Summary: An anon request (thank you my dear anon!) - 'Can we have Henry dating an Australian, and how he convinces her to live with him in the UK'

Pairing: Henry x You, Henry x Reader

Words: 4.4K

Warnings: Mentions of smut!

-----

Henry watched you from his seat at the ivory covered table, unable to help his smile as he watched you on the dance floor with his sister in laws and cousins. He felt a wave of warmth flood through him as he watched you swing your hips and sing along to the DJ's song, completely enamoured by your gorgeous smile and how utterly stunning you looked tonight. You, his gorgeous, incredible girlfriend, the woman he was almost certain was the absolute love of his life.

You and Henry had been dating for almost a year. And oh what a year it had been. He'd met while you'd been traveling - you'd been on a solo tour around Europe, finishing the last leg of your holiday in London. He'd been at one of his favourite pubs - the Mason's Arms, watching his beloved Jersey Reds in the rugby championship with his friends. He remembered it like it was yesterday, meeting you, the day that he'd always remember as the day that had changed his life forever. He still remembered every single detail of that first day you'd met, every second still as clear as day and burnt into his memory like a brand.

Henry remembered the first time he'd seen you, standing in front of him at the bar when he'd walked over to get another round of drinks. The first thing he'd noticed was your lack of football colours - you'd had to be the only person in the pub not wearing anything to support either of the teams playing. Curious, he'd immediately wanted to ask you why, his eyes then falling to what he'd only been able to describe as a perfect behind. Your ass, round and peachy, covered by a pair of blue denim jeans that seemed to hug your curves in all of the right places. Jeans, he noted, that still to this day, were one of his favourite looks on you.

He remembered stepping forward to stand beside you, glancing over at you in time to see you do the same to him. He remembered the first time he'd seen your face, instantly taken aback by wide, beautiful eyes and plump, smooth lips. He remembered thinking in that moment how gorgeous he'd thought you were, your hair loose and framing your face in soft, relaxed waves.

He'd turned back to the bartender and made his order, trying to decide what to say to you when he'd suddenly heard your voice as you'd made your own order. He'd quickly deduced that you weren't a local, your voice was soft and lilting, tinged with an accent that he'd quickly placed as an Australian. He remembered the way you'd turned and glanced up at him next, parting your lips and offering him a small, soft smile. A smile, he remembered, that had knocked him back for a split second, a smile that had made him pause among all the chaos of the crowded pub and stop in a way that he hadn't in the longest time.

He'd wondered idly if you were a tourist, here on holiday or perhaps passing through on your travels, maybe even visiting for work reasons, racking his brain for the right words to strike a conversation with you as the bartender had placed three pints of Guinness in front of him. He didn't need to think long though, you instead audibly grimacing at his choice of beverage and turning to him as you'd asked how he could possibly enjoy drinking the dark Irish ale. He'd chuckled, feeling his stomach flip flop when you'd shared his laugh with him - a soft, musical laugh that Henry decided then and there that he could listen to for hours.

He remembered how your interaction had felt so comfortable after that, easy and not at all forced as he'd justified his choice of beer, watching as you'd chuckled adorably and shaken your head in response. It was then that he'd introduced himself, holding out his hand for you to shake and grinning when you'd smiled and taken his hand. Y/N, you'd said, Henry's mind pausing momentarily as he'd once again been distracted by your smile, a tingle running down his spine at the contact of your fingers against his.

He'd asked you where you were from and you in turn had told him that you were from Australia as he'd earlier guessed, explaining that you'd been exploring Europe for the last two months and were ending your trip with three weeks in London. Upon learning that you were at the pub alone, Henry had paid for your drink despite your protests and insisted that you come and sit with him and his friends.

You'd agreed after a moment and he'd led you back to his table for quick introductions with his friends, his older brother Simon shooting him a look that only brothers could communicate through. It was then that he'd discovered more about you, finding himself increasingly distracted throughout the game as you'd told him about yourself.

He'd discovered that you were 29 years old, a paramedic and from Melbourne, a city in the southern part of Australia. You were sports mad - especially for the type of football that was played in your home country, had one older brother and one dog, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Murphy. He remembered playfully teasing you - asking if you'd even known the rules of rugby, still remembering the way you'd chuckled and narrowed your eyes mischievously, reminding him that rugby was in fact, a sport that was played in Australia.

When the game eventually came to an end with Jersey taking out the title, Henry knew that the elated sense of exhilaration he'd felt hadn't just been from his team's win. You. He remembered wishing that he could spend more time with you, opening his mouth to suggest dinner when you'd smiled your gorgeous smile and beat him to it instead. You'd both smiled and said goodbye to his friends and brother, Henry offering his arm and leading you to one of his favourite hole in the wall Italian restaurants.

Henry remembered the way you'd talked - so passionately about your job, your family and your friends, the way you'd sipped your red wine, the way you'd grinned at him from across the table and made his heart feel like it was fluttering in his chest. He'd known, even back then, even after only knowing you for a few hours, he'd known that you were special, that there was something incredible about you, something that even today he still hadn't quite figured out. He remembered the way he'd felt at the end of your dinner together too - captivated, charmed and completely enamoured by you, Y/N, the woman he'd met at a bar only hours earlier.

He remembered watching you, watching the way the moonlight had illuminated your gorgeous face as you'd walked along the London streets together later in the night, watching the way you'd smiled up at him with wide, beautiful eyes. He remembered that moment, like it was frozen in time, a perfect snapshot forever saved in his brain. Most of all though, he remembered not wanting the night to finish, not wanting his time with you to end.

Knowing he had to see you again, he'd asked to see you the next day when he'd walked you back to your hotel that night, quickly discovering that you'd felt the same way when you'd agreed with an excited smile. As planned, he'd returned to your hotel the following morning eager to see you again, ready to take you out on what you'd both later refer to as your second date.

What followed that date was truly magical - the two of you spending almost all of your three weeks of vacation in London together. Henry had taken you to all of his favourite places around town - places that only a local would know of, all the while talking, laughing and sharing stories as he'd gotten to know you in the way that only happened in budding relationships. He'd even introduced you to Kal, an instant love forming between you and his number one, something that had only further proven to him how incredible he'd thought you were.

The sex - well that had happened too, a conclusion to your third date when Henry had invited you over to his house for dinner. You'd both been sitting on the couch nursing glasses of Pinot Noir following the delicious dinner he'd cooked, Henry watching you as you'd looked back at him, your lips tinged red from the wine and as tempting as ever. Unable to help himself he'd pulled you in for a kiss just like he had at the end of your second date, feeling your body quickly melt into him as he'd pulled you onto his lap and explored your mouth with his. The intimacy between you had quickly escalated, soon becoming lips and tongues, touches and sighs, and before long Henry had picked you up and carried you to his bedroom. He'd pulled you from your clothes and proceeded to worship your naked curves, the two of you falling into one another, once, twice, three times, until you'd fallen victim to the pull of sleep, a tangle of sheets and limbs.

By the end of those three weeks Henry had been almost certain that he'd fallen in love with you - with your smile, your laugh, your intellect and your wit, with everything about you that he'd found himself otherwise completely enamoured by. You. Y/N. His new found world. Knowing that he'd wanted - no, needed, to tell you before your time together was up, he'd told you as such, told you that he'd loved you, the night before you'd been set to fly home. You'd been lying in bed, naked and wrapped in each other's arms, sweaty and sated after a round of passionate love making. Henry had looked you in the eyes and reached up to caress your cheek with his tender hand, the words falling from his lips as he'd told you just how much you'd meant to him.

The airport had been difficult - as had been the first week after you'd left, but still Henry had persisted, determined to make things work with you, the girl that had all but stolen his heart. There'd been phone calls and video chats on every other night, Henry's heart flipping every time he'd seen your incredible smile light up his phone screen. He'd sent you gifts - little things to tell you that he was thinking about you, to remind you of him as the weeks went by. Tiger lilies and orchids, chocolates and wine, a framed photo of you, him and Kal. Things got harder as the days went on - Henry missed you terribly and found himself increasingly unable to think straight, his mind almost completely occupied by thoughts of you and when he'd be able to see you again.

Two and a half months later he'd gotten his first break in filming, promptly booking tickets and boarding the twenty two hour flight to Australia. Upon his arrival you'd spent the first few days in bed together, wrapped around each other and holding each other close as you'd both found your release again and again and again. When you did finally surface you'd done for Henry what he'd done for you - taken him on a trip around your city to places that only a local like you would know. Insistent that he learn more about your life in Australia, Henry had convinced you to introduce him to your older brother and your two best girl friends - all three of them quick to approve him as your new beau.

Almost as quickly as it had begun Henry's time in Australia was over, and after a goodbye filled with teary eyes and prolonged hugs, he was soon flying back to London. He hated that part, leaving you, forever feeling like he was leaving a part of him behind, a piece of his heart left behind with you.

The next few months passed by much the same - you'd alternate visiting each other every few months, you flying over to London and him over to Melbourne. Each trip started in the same way, the two of you spending the first few days in bed and wrapped around each other - making up for lost time, catching up on everything you'd missed when you'd been apart.

He couldn't quite describe the way he'd felt whenever he'd first seen you again after spending months apart, an overwhelming sense of joy, of contentment, of warmth, filling him, all from just being in your presence again. It would be days and weeks of bliss with you then, every time you came to visit, all of it seemingly disappearing the moment you'd leave to fly home again. He'd always felt empty whenever you'd left, like there was a hole inside of him that he just couldn't fill, a sense of longing hanging over him like a looming storm cloud, a coldness in his stomach that he just couldn't shake.

So now, on your third trip to London, the two of you guests at his cousin's extravagant outdoor wedding, he realised as he watched you from his spot at the table, how much he didn't want to feel that anymore.

He knew you were the one for him, the love of his life, his everything. You'd stolen his heart and made it yours, stolen it with your gorgeous smile and incredible laugh, your intellect, your brain, your caring, kind heart. As he watched you on the dance floor, tossing your hair and laughing as you danced along with his sister in laws, he knew that it was time. Time to finally get rid of the quite literal oceans of distance between you, time to erase that empty feeling once and for all. He had no idea if you'd even say yes - after all, he was more than aware of the enormity of what he was going to ask you. It would mean you basically up-ending your life, leaving behind everything you'd ever known, your family, your friends, your job. Still, Henry had never been more sure of anything in his life. He loved you, and he knew that you loved him, and he was ready for the next big step.

"Having fun handsome?" you asked when you returned to the table, bending to kiss Henry and smiling when he looked over you appreciatively. You looked gorgeous tonight - even more so than normal if that was possible, dressed in a silky, emerald green slip dress that skimmed your curves beautifully.

"I am, sweetheart. You look like you're enjoying yourself out there" Henry replied gently, smiling when you moved to sit on his lap. You grinned, "You know I love weddings" you said as you reached for your half full glass of champagne and taking a sip, "And dancing even more so". Henry smiled at you, bending forward to press a kiss to the side of your head, snaking one of his arms around and resting it on your bare thigh where the slit in your dress had slipped open.

You both looked over when Simon, Henry's brother, and his wife Natalie said that they were leaving, the DJ at the same time announcing the last song of the night. "No you can't leave yet! There's one more song!" you'd shouted as you'd stood up from Henry's lap, bouncing over and tugging on Natalie's arm. "Come on Nat, one more dance!". A few more seconds of insistent pleading from you and Simon and Nat had given in, heading over to the dance floor as you'd convinced the rest of the Cavill's to get up too. Henry chuckled as he'd watched you pull his father up from his seat to dance, the eldest Cavill male apparently not immune to your charming smile either.

Soon you were all up on the dance floor, his parents, all five Cavill boys and all of their wives and children, Henry grinning and taking you in his arms as he moved you both along to the beat. Before long the wedding was over, the two of you saying goodbye to his family and returning to Henry's home.

Henry smiled as he loosed his tie and sat down on the bed, watching you in the bathroom as you washed your face and removed your make-up from the night. You'd slipped off your heels almost as soon as you'd stepped through the door, your dress following soon after when you'd walked into the bedroom. Now, standing in nothing but your black lacy lingerie, Henry couldn't help but stare. God you were gorgeous, every single inch of you.

"Thank you so much for bringing me along tonight Henry" you yelled out to him as you picked up your toothbrush and covered it with toothpaste, "I really did have a fantastic time. I love your family, all of them. They're all so much fun". Henry chuckled as he slipped off his jacket, stepping into the bathroom and looking over you as he undid his cuff links. "No darling, thank you for coming with me" he replied as he began to unbutton his shirt, looking down at you as you brushed your teeth, "And my family adores you. Almost every single one of my brothers told me so tonight. And don't even get me started on what my mother said".

You grinned up at him with a mouthful of toothpaste, the sight making his insides his heart warm. He undid the final button and tossed his shirt into the wash pile, turning to look back at you and crossing his arms as he leaned against the door frame. "What?" you asked when you'd spit out your toothpaste and rinsed your mouth, "What are you looking at me like that for?".

Henry smiled and shook his head, his thoughts from earlier at the wedding once again invading his mind. The thought of you leaving was too much for him to bear - he didn't want to do it anymore, he wanted to have you here. It was time, he knew it, time for the next step in your relationship. Henry smiled. "Just looking at you sweetheart. Do you have any idea how gorgeous you looked tonight?" he asked, unfolding his arms and stepping towards you, "Do you have any idea how beautiful you look right now?".

He watched as you smiled and shook your head at his words, stepping towards him to wrap your arms around his neck. "I could say the same thing to you handsome" you breathed, your fingers playing with the soft hair at the nape of his neck and making him hum in contentment. "As much as I do love you in a suit" you whispered, pausing to run one hand down his bare chest, "I love you without a shirt on even more so". Henry chuckled at your words and bent to kiss you, pressing his lips to yours in a gentle kiss and running his tongue along your bottom lip. "That's funny" he whispered, one of his hands running down your naked back and cupping your ass in his palm, "Because I love you without any clothes on even more so".

He watched as you chuckled and bent to kiss him again, letting out a soft squeal when he bent and lifted you onto the bathroom counter. He felt his insides stir as your grip on his neck tightened, moving to stand between your legs and letting out a moan when you wrapped your legs around his waist. He kissed you again, harder this time, moving his hands up and along your back until he cupped your face in his hands.

"Y/N, love" Henry breathed between kisses, groaning when you bit his bottom lip, "Sweetheart, wait". You pulled away then, your expression curious, worried almost, your arms still wrapped around his neck. "I need to ask you something" he whispered, tenderly caressing your cheek with his thumb as he looked back into your eyes. "It's something I've been thinking about for a while now, something that's been on my mind since you left after your last visit".

He watched as you stared at him for a moment, like you were unsure what to say, looking back at him without words. "What do you mean? What is it Henry?" you replied, your voice soft and small, your eyes wide as you looked back at him. He held your gaze and smiled, reaching up to brush your hair from your face. Even without make up he still thought you were stunning, your face young and soft and still as beautiful as that day he'd first seen you in the pub.

"I love you Y/N. With all of my heart. You are the one, my everything, and I've known it since the first moment that we sat down in that restaurant a year ago" Henry breathed, looking back at you and watching your face soften at his words. "This past year with you has been incredible. I've loved every minute I've spent with you Y/N, every single memory that we've made together with every visit. But that's just it" Henry whispered, feeling his heart start to race as he looked at you, "I don't want it to be just visits anymore. I don't want to spend months without you Y/N, I want you to be with me, here".

Henry didn't say anything as he watched you, your eyes wide as you looked back at him. He knew what he was asking - he knew how big of a question it was, swearing he could see the thoughts running through your head as he watched your face. "I—I know what I'm asking, I'm aware of the enormity of the decision I'm asking you to make Y/N" he said when you hadn't answered him moments later, "But I just–I don't want to go on like this anymore. I want you here–no, I need you here with me Y/N. You and me, love. Us, together. Here".

"Henry I–". "I know this may seem out of the blue sweetheart. But, I've really given this a lot of thought. It's something I thought of the last time you were here, when I introduced you to my family at that lunch at their place in Jersey. I just, I don't know, since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. And once I did, it just made so much sense". Henry felt like his heart was going to beat right out of his chest as he watched your face, knowing he was babbling but feeling seemingly powerless to stop it. He felt like he needed to explain every thought to you, show you exactly how he felt, make you understand just how much he wanted you here. Make you understand, just how much he needed you, here with him.

Finally, he forced himself to stop talking, looking back at you with wide eyes as he held your gaze and looked into your eyes. Your arms were still wrapped around his neck, your legs still around his waist as you sat on the bathroom counter, the two of you silent as you looked back at each other. God you were gorgeous, so so beautiful, every single thing about you was. Henry knew he'd never forget the way he felt that first time he'd seen you in the bar that day, the first time he'd seen you grin at him - big and beautiful, lighting up your entire face. He loved you, you were his world, his everything, and in that moment he couldn't help but hope with every single fibre in his body that you'd say yes. Yes to moving across the world, yes to staying in London, yes to moving in with him. Just, yes.

When you still hadn't answered him a moment later, Henry felt his chest contract and all of a sudden he realised he was scared. Terrified. What if you said no? What if this was a deal breaker for you? Was he asking too much of you? Was it too soon? Was it too much? He didn't know. All he knew was how he felt about you - you, the woman of his dreams, the woman that could make him feel on top of the world with just one look. You were the love of his life, he was sure of it - and right now he knew that he'd never been more sure of anything in his life. You. Y/N.

Trying to drown out his rampant thoughts and doing his best to ignore the panic that was beginning to settle in his chest, Henry opened his mouth to speak again when you suddenly silenced him with a finger to his lips. "Shhh Henry" you whispered, your wide eyes trained on his and making him feel like you could see right through him. A million thoughts ran through his mind and his heart thumped so loud that he was sure you could hear it too, his eyes glued to your face as he watched you drop your finger and reach up to cup his cheek. He let out an audible breath and leaned his face into your hand, the contact of your skin bringing a momentary sense of comfort to his racing heart beat. He watched you as you looked at him, your expression giving nothing away, Henry realising in that moment that he had no idea what you were going to say. His stomach knotted and his breath caught, inhaling audibly as he braced himself for your inevitable answer.

All of a sudden, Henry felt like the world was moving in slow motion, his heart swelling as he watched your lips part into a smile. Your smile, that smile, the smile that in an instant transported him back to that night at that little Italian restaurant, back to that night where he'd fallen in love with you for the very first time. That smile, that gorgeous smile, that smile that he knew in an instant, was your answer to his question.

Three letters, one word. One little word with a whole lot of meaning, one little word that Henry knew, marked the beginning of the newest chapter of his life. The next step in his relationship, the next milestone with you, Y/N, his love, his everything. His whole world. You. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours, holding you tightly in his arms as your soft voice echoed in his ears.

"Yes".
