I've had a lot of discussion recently about some of the vampires who aren't as developed, or even, "thrown away by Raven," as one person put it.

I'm going to give some reasons why characters like Dune, aren't shown or developed as much.

1. I've had more time for Raven bonding with the vampires she didn't get along with, such as Cross and River, because she already had a 'good' relationship with the others. So the others seem less important, but it's just that they were on better terms with Raven.

2. It was my choice, but their are a lot of characters, and I spent a long like on Nicholas, because he's my stern caring vampire. And I've been trying my best to work more with the less shown vampires, like Fin, so give me a break.

3. This is wattpad, not some fancy publishing agency, I can be sloppy and not perfect. If you're that bothered, write a better book than me, I fucking dare you.

ANYWAYS! Love you guys, I'm not trying to attack anyone, I appreciate some of you trying to help me, I really do. At a certain point it's hurtful though, remember that!

With that, here's a long chapter!!

Ten years ago, six months after Raven moved in with the five vampires.

Dune's pov (flashback of sorts,)

"Stop, just stop," River shouted as Cross tackled Fin down the stairs. I gazed at him, noting the obvious exhaustion.

My gaze drifted to Raven, we didn't know her age, but she looked six and acted sixteen. She was sitting on the floor by the front door, arms crossed and frowning, lips pouted.

She was a brat, a complete utter brat, but I had a soft spot for the girl, or at least a growing one. Raven didn't like to talk to anyone, but I knew she had bad day at school.

She still had her shoes and backpack on, and hasn't moved from her spot. Probably because she was still terrified of Cross and Lion.

She kept wiping her nose on her sleeve, like she had a snotty nose or something, my suspicion was that she had been crying not too long ago.

"Hey, Raven," I walked over slowly and her eyes went wide as I advanced towards her. She looked away with a huff, hair flipping to the side.

"I'm not doing my homework, no, no, no," she shook her head wildly and paused. "I don't like brown," she touched her hair and stumbled to her feet, gesturing me down.

I kneeled beside her on the floor, eyes widening when she lifted her hair and bent her head, showing it to me. "I don't like brown, it's ugly,"

I felt my lips lift into a smile. She was too cute for her own good, when she wasn't trying to act like a bitchy teenager. "I like brown,"

She shook her head and pointed out the window. "Look, those are ravens, and they aren't brown, I want to be black too," she climbed into my lap and touched my cheek with her small hand. "Can you make my hair black?"

She tried her best to give me a cute smile, making her big green eyes go wide. Trying to manipulate me at such a young age...

"I don't know," I gazed at her. "You were born with brown hair,"

Her small arms crossed over her chest. "You weren't born a vampire, were you?"

My brows raised. "How do you know?"

Her lips lifted into a cheeky smile. "Fin told me, in the library, he made me leave though," her smile fell. "I colored in one of his favorite books,"

It was hard not to laugh around Raven, she hadn't been here long, but she did something to me. "I like your brown," I said again, and I did. People said Brown hair was boring, but I disagreed.

Her hand fell of my cheek and she let a pouty sigh leave her lips. "Please?"

I stood and placed the young girl on my hips, making her squeal and grab at me with small hands. "River, I'll be back, I'm taking the monster out for a bit,"  I called and winked, making Raven cover her mouth with her hands, eyes sparkling.

That was the first time she ever asked for anything. And first time I ever wanted to try for a true 'family' relationship since I became a vampire. Raven smiled the rest of that day, despite River's horror, and that was enough for me.

Fin's pov, three years after Raven's arrival. (Raven is eleven,)

"What do you mean she's gone?" Dune demanded as Cross shrugged.

"We went shopping, like River demanded, and she ran off," a surge of panic went through me as Dune exploded in anger.

"She ran off because you were being a dick, weren't you?" Dune shouted and paused when I waved to get his attention.

"I think I know where she is," I said and turned towards the front door. Dune's brow furrowed before he went back to yelling at Cross, trusting me to follow through with my words.

With my vampiric speed and assumed knowledge of her location, I stepped into the graveyard and paused, seeing the black haired teen.

She was sitting beside a small gray stone, talking under her breath, body shaking in the cold. "Raven," I called and paused when she looked over and glared at me.

"How come you found me so quick?" Her eyes were hateful. I shrugged and walked over despite her harsh glaring.

"You've been talking about wanting to visit Missy's grave for a while,"

She clenched her hands into fists, pushing them into her lap. "Didn't think anyone heard me,"

I sat down beside her and looked at the grave solemnly. "Just because we don't take you, doesn't me we don't hear. And I'm sorry," I met her eyes and she bit her lip. "I should have made sure you knew I heard,"

She blinked hard and crossed her arms, shaking harder. "Yeah well... I came myself, so it doesn't matter,"

I reached out, brushing dust from the cold stone. "I never met Missy, tell me about her?" I pulled my  hand back and paused when Raven burst into tears.

"I never got to say goodbye, Fin, she probably hates me as much as everyone else in this stupid world. Everyone hates me," she shook her head and sniffed. "Do you..."

"I don't hate you Raven," I touched her cold hands and shook my head.

She tried to smile, but it turned into more of a grimace. "You should, hate me, I'm mean," she said in a matter-of-fact tone.

I leaned back on my hands and looked at the stars. "Did you know you have five percent of the worlds vampires as roommates?"

Her lips fell open. "Five whole percent?" She blushed and gazed at me shyly. "Is that a lot?"

I nodded and grabbed her fingers as she held up five. "Yes, you live with five us, so, roughly, how many percent is left as vampires?"

She scowled. "I don't like math - oh! Duh, ninety five, so there's only one hundred in the whole world?!" She exclaimed and looked at my hand on hers, messing with my fingers. "Do you know them all?!"

I shook my head and laughed. "With that few, I almost have to know them all, even if I would prefer not too."

Raven looked down and smiled softly. "The stars, do you know their names?"

I nodded and fell back onto the ground, Raven following my example. I paused as she leaned up on my chest, gazing at the sky with sparkling eyes.

She's definitely going to be the end of me when she's older,

"Alright, do you see the ones by the-"

"Fin!" Raven shrieked. "That one looks like like a polar bear!"

Dune's pov

(Raven age fourteen)

"Ugh, I hate you!" Raven yelled after River as he went to work. River didn't make a comment or turn back, simply walking out the front door.

I set my cup down as she began stomping past the dining room. "That wasn't very nice," I commented and paused as she glared at me.

"Neither is him acting like an ass," Raven said and fell into a wooden dining chair beside me. "Are you drinking blood?"

I nodded and watched her peer into my cup with interest. "Yes, I don't like much else,"

The thunking under the table told me Raven was kicking her legs back and forth- an annoying habit of hers. "River likes black coffee- heathen," Raven grumbled, and I nearly laughed.

She and River fought like nothing else, but she still knew everything about him, and clung to him like no one else. "Hmm," I said and allowed her to grab my cup, swishing it around.

"I hate coffee- Missy let me drink it, and Cross says that's why I'm so small! Isn't he mean?" Raven sighed and continued her kicking. "I don't really like drinking milk, and I don't like Apple juice," she frowned. "I'm really missing out huh? I don't even drink blood!"

I took the cup from her swiftly. "And hopefully you never will- hey, do you like hot chocolate?"

Raven shrugged and pushed her plump lips together. "Not really, only had it once at school, it was in the cafeteria, tastes like muddy water," she scrunched up her face. "Ew,"

I placed a hand over my mouth and looked away. Damn cute, I leaned over to her ear. "I know a secret recipe," I pulled back and winked.

She leaned over. "Tell me! I want to try!" Raven suddenly narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "A secret secret? River doesn't know, does he?"

I got to my feet and offered her a hand. "Let me show you, trust me?" Her eyes darted to my hand, and she nodded, taking it.

"Okay," she agreed and let me lead her to the kitchen. I pulled out a clean hand towel, wrapping it around her eyes. "Dune," she complained.

"No peeking," I said sternly and opened a cupboard, pulling out ingredients, cooking it in a pot on the stove. I carefully poured into a cup and walked over to her, holding out. "Raven," I said her name and her hands hesitantly covered mine, lips parting and head slowly moving forward.

I gazed at her as her mouth touched the rim of the cup, hands tilting the cup up. She swallowed, a smile blossoming on her face. "I love it!"

I pulled back and swallowed hard as she pulled the blindfold off, shaking out her hair. She tilted her head to the side. "What are you looking at me like that for?"

I ducked my head and laughed. "I'll tell you when you're older,"

She huffed. "Why do people always say that? I know what drugs and sex are, what's worse?"

I put my hand on her and she looked up at me. "It's better, and you're not old enough yet, it's not legal."

"Well, will you tell me when I'm older then?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I will, so, hot chocolate?"

Raven giggled and reached for the cup. "Yes, you make the best in the whole world!"

River pov

(Raven age sixteen)

I walked down the stairs and paused as I heard a large commotion coming from outside. "What's going on?" I questioned Cross, who was sitting on the couch, looking pleased.

"Dune and Fin are throwing a fit because Raven's going to jump off the roof,"

I paled. "What did you say?"

Cross flipped through a magazine. "You heard me, Raven's going to jump off the roof,"

I scoffed and stormed outside, throwing the door open and looking up where Dune and Fin were gazing.

Raven laughed and sat on the edge. "for the last time Fin, I'm not jumping, I just wanted to get a tan, all the girls are getting fake ones, so I thought, why not get a real one?"

"Raven, get down," I ordered and she sighed, standing.

"Party poopers, I'm not gonna fall," she stood and paused, stumbling over the gutter.

I swore and stared, for a moment entranced as she fell from the incredibly high roof. She didn't look scared at all as she plummeted, hair flying around her.

She actually laughed and looked delighted, as if wings would spring up and she would catch her own fall at the very last moment.

I moved forward and reached up, catching her, more angry when she giggled uncontrollably. "I fell, oops, your fault though," she giggled more at my face.

I stared, frozen as I held her. She could have died, lost her life right in front of me. "What is wrong with you?" My words were whispered, portraying emotion I normally locked up.

Raven paused. "It was an accident, I wouldn't have fallen if you weren't all yelling at me," She paused and lifted her wrist. "I think you broke my wrist when you caught me,"

And you would have broken me if I hadn't caught you.

Lion's pov,

(Raven age thirteen)

"I said no, I don't want to, hey, let me go," Raven cried and and I stomped over grabbing the fucker touching her in the parking lot beside her school.

I pulled him close and punched him with no restraint, sending him flying back, face never going to be the same.

Raven fell back against a car, hair disheveled and dress wrinkled. "Lion," she breathed in shock. "What are you doing here?"

I felt my eyes glow red. "It's past your bed time, you were to be back by twelve, it's twelve thirty, I don't care how nice the dance was, those were the terms." I walked towards her. "And you broke-"

I stopped cold as she grabbed my fist. "You have blood... on your hand," she rubbed it against her thumb and met my eyes. "Did you kill him?"

I gazed at her coldly. "Do you care?" She shivered and let go of my fist.

"I... he was trying to get me to go home with him, he wasn't listening," she mumbled and gazed at the blood now on her hand.

I reached over and grabbed her hand tightly, running my tongue through her fingers and to her wrist. Raven's breath caught and she stared at me with parted lips.

"Disgusting," I spat the blood on the pavement and glanced at her eyes.

She gazed at her hand then at my mouth, eyes darkening a little. Don't open that can of worms baby, you're not old enough. I turned and paused when she grabbed my wrist.

"Would my blood taste good?" Her voice was breathy and I went stiff, slowly turning to face her, eyes drifting to her neck.

"You just about got dragged away by some horny teenage boy, was late to get home, and you want to know if I'd like your blood?" I asked darkly.

Raven nodded and slowly let go of my wrist. "None of you have ever bitten me, would my blood taste good?" I bent over and she froze as I ran my nose over her throat.

"It would probably be the best tasting blood I've ever tasted," I said lowly, trying to remember why I couldn't bite her. She's thirteen of gods sake,

"Then taste it," her small hot hands trailed up my neck, nails scraping the nape of my neck. "Please? No one has to know, just once? Consider it an apology, oh..." She melted back against the vehicle behind her as I gave into the sick temptation, mouthing her throat.

I touched my fangs to her throat and bit her, hot sweet blood coating my tongue. Her soft moan vibrated through me, her soft body lifting up to press against me.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, I pushed her back harder into the car, eagerly drinking from her, trying to ignore the arousing scent of her own arousal.

Her head fell back with a loud thunk as she made more room for me, her hands on my back a sharp wake up call. I pulled back slightly, trying to regain my sanity, her blood coating my tongue.

Her hand slid up, swiping against the wound before she pushed it between my parted lips. "Lion, more," I kissed the bite and groaned, the sudden flood of her desire like a thick cloud in my mind.

Despite the body of the human a few feet away, Raven tried to get closer to me, and the power I held over her was intoxicating.

She would let me have her, here, against the car if I wanted, but I knew this was enough.

I pulled back and wiped my mouth as Raven stared at me with dazed eyes. "Good?" Was her breathless question.

Too good, "We need to go back, don't you fucking tell anyone I did that,"

Raven nodded and touched her neck, eyes hooded. Fuck,

Tada!

Some pasts with the vampires!! (I didn't do Cross, because he had feeling for her much later, when she was seventeen ish.)

Also, I don't support sexual activities with minors, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Hope you enjoyed!
