Shivani's pov:
It's 9.00am and 'rajiv' (my brother), dad and i were having breakfast and my mom was serving us.
" Me and your masi are going for shopping today, want to join us?" My mom asked me while serving me poha.
"No, I'm going out with my friends." I replied, seriously shopping is not my forte. I don't know why girls love shopping so much and here i get confused over everything i see, they seems perfect at the store but at home i don't like them. So i let my mom shop everything for me. I love her choices. One of them is my dad.
"Friends? Plural, you know right that a single person is called as a friend not friends." My brother joked.
"I know when we should use singular or plural, you idiot." I replied bitterly.
"Language shivani, you cannot call your brother idiot." My mom scolded me.
"Then ask him to buy some brain." I replied and glared at rajiv. And he just laughed it off.
"So where are you going with your friends?" This time my dad asked me.
"Dad, i don't know, aditi said she'll pick me up at 3.00pm today. And don't ask like it is impossible for me to have more than one friend." I replied.
"Come home before 6.00pm." my mom said.
'i don't even want to go.' i muttered to myself.
"Okay, mom." I said. Then my dad started to ask my brother about his volleyball match, which is in the last weak of this month. I silently ate my poha. After we finished our breakfast, my mom took our plates and went to kitchen then my father slid something to my side. I looked up at him then at what he slid. It were two notes of Rs.2000.
"Don't tell your mom. Enjoy your dayout." He said and kissed me on my forehead.
"Thank you, dad. I love you." I replied and hugged him. What? I'm only 14 so i totally depend on my dad's money, my mom gives us money only when it's necessary like stationery and all, and according to her 'roaming with friends, spending money in cafes' is not a necessity. My father left to police station, he is the 'Deputy supredent of police'.

"Shivani, hurry up!" Aditi shouted.
"Coming." I answered, took my phone from charging and left.
"Finally, i thought you changed your mind." She said. She was sitting at the back of her cousin's activa.
"Shut up!" I rolled my eyes irritatingly and then i stopped and thought 'how i'll go if she is sitting on her cousin's activa' so i asked her "and tell me where and how are we going?" All this time i could feel her cousin staring at me. 'God it's so irritating, i hope he won't ruin my day. Please God.' i pleaded internally.
"Oh yeah, i forget to introduce you to my friend 'Rahul'." She said pointing at a boy, who was on his bike. Then she introduced us. "You'll go with him." She said. ' I'll go with a stranger.' i thought, but decided to go with him because my other option was her cousin.
"Navya? Isn't she coming?" I asked to aditi.
"She'll meet us at cafe." She replied. Then i sat on Rahul's bike and glanced at aditi's cousin 'rishi' he muttered something under his breath and started his activa. Rahul started his bike too and took off to 'i don't know where'.

We reached at cafe about fifteen minutes ago and now we were discussing about the order. And by we means aditi, navya and rahul. Rishi was silent and maybe a little nervous too about something, i don't know the reason but his nervousness was clear, which was a little weird as he's always talking or should i say flirting. To avoid the awkwardness i focused on Aditi and her friends and decided to start a talk. " How do you know Rahul bhaiya? He is our senior and I've never seen him talking to anyone at school." I asked Aditi avoiding the smile crept on Rishi's face because i called Rahul as bhaiya (brother).
"He's my neighbour and an introvert like you, so i decided to do him a favor by becoming his friend and we've been friends since he moved to my colony which was 3 years ago." She replied. I nodded. The order came, we ate and talked about normal stuff like who's in relationship, who is single. Which reminds me of aditi's boyfriend.
"Aditi, what happened to satwik, why didn't he come." I asked.
"Umm, we fought." She replied. As if she didn't care at all, but the way they fight every other day she must be habitual to it.
"Okay!" I said.All this time Rishi didn't say a word and i felt like something is going to be really bad.

"Umm, shivani, can we talk?" I heard Rishi's voice behind me, while i was standing outside of cafe talking to rahul and aditi. Navya left a minute ago. I turned around and saw him standing in front of me beating his foot on the ground. Was he nervous? But why? I didn't want to know because i didn't want to reject him if he proposed me and i don't like him so I can't accept his proposal either, that would be a difficult situation.
"Sorry, I'm getting late. It's 5.45 and i have to reach home before 6.00." I made an excuse. I saw aditi and asked for her help.
"No brother, she'll get late, You can talk later." She glared at him and mouthed something which i didn't understand. " Rahul please drop her to her house." She requested Rahul.
"No, please shivani, you know i don't get opportunity to talk to you. You study in different school and you don't even come to aditi's house anymore, I Don't know why?" He requested. And i noticed a tensed expression on his face."Just for 2 minutes. Please." He pleaded this time. I sighed and agreed.
"Okay." I said and he relaxed a bit.
"There is an ice-cream parlour maybe we should eat and talk." He said with a smiling face.
"Okay, but i don't want ice-cream. And you have only 2 minutes so get to the point." I said and he nodded, we left to the ice-cream parlour which was on the other side of the road.
We reached the parlour but he didn't order anything we just stood there. " So.. umm, i was saying, would you like to be my girlfriend? I love you shivani ever since i saw you at my sister's birthday party, i tried really hard to get you out of my head but I can't. I know I'm two years older than you and i go to different school and we've not talked much before, but i love you and i love everything about you, please give me a chance. I promise I'll never break your heart." He said all this while looking into my eyes. My mind stopped working i didn't know what should i do. I couldn't gather words to not make this bad. So I'd did what I thought was the best option. I left, i just left from there without thinking about anything. I saw an auto was standing on the road so i sat inside it and asked the driver to leave. I just wanted to leave that place as soon as possible. I didn't even think about my friend aditi and Rahul bhaiya.

I reached home on time and went straight to my room. I dropped myself on my bed and thought about the proposal over and over again. After one hour i refreshed myself and went to living room where my mom and masi were showing what they bought to the boys and they just nodded and continued their discussion on the topic ' i don't know'.
"Shivani, look i bought you a dress." Pooja masi said and handed me a box. I opened the box and there was a beautiful purple coloured gown. It was very beautiful.
"Thank you masi." I thanked her.
"Come on try it." She said.
"Now?" I asked. I liked it but trying it in front of my crush. Even the thought of it embarassed me.
" Yes now, go and wear it then show to us." She ordered me. I hesitantly went to my room and wore the gown . I didn't know, how it was looking on me. I never had the confidence of wearing something new. I was very much okay with my beggers look. I came back to living room. All eyes were on me. Even ransh was looking at me, maybe surprised.
"Wowww, you're looking beautiful." My mom said and hugged me" My princess." She said. And kissed my forehead.
"I've never seen something like that on you before. This color suits you." Ransh complement me. 'oh my God, did he just complemented me?, me??' i was on cloud nine. I blushed.
"Thank you" i replied to both, him and mom.
"You're looking great my doll." This time my brother said. I smiled and mouthed him a thank you. 'uff, enough of this complement. I can't take it anymore.' I thought. And went back to my room to change. After changing my clothes i came down, my father and uncle also returned from their respective jobs and we had dinner then masi, uncle and ransh went to their home, which was in the colony next to my colony. I went to sleeping, and thought about everything thing that happened today, how am i going to face aditi tomorrow afterall i rejected her brother, oh no no i didn't even reject him, i left him standing there. But again my thought went to ransh's complement and i drifted to sleep with a blushing face.
