Days have passed and Pete can already feel weird with Khun. Khun No has been bugging him from time to time, asking him where he is.
"Have you heard of the gossip?" Khun asked as he lay comfortably on the couch.
Arm can only exhale with another series of gossip Khun has been telling them. It seems like Khun has lots of stories to share this time.
"What is it Khun?" Pete asked with interest as he feeds Venice with the milk.
"I just saw it on Twitter tho. You know, there is a lot of gossip on Twitter!" Khun happily said and fixed his sitting position.
"Khun No. How many hours do you spend on Twitter?" Pol asked and continue to take a bite of the cookies Pete brought for them.
"Just a few hours."
"Few?"
"Okay, twenty-four- seven." Khun surrendered. "Don't change the topic! There is a serious issue on Twitter!"
"It's not about Miss Universe, isn't it?" Pete asked to make sure.
Sometimes, Khun will introduce things seriously but later found out that it was just all flimflam.
"No. On Twitter, someone posted that he just lost his child."
With instinct and within the speed of light, Pete immediately hugs Venice.
"What kind of news is that?" Pete asked in surprise. That just made him nervous.
"Aw! Why are you overreacting?" Khun asked him. "As if Venice will leave, that baby cannot even walk."
"What happens to the baby?" Arm inquired seriously as they are all getting invested in the topic.
"Well..." Khun paused and look at the three of them. "The baby isn't found anymore."
"Shit!" Arm and Pol cursed but instantly covered their mouths, afraid that Venice will hear those bad words.
"What kind of story is that Khun No?" Pete questioned in annoyance.
He might not be a mother but he can already feel the sudden tension of the idea that someone lost their child. Good thing that he and Vegas adopted Venice and always provide good security.
"Don't be too nervous, Pete," Khun said seriously that making the three of them look at each other. The tone was just so serious as if he is assuring Pete not to be scared.
"Ow! The four idiots!" Porsche said as he enters the house of the Main Family.
He is followed by Kinn and Vegas who's assisting the drunk Tay.
"What happens to him?"
"Caught Time cheating on him." Kim appears behind and he was holding Porché's hands.
Kinn and Vegas were both struggling, they are all walking in a zigzag, not sure where they are heading.
"Cheating again?" Khun asked in disbelief.
Pete looks at the wasted Tae. His eyes are puffy, his nose where red, and he cannot even talk properly.
"Why are you even tolerating that kind of friend?" Khun then looks at Kinn. "If I were you, I will strangle him until his soul no longer want to be reincarnated."
Kinn just shakes his head. "As if I have control over their feelings."
Both Kinn and Vegas let Tae sit on the couch.
Pete then went almost to the corner. Tae is reeking with the scent of alcohol that might not be good for Venice to smell.
"That bastard! I wanna cut his dick!" Tae shouted.
Porché and Pete can only open their mouth, wide open what Tae has just said.
Tae was about to stand up but he was immediately stopped by the two who were assisting him.
"I pity him," Pol whispered to Pete and plays with the hands of Venice.
"It's his karma also," Arm whispered too. The three of them are just in the corner and whispering to each other. "He faces the consequences of what he tolerates."
When Tae was about to stand up again, he lost his balance and accidentally sat on Vegas' lap.
Pete almost forgot how to breathe normally when Tae wrapped his arms around Vegas' neck.
"You're handsome," Tae commented and smile.
"Damn!" Vegas cursed and pushed Tae which made the poor drunk guy slam on the sofa.
"Shit. Are you still alive?" Porsche asked Tae.
Vegas hurriedly went in Pete's direction. Arm and Pol just adjusted and went to Khun who was busy judging Tae's decision in life.
"Damn that bastard." Vegas cursed and hug Pete.
What Tae did just made Pete dumbfounded. He must admit, he got a little jealous of what happened. But seeing Vegas' action now, he felt relieved.
They didn't spend too much time with the Main Family. They let the rest of them handle the constant bantering between Kim and Khun. Porsche and Kinn also handle the drunk and broken-hearted Tae.
"Vegas. I will just check if I switched off the stove already." Pete said and handed Venice to Vegas.
"What?" Vegas looked up at him when he just finished wearing his pajamas.
"I'll be back. Just make sure that Venice will sleep, okay?"
Leaving Vegas and Venice is both a good and bad decision. Good because they will have time to spend together but also bad since Vegas will always complain.
Those two also like to exchange glares. Maybe it's in their genes to have a resting bitch face.
When Pete finally finished checking if all the switches were off, and no appliances are on without being used, he headed upstairs.
The door was slightly open so that he can see what the two has been doing.
Pete couldn't help but smile at the view. Vegas is sitting on the cold floor while Venice is still in his lap.
He's hot. Pete commented as he looks at Vegas. He is only wearing his pajamas and no shirt that shows his biceps and muscles as he moves.
Damn, I shouldn't be thinking about it.
"What car do you like?" He heard Vegas ask Venice.
On the floor, there is a lineup of small cars- a gift from Khun. However, Venice doesn't seem to be interested.
By looking at it, Venice isn't even playing. It was just Vegas who was pushing and pulling the toy cars. He will also get the stuffed toys inside the crib and will take a look at them.
Venice was still on his lap but is already sleepy. Vegas seems to enjoy playing with toy cars and stuffed toys.
He's cute tho. Pete said enjoying the view.
"Phi Pete."
"Damn, you scared me." Pete cursed and look at Macau.
"Why don't you enter the room?"
Pete placed his index finger on his lips, giving Macau a signal not to talk. They also start walking as they are having conversations.
"Vegas seems to enjoy the toys, Venice has." Pete happily told Macau.
It was a different side of Vegas. Vegas will say to him that he doesn't want to play with it and that it's only for a kid. But what just Pete has seen, he is having fun.
"Because Phi Vegas didn't experience it, Phi Pete," Macau told him.
Pete stopped taking a step forward and stare at Macau. "What do you mean?"
Macau avoided his gaze. "You know that Phi Vegas doesn't have a fun childhood. He didn't experience playing with toys or being with friends."
How come it didn't enter Pete's mind?
Vegas grew up under pressure he never finds enjoyment in the things he does. If he will do it, it is because he is obliged and not because he wants it.
"Phi Vegas lets me play with friends and buy me toys. But you know it, Phi, he didn't experience enjoying those things when he was a kid."
As an older brother, Vegas didn't want Macau to miss his childhood. He makes sure that Macau will behave like a kid and didn't pass any responsibilities to his younger brother.
"Maybe that's the reason why he is playing with the toys. I'll have to finish my assignments Phi. Goodnight!" Macau said and went back to his room.
That's right. No matter how healed Vegas is in the present, his inner child is still suffering.
Pete bit his lips trying to think of what he should do.
Maybe it's time to heal Vegas' inner child.
