"Y/NNNNNN! HIIII" An over exited Yoimiya attached herself to your neck. You tried to breathe and free yourself from her grasp after greeting her and patting her head a couple of times, but she didn't move a muscle, holding on for dear life.
"Don't shoo me away that easily, I've missed you!"
"Yoimiya, come on, you didn't see her for just two days" you heard Gorou's deep voice from your left, where he was waiting in his car for you two.
"Hi Gorou! That new shirt looks good on you" you told him, while finally Yoimiya set you free. Your words seemed to embarrass him, as he looked away and replied with a shy "T-thank you. You look nice too"
After a little more time, you finally got into the car, in the middle seat of the back line, between Kazuha, who greeted you with a bright smile like always, and Yoimiya who was trying to defend herself from Gorou's accusation of attachment issues. Until Itto, the boy you saw only one time, started to make a scene similar to Yoimiya's, so Gorou changed his mind and started the car.
"Never mind Yoimiya, someone's here clearly grew more attached to Y/n then you, and in definitely less time"
"Hey, got something against me, dog boy?" The long-haired boy at the passenger seat spoke, and for an instant you got worried a fight would start.
"What?! I'm not a dog boy, please stop, Kazuha make him stop for archons' sake"
"If you're not a dog boy, are you a dog girl then? I'm sure you'd look am-am-amazing in a nice long dress"
"Ugh, this is going to be a long day"
"Ahahahha, oh, c'mon little dude! I still remember when you barked at your neighborhood's dog, don't try to hide you're true identity, show it with pride!"

After an hour of Itto's jokes, strategies for when, in his opinion, you would have challenged kids on games, winning all their candies because "Best flavor in the world? The sweet, sweet taste of victory. And that's why I've never spent a single Mora on any of my snacks! I've won 'em all, fair and square! Heh, that's right", after an hour of laughing with your friends and talking about the most absurd things you could imagine, you finally arrived.
At least, you saw the mall. Getting down in the underground parking lot was a totally different story, that took another almost twenty minutes almost.
"I feel like they wanted to trick us. They just placed a signal there, like 'yeah go straight' and then poof, suddenly all signals disappeared, and we ended up gods know where" you were complaining, to make Gorou feel a little bit better, since he felt like it was his fault when it clearly wasn't. Kazuha assisted you.
"Yes, it was very poorly indicated. But alas, we're here, everything is fine"
"Oh maaann yeh-heahhhh, time to eat ahahah!" Itto already sprinting to the main door, forcing everyone to speed up. "Let's just pray not everything has beans here..."
You spend one of the best afternoons of your life, going in and out of every store, even if you didn't buy anything because you didn't need a single thing, then you dropped by the arcade room and even the cinema in the mall, and in a blink of an eye if was already past 7pm, time to get back home.
Gorou dropped everyone in a rush near his, Yoimiya's, Itto's and Kazuha's house, after getting a call from his housemate: she was at the hospital after fainting, probably because she always overworked herself, as Gorou stated.
Now, everyone was near their house, and sure it was late and almost dark outside, but you couldn't ask anyone to drop you home when they were already there. Fortunately for you, Kazuha was an angel of a man and lifted all your worries with a single phrase "Well, Itto, Yoimiya, I'll see Y/n off, so you should head home. See you another time, soon hopefully"
"Okeyyy, see you Y/n!" Yoimiya waved at you, and Itto imitated her getting on in a fight with her. Thank Celestia they were joking around, Itto could have crushed her skull with a flick on her forehead. After all, he had to have an amazing strength, given how he was carrying the box of is newly acquired "gym thingy" like it was an empty box.
You turned to Kazuha, who was already facing the road to your house "Thank you, I really appreciate it... You sure you won't go back too late?"
"I'm more then sure, rest assured. I would never let you walk all the way there alone. And moreover, it's always nice to have some time to spend with a friend, isn't it?"
"Mh, yes. By the way, is Gorou's friend gonna be ok?"
"Kokomi? Probably. Her excellency is sadly used to these kinds of situations. Her body is too fragile for the stress she pushes herself through"
"Ow, that's bad. Maybe this time she will learn not to overdo herself"
"You're kind of like her though, Hu Tao told us how you used to shut yourself at home and only study all day everyday"
"Yeah... But she's right, I used to. I mean, yeah ok, when I have like an exam I can't help it. I just feel like I could have always done more. But I'm changing, I have you guys who always drag me out of my little room and make me live the world, I'm very grateful for that, I feel like I've living a good life now... Aaaaanyyywayyy, why did you call Gorou's friend 'her excellency', if I way?"
"Oh, she was the head of the student council when we were in high school for the whole 5 years, she kind of is a legend in our old school. And Gorou and me were in the council under her watch, besides being in the same class, so we also are used to address her in a more formal way from time to time. And now she got used to it too, so we rarely even notice we call her 'her excellency'. At the beginning, when students started to call her like that, she was so flustered and shy about it" he chuckled lightly, a beautiful melody that comes with a smile that's pure art.
"That's so cute, so you're all friends form a long time ago"
"Well, not childhood friends, but yes"
"From your face, it seems like you have a lot of good memories with them"
"I do indeed. One time, our teacher of the first period had to take a day off, so the whole class could enter an hour later, but we had the bus only at the regular time, so we got there anyway. We then walked to the town center and made breakfast in a very cute café, that, to our disgrace, had an amazing display of any type of cake. We thought we could try a couple of tastes, but... we ended up being late because they were so good that we lost track of time. We ran but still couldn't make it before the teacher of the second period arrived. Fortunately, she was the best one we had, she always was so sweet and caring. You know, those teachers that actually love kids and don't make you feel like you're in a prison. So, she asked us where we were of course, but we answered her honestly and scored a sort of class trip to that same cafeteria at the end of the school day"
"That's so wholesome! It almost feels like a scene from a movie"
You two talked, laughed and walked in peaceful silence for a while more, until you were in front of your house, at around 9pm. It still wasn't really dark, you thought it would have been worst, but it was the middle of summer after all. You dibbed your farewell to Kazuha, thanked him for seeing you off, and entered the house.
The first thing you saw was a piece of paper in a really visible spot, left from your parents: they went to your grandparents' house because your grandma didn't feel too well but didn't want to go to the hospital either. You hoped everything was going all right, nothing serious maybe. Making a mental note to call your parents later, you read the post scriptum on the letter: "p.s. please go quickly to the groceries store around the corner and buy some vegetables, we only have carbs left at home. we will be home at around 10pm probably"

You placed the paper down and left once again the house. Later on, you would have regretted that choice so dearly.
