"Mr. Smee, what are we going to do with this child?" A young man in a lab coat asked. "The child is premature to be our specimen."
"Then let's wait until he's mature enough."
"But Mr. Ratri's instruction..."
"No need to worry about him, that man is only throwing a tantrum," Smee replied with a cold sneer. "He is always like that since we were a child," Smee mumbled before glancing at baby Eliot who was sleeping.
"It seems like you're one of Mr. Ratri's closest friends, I'm kind of jealous," The young man mumbled before scratching his head.
Smee suddenly remembered the first time that he met Peter. He was 12 years old when James Ratri decided to adopt him and changed his name.
He met Peter who immediately befriended him, Peter seemed like a normal child who likes to play, cling with his brother, and study with Smee. But Smee knows how twisted Peter Ratri was ever since he was a child.
He thought that Peter would change if grows up, but this thought suddenly change when Smee received the news that Peter killed his own brother.
Peter Ratri came to Smee crying at that day.
'If brother James didn't refuse to cooperate with me, this will never happen.'
'What have you done?' Smee asked in terror. 'Where's James?'
Peter laughed as he shook his head. 'You aren't like Brother James, right?'
'Are you on my side, Smee? or should I call you---'
"You won't be if you knew," Smee replied to young scientist. "You are too naive."
"Pardon?"
"Nevermind, stay here and keep an eye on Eliot, if someone dared to get him or do something on him, tell them that this child is under my protection," Smee replied to him as he fixed his eyeglasses. "I'll go to conduct some interview with our test subject."
"Yes! Sir!"
Smee nodded his head as walked towards the door. As he walked to the corridors of the laboratory, many scientist greeted him but he decided to ignore them.
When Peter took place as the 36th headmaster of the clan, he placed him to Lambda 7214 as a scientist who works on experiments to create a higher quality of human livestock for the demons.
He hated this job, he hates what he's doing, and to amend for his own sins he decided to inherit James Ratri's will and he help some children to escape from this hell.
Smee stopped walking in front of a young man who had a bald hair, the scientist sat in front of that man as he crossed his legs. His cold appearance suddenly changed when he saw a chessboard on the table between them.
The young man clenched his fist as he trembled in front of Smee.
"Don't worry, we won't conduct a test on you today. I'm just here for an interview," Smee assured him.
The young man relaxed as he took a deep breath.
"What interview?" he asked.
"Actually, interview is just an excuse, I just wanted to play with you," Smee told him with a smile on his face. "It's been a while since I played chess with someone, would you like to play with me?"
"You're really different from the other adults in this place," The young man named Vincent, one of the test subjects in Lambda, commented on Smee. "Shall I arrange the chessboard?"
Smee raised his hand as he shook his head.
Vincent gave him a confused look as he placed both of his hand on his lap.
"Vincent, have you ever heard of Blind chess?" Smee questioned Vincent before leaning his body on the table. "I liked playing this game when I was a child, but not everyone can play this game with me."
Vincent's eyes suddenly went on Smee's neck when he saw something tattooed in it.
Smee showed that tattoo to him days ago when he asked him to cooperate with him. Vincent confirmed something when he saw the combination of numbers on Smee's neck.
A human from Gracefield Orphanage.
This man is also like me. We might be from the different orphanage but he was also an Orphan. Maybe this is the reason why he's different from other adults.
Maybe I can trust him.
Vincent thought.
"I know how to play it," Vincent told him with determined expression. "But I'll only play with you if you help me."
Smee let out a smile as he clasped both of his hand.
"Knight to c3," He only replied

Conny took a sigh of relief as she glanced on a bottle with golden water in her hands. Her eyes went to Lucas who is catching his breath from exhaustion. Both of them did their best to go back to their base after entering Minerva's door.
Conny and Lucas were both tensed when Conny alarm clock rung, indicating that Lerin would finally come to find Conny and fetch her. They immediately went inside Minerva's door to find out what's inside that door and left immediately after Conny collected the golden water.
Fortunately, it didn't seem that they are late because they didn't see Lerin yet in that area.
However, Conny wanted to curse herself when she realized that Lucas wasn't able to hear Minerva's message on the elevator. If they didn't went back to the base sooner, he'll be able to hear Minerva's message!
Conny clenched her fist in frustration.
"It's all Mr. Lerin's fault," She mumbled with a frown. "But it doesn't matter anymore as long as I collected what I need."
"Did something happened?" A voice asked them. "What's the matter?"
Conny raised her head and saw Oliver in front of her, the teenager bended on his knees as he glanced in Conny before glancing on Lucas.
"Huh?" Conny mumbled while staring at Oliver's face. "Eh.. UHM! NOTHING HAPPENED! I just need to go now because Mr. Lerin is already coming to fetch me, I need to go... I don't want to expose your base."
Men, why do you look like a Prince in that pose, Oliver?

Conny unconsciously covered his face as she turned around, her daydreaming face suddenly turned sour when her eyes went to Andrew who currently tied and lying to the ground.
"It was all good until I saw a pest," She mumbled as she crossed her arms.
"Conny don't you have to hurry now?" Lucas suddenly told her.
Although he is disappointed because he only had a brief look on Minerva's door, he understood that Conny needed to go now.
Lucas saw an elevator in that place and he wanted to investigate it, but he's not shrewed enough to steal the pen from Conny. The most important thing right now is he was now able to open the Minerva's door.
He just hope that Conny could come back here one more time.
When Conny saw the expression in Lucas' face, she immediately went to him as she raised her arms to grab in his clothes. Her other hand went on her pocket as she took out the Minerva's Pen.
"I'm going to let you borrow my Pen, but in one condition," Conny told him. "Let me borrow a cart."
"A cart?" Lucas asked.
"Why a cart?" Oliver mumbled.
Conny smiled as she glanced in Andrew's location.
"I'll be needing it for a gift," she mumbled with a grin.

When Lerin arrived in Conny's Location, his eyes went on a red cart that was beside on Conny while sitting on large stone. Lying in that red cart was a man named Andrew who seemed to be sleeping peacefully.
"You're truly amusing," Lerin told her before chuckling.
"No need to say that," Conny replied to him while shrugging her shoulders. "Can you push that cart for me?"
"Do it with care, I'm afraid Mr. Leuvis won't accept my offering if it's damaged."
With that statement, Lerin couldn't help but to laugh with a proud face.
Conny sneered while touching the bottle of Golden Water that she collected in that Golden pond. With this material she'll be able to talk with the God of Demons to create a new Promise with him in the new moon.
Conny doesn't know the price that 'He' will give to her with the condition of the promise, but if this could save the other children, she'll try to do it.
Tho it sounds impossible, maybe she could negotiate with the Demon God?
She suddenly remembered Emma, Norman, and Ray.
Conny didn't know if she'll be able to do it, but if she ever fails at least she knows that the three could survive.
"I'll just hope that I'll see them again, and if ever we meet each again, I hope Ray won't boink my head for being reckless."
