What once stood.
I remember. I remember when I was young, surrounded by the beautiful world.
I remember the fields and meadows. I remember the woods and the forests.
I remember the trees, the ones that belonged to the birds who have much simpler lives than the ones of humans.
I wish I could go back to when I was young, when there were no roads,
only trails left behind by people who were simply passing by.
But now it's different.
No longer do I hear the whistle of the wind in the trees or chirps of the cheerful birds nesting up above.
Once I was free surrounded by nature and greenery.
But now it's different.
Now I am lost, which is very clear to see.
Where once there were trees now stands huge smoke billowing factories.
Where once there was a small dirt path
Now metal beasts rush by and I am left here to take on their wrath.
Once I stood tall with my sharp pointy hat. Now I'm boarded up like some forgotten old shack.
