Happy Reading!

Nishtha had completely blocked out Kabir. Even during dinner, she replied him in single words. She knew she was overreacting but she couldn't help but stay angry at Kabir. She was extremely close to winning until Kabir came and turned the whole game against her.

"Nishu" Kabir entered her room singing her name. She looked up from her phone and glared at him.

"Kya hai?"(What) She asked rudely.

"Let's go for ice-cream" Kabir said it intentionally knowing it is her weak point.

"My choice ice-cream and you will pay"

"Dude, you earn in thousands and yet behaving like a beggar, sharam kar (Have shame)" He said, trying to save his money. She fake smiled at him.

"I'll go alone then" She stood up and placed the phone in her pyjama pocket and pulled her hair in a ponytail.

"Fine, chal aab(Let's go now)" He pulled her with him and walked downstairs.

"Soham bhai, Pooja di and others?" She questioned seeing that it was only them.

"Already reached your fav. spot. My friends are also going to be there" He took his bike keys and both walked to the garage.

"Ohh" She sat behind Kabir as he rode the bike to her favourite ice-cream parlour. She saw her cousins already eating their ice-creams. She quickly got off the bike and ran inside the ice-cream parlour to get her ice-cream.

"Can I get a chocochip icecream?" She asked the man working there.  He gave her the ice-cream which she quickly took it from his hands and started eating it with her eyes closed, enjoying the taste of it. Kabir and her cousins and his friends chuckled at her behaviour. Pooja and Nistha sat on a bench and started eating their ice-cream. Before the boys could reach them, their ice-creams were finished.

"Lemon popsicle, please" Pooja and Nishtha said with a pout, looking at Kabir. He couldn't resist the cuteness overloaded on their faces and agreed that they could buy.

Pooja and Nishtha practically ran to get another one. Kabir's friends mostly consisted of boys but there was one girl. She was Dhvani, his friend, Dev's wife. His friends are, Dev, Shikhar and Pranav. His family and friends were one team, everyone knew everyone, despite their age differences. Even the youngest family members friends were everyone's friends.

Nishtha and Pooja were on their way out, when they say a black jeep.  They couldn't resist the urge to sit on the jeep and enjoy their ice-cream. They motioned Dhvani to join them. She slowly left the men to themselves and ran to Pooja and Nishtha with her ice-cream.

"That's a really hot jeep" Dhvani drooled on it.

"Kya atom bomb lagti hai yeh? (It looks like an atom bomb)" Nishtha said agreeing to it.

"Let's hop onto it" The three girls managed to sit on the jeep, ensuring that its owner was nowhere near. They all moaned at the ice-cream taste.

"Jeep and ice-cream, what a good combination it is" Nishtha said with her eyes closed.

"Whoever's jeep it is, he is truly blessed with a good selection choice" Pooja replied, feeling the cold metal surface of the jeep.

"I am so in love with this jeep" Dhvani leaned down onto the window shield, letting its coolness seep into her. Nishtha and Pooja also followed her trend.

"Are we all sugar high?" Nishtha asked while the other two agreed to it. They were having the third ice-cream. Nishtha and Pooja finished their 2nd ice-cream while standing inside the parlour.

"I wish it was a person, I would have practically fucked it" Pooja said, placing a kiss on the window-shield.

"Maybe you can fuck the owner of the jeep" A young man, cleared his throat to grab the attention of the three ladies.

"As long as he is young and handsome, I'll do it happily" Pooja said smiling to herself. Dhvani and Nishtha laughed at Pooja's unfiltered thoughts.

"Well he is, you can check for yourself, that is if you open your eyes" The man answered laughing. Dhvani, Nistha and Pooja realised that they were not 3 who were talking but there was someone else who was talking with them. Upon realization, they sat straight and opened their eyes. Their eyes widened in shock seeing that their brothers, Kabir's friends, Isha and her senior work friends were all laughing at them. They quickly got down from the jeep, apologizing for sitting on it. They didn't lift their eyes even once.

As Pooja was walking towards Soham, a hand suddenly stopped her, and pulled her back.

"Am the owner of the jeep, darling"He said smirking. Pooja turned even a darker shade of red. She almost resembled a beetroot.

"Am sorry" With her head held low, she tried running away but he again stopped her.

"My kiss is still pending, sweet tooth" He whispered in her ear, just so that only she could hear. She lifted her gaze and glared at him.

"Never and get lost, pervert" She snatched her hand away from his. Her brothers were busy in teasing their sisters that they didn't notice the exchange between Pooja and the man, except for Isha and her one friend, Jinil. They saw the way his eyes trailed at Pooja's retreating figure.

"She is out of your league, Siddharth" Isha said in his ear and gave him a pat on his shoulder.

"She truly is" Jinil said, standing beside Siddharth.

"I'll have her, she'll be madly in love with me, before the wedding finishes, note it down" Siddharth said smirking.

"She won't, she's got a past" Jinil said crossing his hands.

"Then she will move on and fall for me" Siddharth gaze didn't waver from Pooja even for a second.

"You bet?" Jinil asked laughing. Siddharth agreed to it at once and shook hands with Jinil.

Isha and her friends had come out for an ice-cream treat before she belongs to her husband. They were having a friends night out before everyone gets busy in the wedding preparations. Isha was more friendly with her seniors than her own age friends, because they all seemed to be taking advantage of her while her work friends didn't give a flying fuck even if she was the president's daughter. They treated her normally. Everyone mingled together, nicely, except for Pooja avoiding Siddharth at all costs.

"I heard about today's UNO game" Isha said smiling at Nishtha.

"Your to-be husband and your brother Vikrant are at fault. UNO isn't a game, its a fucking battle which I've won everytime, until your brother happened today and your fiance decided to poke his long nose in the middle" She said getting angry on Vikrant and Kabir.

"Forgive these mad kids, jaan" Isha persuaded her.

"Just because you are saying am forgiving Kabir, or else I would have only forgiven him after making him bankrupt" Nishtha rolled her eyes at Kabir's puppy eyes.

"Let's leave, we need to get up early tomorrow" Pooja and Dhvani stood up. Pooja glared at Sidharth for staring at her continously. Everyone started to pack up and leave. Pooja pulled Sidharth in a corner.

"Next time if you will stare at me, I will fucking remove your eyes and donate it to someone who needs it" She pushed him onto a car and warned him.

"I'll still be able to see you through the eyes of my heart" He said slowly, making her even angrier.

"Don't even come infront of me or else I'll kill you" She stomped on his feet harshly and left from there.

"Suvaar ki aulaad (Pig's child)" She cursed him loudly making him laugh at her anger.

The next day came sooner than expected. Mehta house was filled with laughter and commands. Isha and her family were coming for the engagement. Isha wore a heavy sky blue lehenga. Professional make-up artists were called for her. Pairing it with heavy bangles and earrings, her hair were pulled into a messy bun. Kritika decided to wear a blush pink saree while Shraddha wore an indowestern golden and red dress. Pooja opted to wear a red and yellow bandhani saree while Nishtha wore a lilac lehenga.

(Comment on my dress selection choice)

Isha and Kabir sat on the stage, as the panditji recitedd mantras. The girls were catching up on each other, when Siddharth and gang decided to show up.

"Hey Krits" He hugged Kritika side ways, and looked at Pooja who looked annoyed with his presence. He shook hands with Nishtha, complementing her dressing style, making her blush in shyness. He moved towards Pooja to shake hands.

"I need to check on the guests" Saying that Pooja left the group, angrily. Siddharth couldn't help but smile at Pooja's attitude. Pooja was walking without looking ahead, as she was typing something important on her phone. She unknowingly banged into someone.

"Am so sorry" She immediately muttered.

"Pooja" She lifted her eyes, acknowledging the voice.

"Jaidev" She whispered his name. Her eyes filled up with tears.

"Who is she?" The girl on his arm asked, politely.

"My ex-wife, Pooja" He said fluently but didn't realise the heartbreak on the other hand. Pooja was losing her stand infront of him. She was weak on her knees and was about to fall, when Siddharth placed his hand on her waist and stood beside her.

"Who is he Pooja?" Jaidev asked Pooja looking at Siddharth.

"Her boyfriend" Siddharth said without stuttering. Pooja and Jaidev looked at him in shock. Pooja tried to move away from his grip, but he duck his face in her neck.

"Please play along" He whispered to her. She looked at him unsurely.

"How are you Yukti?" Siddarth held out his hand for a hand shake with Yukti.

"Am good, as you can see" She said entwining her hand with Jaidev's.

"Enjoy, I need to leave" Pooja walked out from there as she couldn't see the man she once loved with all her heart, loving a girl who isn't her. She walked to the garden area where there was no one and burst into tears. She sat in the patio and pulled her legs to herself and dug her face in between her knees and continued crying. Siddharth had seen her walk to the garden, so he followed her. He saw a crying Pooja and instant;y felt guilty for the bet he did with his friend Jinil. At this point it no longer mattered to him. He now understood what past Jinil was talking about. He caressed Pooja's head, lovingly as she burst into a new set of tears.

"Pooja" He knelt infront of her and called her slowly. Pooja, looked up with her crying face. She immediately wiped her tears and got up to leave. He pulled her back and made her sit.

"Why are you crying?" He asked sternly.

"None of it concerns you"

"Fine, I'll go tell Soham that you were crying" He stood up to leave but she stopped him.

"Don't. Let them enjoy" She didn't let him go.

"Then tell me why you were crying" He sat beside her.

"I was married to Jaidev"

"Ohh, no wonder, you didn't look at him with attitude that's always on your nose but why are you crying" He asked her earning a glare.

"We've divorced because he cheated on me with that girl who is with him right now" She answered angrily.

"Fuck, am so sorry" He immediately knelt down infront of her.

"You still love him"

"Arey nai baba. I was crying because I loved such a man who didn't deserve my love. I can't believe he moved on from me within 6 months. Here I am, still afraid to gamble in love" Pooja had stopped crying and she was feeling frustrated.

"Date me"

"Am sorry" She looked at him in shock.

"See, the girl with him, was my ex gf, She cheated on me with Jaidev. Our love wasn't wrong, we just loved the wrong person. This doesn't mean that we shouldn't love anyone anymore. Give me a chance" He said with determination in his eyes.

"And why should I? What guarantee that you won't leave me heartbroken? What is your gain here?" She looked at him in doubt.

"I've got nothing to lose but if you say yes, maybe, we will get someone to love or we will know that we were never meant for each other"

"We don't need to do all that, I already know it, that we aren't made for each other"

"You should experiment dear. You may discover something different and new. You won't lose anything in trying it"

"Why are you so adamant about this?"

"You in or out?" He asked her avoiding the question. She stood up and walked to him.

"Promise me that you won't break me" She looked at him with fear and courage together.

"Promise" He pulled her one step towards him.

"Promise me you won't be the reason for me crying"

"Promise" He again pulled her close. With every promise, he reduced the distance between them.

"Promise me that you won't cheat on me ever in this life"

"Will prefer dying than cheating on you" He said wrapping his arm around her waist. She placed her hands on his chest to maintain the distance between them.

"But you also need to promise that you too won't cheat on me and you will give this one month a try from your heart" He asked looking into her eyes.

"I will, promise" She said it truthfully. Both of them left for the hall, hand in hand.

Nishtha saw Vikrant talking to Jaidev. She walked to them.

"What is a cheat like you doing here Jaidev Verma?" She asked with a fake smile. Vikrant looked at her angrily. He held her hand in his tight grip.

Jaidev looked embaressed so didn't reply anything.

"The door is that side, so you and your girlfriend can leave. And listen, don't ever show up on this threshold ever again. Today I am letting you walk out without an injury, next time I won't be peaceful, understood" She said taking a step towards him and pointed a finger. Vikrant tried pulling her back but she was strong enough not to be affected by it. After Jaidev left, Vikrant pulled Nishtha towards him harshly.

"Not here" Saying that, she moved her hand out of his grip and pulled him in a secluded corner.

"What the fuck was that behaviour?" He almost screamed at her.

"Listen mister, that man you were talking to, fucking cheated on my sister. You invited him here even after knowing that di and him are separated. You even had the audacity to ask di about him yesterday, are you crazy" She also screamed back at him.

"He is dad's guest. He forgot to un-invite him and as a good host, we need to welcome them"

"Not when he has cheated. Look I don't know your ideologies but according to mine if someone has cheated than he doesn't deserve to be respected. He chose to ignore the waterfall of love that was showered on him for someone who he's met for what, 3 months"  Saying that she left him to himself.
