"Okay, class. Don't forget to complete the assignments. See you tomorrow"

The class groaned in distaste at the words of professor Lee, the thoughts of assignments giving them a headache as they closed the books and stood up for the next class. A tap on his shoulder bought him back to reality, droopy eyes opened slowly while his head raised to scan the surroundings.

"Let's go..."

Stretching his hands, and rubbing his face to decipher what was going on around him, he looked up at the man who held his shoulder softly. It's been a tiring day, at least he got enough sleep in between classes. Standing up from the seat and pulling the backpack on his shoulder, they both walked outside of the class.

The students were chitchatting, some eating snacks, some fighting, and some walking to the next classes in silence. A typical uni working day with jam-packed schedules and tiring lectures. He wanted to avoid everything chiming in his head, his whole body aching but still, he dragged himself through the corridor, passing a small smile to those who smiled at him.

"How have you been?"

The one next to him asked, softly ruffling his freshly dyed purple hair. The gesture was something that held the power to comfort him, the warmth coming from the side of the elder was putting him in utmost solace. The exhaustion came to leave him soon as they walked past the students and reached the rooftop. The space was empty and as soon as they stepped in, the fresh air embraced them, a smile plastering on their lips.

"Good. Just a little tired..."

He replied while taking a seat on the abandoned old stone bench there, taking deep inhales from time to time. The view in front of them was worth admiring. It was like a simple painting. The blue sky with minimal clouds here and there, the top of skyscrapers away from them peaking to the canvas. It was nice. No complex colors, no inner meanings, no ellipsis.

"I thought you'll never... " -The elder whispered, words trailed off because he didn't know if he should complete it. The scars of wounds on the younger are still there, like a trace, already blended with his skin as if they belonged there. He didn't want to tear them open again.

"I wanted that too...

Anyways...
How have you been, hyung?"

They were happy the topic changed fast. They were happy that the chapter closed like that. With a knowing smile, Yoongi replied.

"Working on my new song. You wanna join?"

The smile on the younger's lips widened, showing off his bunny teeth, the galaxy eyes were sparkling, there was happiness written all over his face and Yoongi felt grateful to music for making his friend delighted. He replied with a smile.

"Okay, let's go after class."

The purple-haired boy nodded with a grin.

"Ugh, it's been a while since I went to your studio. Ah, so excited"

He said and they both agreed. Being music majors have that one thing as a plus point, he gets to visit Yoongi's studio now and then, the elder helps him learn about new genres and artists. And, besides all of this, Yoongi is a good friend. Yoongi is his only friend.

It's not like he's antisocial. He does have connections with photography and dance classes friends. But he's more open to Yoongi for some solid reasons. The silence was bearable. Pleasant for their unsettled minds to relax a bit and then Yoongi stood up. They skipped some classes already and it was almost time to go back or they'll be in trouble. As they walked out of the rooftop, the wild gossiping and laughter filled in their ears, the corridor was again packed to their dismay.

"Ah, Jungkook-ah. My piano snippet got selected for the artfest this year."

Yoongi said while walking, and Jungkook paused on his track. He did miss a lot of things, didn't he? With a huge grin on his face, he hugged Yoongi despite the elder's "Hajimaa..." that chimed in his ears. Jungkook knows how much Yoongi worked hard to make that artwork a perfect melody, he knows how much Yoongi put his efforts to create a piece of music like that. He had heard of it. And he knows. Better than anyone. He knows that the music of Yoongi should be awarded. He was more than just happy to know Yoongi got selected.

"Hyung... That's so... Deserved. I'm so happy for you. Can we go and celebrate this?"

Jungkook held Yoongi's hands in the middle of the corridor, his doe eyes settled on Yoongi's kitten-like eyes and the elder didn't find words. He nodded, whispering a yeah. Of course, Yoongi will never say no to drinks. Especially when it's with Jungkook, they get to do whatever they want because the best friends know each other very well. Jungkook cheered with a charming smile as they walked again to meet someone.

"I've to give this file to the student council. They wanted to know if there's any theme behind my work so that they can match it with their choreo."

Shuffling inside his backpack, and pulling the pen drive out, Yoongi said. Jungkook examined the black pen drive and then gave it back to Yoongi.

"Hyung, it's gonna be a bombastic performance. Wah! I can't wait to watch you perform the piano on stage."

"Please don't. It's making me nervous."

They passed the crowds and reached an empty corridor that led straight to the conference room, restroom, infirmary, and student council office. The corridor used to be like this, quiet and peaceful because no students other than the council members pass through the aisle. Jungkook and Yoongi slowed down their steps, careful to not break the silence of the corridor with the loud sound of their heels and talks.

"There's nothing to be nervous about in this, hyung. You'll be the star of the night"

Jungkook whispered and Yoongi passed a groan. He's not really liking the idea of being the center of attention.

"I don't want to... There will be people there, around me, and God..."

Yoongi pulled his hair. He wanted to disappear from there because he doesn't feel like performing in front of a crowd. But Jungkook held his shoulders softly and said in a smooth voice.

"It will be fine, hyung. I'll help you."

They both passed knowing smiles to each other and walked silently, dreaming about the artfest that was months far from them, still, they couldn't help but feel joyous. Finally, they'll get a little break from all the studies and stressful exams. Glancing at the watch on his wrist and humming to a low tone, they both sauntered towards the student council room.

~ 🍂 ~

"Alright, gays. We're short of volunteers for the artfest, the dance team is already going wild, and the council needs new members since both Lee Jonghyun and Kai left the uni. It's time for us to go hunting and you all are---"

Hoseok stopped his words, as soon as his eyes landed on the student council, yawning and not listening to his speech. He threw a pencil at his friends, except for Namjoon who was listening to his words. The case was serious. Artfest was near. Not near, but still. There will be students from other unis to watch them, the competitions are already hyped up around the universities participating, pressure on their heads were only intensifying and SNU was still playing Mario Kart?

"Kim Taehyung! Kim Seokjin and Park Jimin. What's going on there? Care to share it with the class?"

Hoseok called out and the Kims and Park shuddered at the scream. Jin and Jimin threw their phones on the table, while Taehyung was looking aimlessly at the two playing on their phones, now laid on the table, glancing at Hoseok. The three passed a look at the man and whispered a small 'nothing'. It was when Namjoon stood up, taking over Hoseok, calming the man by patting his shoulder, then the tension lingered in the room relieved a little.  Hoseok took a seat next to Jin and passed a wide grin to Taehyung and Nayeon sitting opposite him.

The student council was gathered to discuss lots of things, most of it was just an excuse to skip the classes but still, they were loaded with work. Around the table, the members and representatives sat patiently and waited for president Namjoon to suggest the plan. Taking a quick glance at the curious people around him, Namjoon crossed his arms around his chest and said.

"Alright. Now, let's talk seriously.

What Hoseok said is no joke. We all know the competitions this year are tough. So, we have to find a solution soon and should start practicing too.

We don't want to fail in front of anyone, right?"

The council members nodded. Only Namjoon can do this. It's not like members don't listen to others speaking, but they only get to know the seriousness of the situation only when Namjoon spells it out for them in his deepest and most dominating voice. A voice that can run shivers to their spines, that's why the council listened to him carefully, ready to jot down the important points on their notepad.

"Now, as Hobi said, we want more volunteers for Artfest, including the control room and guest management. We need to let the students know about the situation and will choose those who are interested in this."

"Young-Jae and I can work on it" -Chanyeol said for which Namjoon nodded and glanced at the one laying next to them, head resting on the table and looking outside of the window.

"Secretary Kim?"

Namjoon called out and the room broke into big laughter, only for Taehyung to look at the elder with a pout. He sat up rather uninterested and replied.

"Yes~ President Kim"

"You'll be in charge of volunteers and their work along with the dance and music departments. You can pick someone as your assistant but I need no mistakes from your side."

With a stern look, Namjoon paused, glimpsed at a grumpy Taehyung who whined softly. He was already stuffed with work and Namjoon wasn't helping him, only giving more and Taehyung tried his best to find an escape from that. Nevertheless, Namjoon had a hold on him and Taehyung couldn't find another way other than agreeing.

"I'll help you, Tae"

It was Moonbyul who said, patting Taehyung's shoulder and he replied with a soft "Thank you, noona" to the elder.

"Now, what about the dancers Hoseok? Our dance team was already fixed, right?"

Namjoon asked, the puzzled looks on the people around intensified, everything went silent for a moment. Then Hoseok replied.

"It's our lead dancers. Not coming to practice and throwing tantrums."

The room knows about whom Hoseok was talking. All eyes landed on a certain someone and the president called out the name on behalf of everyone.

"Jimin?!"

"I'm on hiatus."

"Bi*ch, you're on what?"

Taehyung screamed out of his lungs, and couldn't decipher what his best friend just said. His expression said the betrayal of the century and Jimin couldn't help but freak out. He was doing it all for fun and for not being loaded with work. When he found everyone working hard, Jimin felt it was good to throw some games at Hoseok, their dance leader, to escape from the workload and now, clearly, the plan backfired.

"You're on a fake hiatus while I'm prosperous with work, wow. Can't believe you did this to me, Park Jimin. Best friend card---"

"Okay okay, no need to go on with the full name basis, I'm back from my hiatus, hyung. Give me some---"

Jimin couldn't complete his sentence when someone knocked on their door, making everyone correct their posture and glance at Namjoon. The president looked equally puzzled but walked towards the door to open. In front of him stood two males, before Namjoon could ask anything, the room tilted their heads in very subtle ways to see who they were. By the angle Jimin leaned in he could only find a side profile of someone and the bright purple hair of another man who he knows. Oh, wait.

"Tae, that's---"

"I'm here to give my work to the Council Secretary. He asked me to submit it today."

The room stared at the males in the doorway. But something else happened when Jimin tried to say who it was. He couldn't figure out what Taehyung was trying to do, but he was told to play along whenever his soulmate senses tingles, or precisely whenever his best friend squeezes and pinches his hands under the table.

Jimin knows what's going on, while trying to suppress the laugh at his best friend's behavior, he concentrated on the male talking in a perfect pitch, showing Namjoon a pen drive. He couldn't see the face because of the door and only his hands were in the frame for him to spot. The one next to the unknown man was easy for Jimin to catch. Oh, the description running inside his head like a daydream, thanks to Taehyung and his late-night ramblings.

"Can I see him?"

The man who stood in front of Namjoon asked in a soft voice and glanced around the room, to spot the familiar face. To his disappointment, he couldn't find the one but heard a voice from the corner seat of the table.

"Secretary Kim is under---"

The blue-haired male who grabbed the attention was Choi Yeonjun, and the people around him suppressed their laughs after trying so hard. Hoseok looked at his junior with a pleading expression.

"Ugh, he meant Secretary Kim is on the underground."

Jimin tried to change the topic but ended up getting a dumbfounded glare from the man. He glared back, subtly looking at the purple-haired male too. Ugh, he didn't sign up for this. Because he knew, once they leave and Jimin and Taehyung will reach the dorm, his best friend is gonna slam him on the wall, make him spell out everything he had scrutinized about the purple-haired male in that meantime when Taehyung was under the table; hiding

So, just like that, Jimin let his eyes wander from the smooth purple locks to the doe eyes, tattooed arms, the Balenciaga jacket, and timberlands took a mental note to not get involved with third-wheeling anymore. Little did he know what was coming his way, especially when Jung Hoseok's words boomed in the air.

"Hey, Jungkookie... You're back! How's your health? Heard you had a fever..."

Jimin pressed his lips together, Jin clutched the notepad in his hand to cover his laugh, Namjoon looked down mesmerized by the floor, Yeonjun the only student council member who knows things other than Jimin, Jin, Namjoon, and Hoseok, coughed lightly, nudging the dance leader. Jimin scribbled something on the paper and shoved it under the table for Taehyung to read.

"Stop acting like a teenage girl, bi*ch"

He mouthed a come out to Taehyung who was crouched down very weirdly and looking at him with his puppy eyes. Jimin wanted to throw himself away. God, why him. Nevertheless, he gave Taehyung a pen to scribble on the paper when the other refused to talk.

"Stop Hobi from flirting with him"

Taehyung's handwriting wasn't clear but Jimin and Jin read beyond the messy writing. They pressed their lips together to not burst out in big giggles, then heard the purple-haired man speaking. The deep voice resonated in the room and Jimin glanced at Taehyung who had a hand on his heart, eyes dramatically closing, the best friend couldn't help but kick Taehyung under the table for this stupefying act.

Well, stupefying for them and Jimin. But for Taehyung, the mere words gave an explosion of butterflies, wild beatings of the heart that he couldn't control, and the adrenaline rush. It was like he was finally saved from a disastrous drought. He survived because of the rain that poured over him and his thirsty soul.

"Hey Hobi hyung... Nice to meet you. And... yeah. I'm fine, see you at the practice later."

Jungkook said in a honey-dripping sweet voice, the tone was stern, yet it was full of warmth and comfort towards Hoseok. They both passed smiles. Jimin scribbled at his paper again, some random lines this time while mumbling

"How come I never saw him before?"

Hoseok replied to him in a rather bitter yet humorous tone.

"Come do a visit on the practice times, Jiminie. He has been there for every practice and You were always on hiatus, lazy ass"

The council let out giggles while Jimin laughed it off with them, glaring at Hoseok. He could see Taehyung having fun under the table so he shoved the old scribbled papers into his mouth for which Taehyung bit his fingers. Crackheads. Jin laughed while enjoying the drama. Namjoon cleared his throat and smiled at Yoongi then said.

"Ah, you can give the pen drive to me. I'll give it to Ta-- Secretary Kim."

Yoongi nodded while handing over the pen drive, Jungkook waved at Hoseok. Both Jungkook and Yoongi took one last glance, smiling at Namjoon, and they walked away. The president sat on his seat, coughing softly to grab the attention.

"Secretary Kim? What are you planning?"

He asked and waited for Taehyung to come out from under the table. Namjoon had his arms crossed around his chest, Taehyung scratched the back of his neck, and his long puppy eyes pleaded to Namjoon to not expose him in front of the students. The elder inhaled softly and gave Taehyung the pen drive. He sat in his seat in silence, and the meeting continued.

This time everything was different. The aura, the colors, the opinions, and suggestions from Taehyung, felt like everything was in the right place, and it didn't even take a lot of time in figuring out what went wrong. Taehyung had his sparkling eyes concentrating on every detail they shared and sharp points ready to help the team.

Even the room was fascinated by the change in the younger, but his friends knew. It's the cologne that hit him, the sleep-deprived days, and thirsty eyes, they all are fulfilled just by the name and that deep voice from afar.

The meeting went smoothly and they left for their respective classes after bidding byes. Taehyung paused for a moment, leaning back on his chair to cover his face in his palms. There was only one thing going on in his head. Taehyung believed that one thought can make him weak on his knees, his heart beating faster than normal, and the wild sensation was filling in his nerves.

The thought of what happened today. Taehyung smiled softly at his thoughts, just like Jimin mentioned earlier- he may be behaving like a teenage girl. He can't help but be like that, be happy about that newly settled feeling in him.

Kookie is here.

It chanted inside him more intensively than ever.

Finally, Jeon Jungkook is here

Back where he belongs.
