"You have how many cats?"
"Four." Rosemary smiled at Vivian, the two girls wondering through the mall in hopes to find a dress for the girl invited to a formal party, "Edith, Stitch, Toffee and Willow."
"All girls?" Vivian replied in confusion.
"Stitch and Toffee are boys." Rosemary said, "they are my children and I adore them with my entire heart, I don't know what I'd do without them."
"Don't like dogs?" She asked, "I'm more of a dog person."
"I'm allergic to dogs." She said through a small laugh as Vivian's smile fell, "it worked out well that I prefer cats."
"I'm much more of a dog person." Vivian smiled, "cats are pretty cute though."
"Dogs are also pretty cute." Rosemary nodded as Vivian let out a small sigh, glancing around the store at the different clothes on display.
"So... you're dating Corbyn." Vivian smiled as she turned to the girl looking at the variety of dresses, "is the sex good?"
"What?!" Rosemary shot her head towards the girl with her eyes widened, "the sex? We haven't had sex."
"How long have you been together?"
"Two months." She shrugged, "he always jokes about that and says because it's not on my calendar we can't do it, it's kind of funny."
"Okay." Vivian frowned, "but you've kissed, right?"
"..yeah." Rosemary nodded, "of course."
"Personally, I hook up with the person way before I consider dating them." Vivian explained as she followed the girl around the store, "then I know the sex is good. What if Corbyn sucks at that?"
"Viv," the girl rolled her eyes playfully while she looked at her, "I haven't even thought about sex with Corbyn."
"Every couple does it." She shrugged, "it's good for balance in a relationship, that's what I always get told."
"It is good for balance but we've been friends for years before this so i'm sure a few months into dating without sex won't be much of an issue." She explained while starting at a dress on one of the mannequins as Vivian slowly nodded.
"Are you sexually attracted to him?" She asked.
"...Yes." Rosemary lied through a small forced smile.
"Are you still a virgin?"
"No." She laughed, "Vivian I-"
"...Who the hell have you had sex with?"
"My ex boyfriend." Rosemary turned towards her while Vivian frowned in confusion, "Theo."
"Oh." Vivian raised her eyebrows, "really? Why'd you break up?"
"He lost feelings," Rosemary shrugged, "nothing too bad. Also, can I give someone your number?"
"Who?"
"Zach." She gave her a smile as Vivian paused, "the one who said he liked your hair at that party."
"The guy who said my hair is a nice shade of red as an alternative way of saying ginger? Yeah he was cool." She nodded, "he can have my number."
"He called you hot."
"He's hot." Vivian let out a sigh while she smiled, "but yes give him my number, are you going to try on any dresses yet?"
"I haven't found the perfect one." She shook her head, "and i'm a bit stuck considering it's a colour scheme I don't own anything of."
"...Darker colours?" Vivian tilted her head as she received a nod from Rosemary, "what's it for?"
"A formal party." Rosemary shrugged, "Corbyn said black, dark green or navy so it can match with his tie."
"This is difficult because you don't wear dark colours," she sighed, "do you wear black clothes?"
"Sometimes." The girl nodded as Vivian pulled a dress from one of the clothing racks and held it in front of the girl, "...I said formal wear, they'd throw me out if I wore something that explicit."
"You want long dresses?" Vivian asked.
"Yes.. formal wear."
"Oh, okay okay." She quickly nodded, continuing on with her search of dresses as Rosemary followed behind her, "have you ever been stopped in public by one of his fans?"
"A couple times." Rosemary explained, "but it's usually when i'm with him, if I'm by myself I'll get a wave or smile but no one stops me."
"Does that bother you? That you get stopped?"
"No," she shook her head and smiled, "it's fun, you get to see all these girls who are so happy that they're meeting someone they look up to."
"What if the girls want him to kiss their cheek for a photo?" Vivian looked at her with a frown.
Rosemary shrugged, "it'll make the girl's day."
"...I'd get jealous." She said through a laugh.
"You get used to it," Rosemary shook her head, watching Vivian continue to look through the dresses before she sighed and turned to the girl.
"We need to find a new store, nothing in here screams Rosemary." Vivian frowned, grabbing ahold of her friend's hand before she was gently pulled out of the store and down towards the next one, "where do you usually buy your dresses from?"
"Thrifting, little independent stores, I don't usually buy from a lot of big companies but I kind of need to for this type of dress," she explained while shrugging, "so I don't know what store is best to buy one from."
Vivian came to a stop with her walk as she turned around to face Rosemary, her head tilted and eyebrows furrowed while the girl opposite her glanced around.
"...you're so cool." She spoke up, "are you still friends with many people from high school?"
"Just a handful, why?"
"Because they'd be so jealous of you."
"Viv." Rosemary playfully rolled her eyes as a smile grew on her face, "no they wouldn't."
"I mean sure at the time we graduated Corbyn was not the most attractive guy in the world but he's had a major glow up." She raised her eyebrows, "you date a fucking rockstar, Rosy."
"Rockstar is a little over the top." She smiled at Vivian, "he sings."
"You've got your own business, you shop at little independent places, you're so cool. Even I'm in love with you."
"I'm flattered, Vivian." Rosemary raised her eyebrows while laughing slightly, "but I just have a few different values to everyone else, I'm sure some people would think I'm weird for not shopping at big stores."
"You're so cool," Vivian mumbled and shook her head, continuing on with her walk through the mall as Rosemary followed behind, "I also think I know a good store to get you that dress."
"I'm open to all ideas."
"It's a dark green dress, flows out a little below the waist and it's tight at the top," she explained, "I saw it a couple weeks ago on the store's instagram so you'll have to try it on."
"Okay." Rosemary gave her a small smile while they headed down towards the store Vivian had been recommending.
