i still remember the first day i met you at the hoover dam. you looked nonplussed, scrambling around the place. i couldn't help but laugh at you. even now, i still admire you. your bravery; your loyalty.
but i can't describe how much this hurts. how many times have you lied to me? the lies all hurt. they're like thorns, they stick in my skin, but i can't find them because they're too thin. too small. i can't see them. i can't pick them out.
so they sting. they prick and bother me everyday. i have so many. i feel them everywhere. but they've never bothered me too much. i go on with my day, no matter how hard it hurts.
it hurts to admit my mistakes, but it's inevitable. i want this to be given to my sister, drew, when she's ready.
