y/N were both ready in appropriate outdoor clothing, Tomoko decided to make an appearance as they were all at the front door, looking rather pale while doing so.
Tomoko: "Hey kittens planning on leaving without saying bye to momma?" Tomoko greeted with her arms spread expecting what her children's response would be
Kazuha/Kotori: "MOMMY!" Whilst they ran to hug their mother in the corner Y/N was currently sulking wondering why his children didn't greet him like that, was it because he told them she was sick? Would it be worth getting sick to get that kinda treatment?
Kotori: "Hey mommy guess what? I just got my quirk and it was teleration but then it turns out it was teleportation BUT THEN it turns out I was just really sleepy and woke up to breakfast!" She rattled off the story without even taking time to breathe
In response to this Tomoko just smiled and nodded, normally that'd mean to a regular person that Tomoko was just nodding to keep her happy, but to Y/N he knew she just understood the entire story from that alone, the two were practically the same anyways.
Kazuha: "Are you alright? Dad said you were feeling sick" he spoke with a concerned look one that the rest of the family mirrored
Tomoko: "Don't worry I'm fine, just a hair ball" she finished with a chuckle whilst the other family members felt sick from hearing the details
Kazuha started bouncing up and down on his feet in excitement at an idea he just had
Kazuha: "Oh when I pick up Kotori after I'm done at school, I'll go buy some ice cream" he declared like he just solved world hunger
Tomoko: "Awwwww Kaz your so sweet, we have plenty in the house anyway so it fine" she replied rubbing her cheek against her son's much to his despair and Kotori's and Y/N's amusement and jealousy
Kazuha: "Hey it's not for you, it's for us because while we leave you at home all day you'll eat all the ice cream in the house" Tomoko's cheek rubbing soon ended and instead was surrounded in a depressing aura
Tomoko: "Oh I guess your right..." the aura only appeared to get stronger until...
Tomoko: "Oh well" She immediately returned to her happy self, leaving the following reactions
Kazuha was confused as he could never get used to this family despite always being with them
Kotori was smiling and nodding her head not knowing what was going on other than mommy was happy and they were buying ice cream
Y/N had actually zoned out a few minutes ago and was looking at some bird doing bird things
Tomoko: "So no worries today kittens mommas home all day today, I'm just gonna call your aunt Shino to let her know I won't be able to go to the agency today" she spoke out her plan but it was mainly her saying it for herself so she didn't forget to do anything
Y/N on the other hand at the mention of hero work had been brought back to the conversation and soon spoke up
Y/N: "Oh speaking of hero work, I'm gonna be a bit late home today" he replied still smiling despite having to put more hours in
The children deflated at the news at their dad returning home later than usual whilst Tomoko was the curious cat Y/N used to nickname her as
Tomoko: "Why's that? Not just the regular patrol today?" She questioned with a finger on her chin and a tilted head, something Y/N never failed to find adorable
Y/N: "Nah I got a request on the HN that some heroes over in Musutafu need help catching some villain with some kind of a sludge quirk that's been giving them trouble and they asked for quirks to help slow him down"
Whilst Tomoko's mouth and an O shape in reaction and realisation, the kids didn't understand much except some heroes needed help from THEIR dad, further solidifying in their hearts that their dad was a great hero.
After eventually saying their goodbyes with Kazuha taking Kotori to daycare so then he can go to school, Y/N going to his rather small agency that he ran by himself to get in his gear and Tomoko already gathering up all ice cream in the house to satisfy her cravings. Soon Y/N was at the train station to head to Musutafu to aid in the capture on the sludge villain, whilst he wasn't in the top 10 of heroes in Japan he was known enough that if he were to walk into someone would recognise him, after waving to some fans whilst bordering the train he lay back to get some rest for the mission ahead.
It was just one villain right?
No crazy shenanigans to decide the next number 1 right?
After all in a world full of heroes he was Just another extra
