Sam's POV:
I woke up and noticed that me and Florence were in a different position than last night. I was facing the window with my back to Florence, she had her arm wrapped around my waist and her head tucked in on the back of my neck (basically spooning)
I was about to fall back asleep when I heard my phone vibrating on my nightstand. I reached over to see who it was
Tracy popped up on my screen. I didn't think it was important so I
Turned it over and rolled over to face Florence, I looked at her features as the sun outlined them. Her eyes were softly closed, there was a small smile on her face. I kissed the top of her head and closed my eyes again
Just as I was drifting off my phone started vibrating again.
"It must be important Sam, answer it," Florence said with a raspy voice
I whispered a sorry and picked up the phone
"I really hope someone is dead for you to ruin my morning"
"Sam I'm sorry I just..." Her voice was breaking
"Oh god Tracy are you ok?"
"He's cheated on me"
"How? How do you know?"
"I went into work, Enzo left early said something about having a meeting. I didn't think anything of it" she paused
"Hey, hey calm down leave work. Come over to my house." Florence was now sitting up, she had her hand on my lower back
"Are you sure? I don't want to impose"
"Of course it's fine! You're my sister. Florence is going to be here is that ok?" I asked holding Florence's hand
"Yeah, yeah of course. She's basically my sister-in-law" she laughed slightly
"Shut up Tracy. We'll be waiting" I hung up the phone and looked up at Florence
I walked out of the room and walked into the kitchen, I opened a cupboard and took out a glass. I don't know what came over me but the next thing I knew the class was out of my hand and shattered all over the floor
Florence ran down the stairs worry spread all over her face
"I-he was supposed to be good! I was so nice to him! Why would he go and do this to her?!" I yelled slamming my hands down on the counter
"Who are you talking about Sam?" She asked coming over to me and holding my hands in hers
"Enzo" I whispered my eyes tearing up
"Oh my god..." She gasped
"I'll get changed and i- I'll leave, give you and Tracy some time to talk," she said about to walk away. I stopped her and took her by the wrists
"No no, she wants you here. I want you here. You are a part of the family now" I smiled at her
I grabbed the broom in the corner of my kitchen and cleaned up the glass
"Sorry about the glass" I waved my hands around
"I just, I don't know he was so nice to me. He was the sweetest around me- oh god" I stopped where I was standing
"Sam? What's wrong?" Florence walked up to me
"He was only nice around me so I wouldn't notice how he was with her" I looked at Florence then down at my hands
"I should have noticed this, I shouldn't have-" I sat down. My hands were shaking
Florence came over to me and hugged me from behind and placed her chin on my shoulder. She put her hands over mine
"Calm down darling. She doesn't blame you for it ok?" I nodded my head and took a deep breath
Florence put her head in the crook of my neck. Just having her here was easing my mind
Time skip
There was a knock at the door while me and Florence we're having a coffee, I went to the front door, Tracy was there with tears running down her face
"Come here" I whispered as she collapsed in my arms gripping my shirt like it was the only thing holding her up
"Come on, let's get you to the kitchen Florence is in there and there's coffee that was just made" she nodded her head and whipped her tears
I was first to walk in, Florence looked at me than behind me. She gave Tracy a small smile and handed her a cup of coffee
"I don't know how you like it, but I can get some cream and sugar for you," she said walking over to the fridge
"Blacks fine. Thank you" she looked at Florence
We all sat down at the island, I was in the middle with Florence on my right while Tracy was on my left, I told her we were here for her and we'll be listening the whole time
"I had to go into the office to get some paperwork" she started
"I needed to get something from Jessica's (coworker) office, her office was on the floor above mine so it was a pretty long walk. Thank God I didn't wear heels" she chuckled lightly
"As I was walking I heard someone in the janitor's closet, so I opened the door." She paused tears threatening to fall down her face
"Enzo was in there on top of some girl. He shot his head in my direction and jumped off the girl. He was yelling my name but I just ran to my office, got my stuff and left. I tried so hard to be perfect for him, I didn't tho k he would ever cheat" she started breaking down
I looked at Florence than at Tracy. I got up off the stool and wrapped my arms around her
"I'm here, going to be ok." I paused and looked over at Florence again. I nodded my head towards the living room
"Hey, I'll be right back. I just need to talk to Flo" she nodded and I left the room
Florence sitting on the couch tapping her foot against the hardwood floor
"I know this is a lot to ask but she has nowhere to go, do you think I could stay with you and mom for a bit while Tracy has my place?" I looked anywhere but at her. I didn't want her to see the worry on my face
"Oh my God yes. That's not a lot to ask Sam, your sister is in need. It's so nice for you to do this even after all that's happened in the past" she stood up and walked over to me
"I just need you to promise me one thing." I looked over at her and nodded
"I need you to promise you won't find him and fight him. I don't want you to get hurt, I also want you to promise that you will check on her every day."
"I will definitely check on her, I'll come over in the mornings before me and you have to go talk with Macey, I'll call on our lunch break, and me and you can visit before we head home" I reassured her
"What about not fighting him?" She asked
"I won't fight him. But I will talk to him." I looked at her
"No." She said sternly
"What? Florence I'm not going to get him just get away with this! I told him what would happen if he hurt her!" I raised my voice
"Sam calm down. You can talk to him in a week, but right now you're too mad and you'll end up hurting yourself." Florence said with a tone I didn't recognize
"Flo, she's my sister. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure he gets what he deserves" I said through gritted teeth
Florence took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She was getting stressed
"Samantha, baby listen to me please, this jerk doesn't deserve your anger. It's not worth it, take a cool down and talk to him later. Spend time with your sister make sure she's ok" Florence had fear behind her eyes, it's all I could see.
"Ok, but if he shows up here looking for her I can't say I won't do anything" she nodded and hugged me
"In getting Macey to put a team here. No one will be allowed to come near the house unless your home" she whispered. I nodded my head and made my way back to Tracy
"So, you're going to stay here. I'll be staging with Florence, we'll be here a lot to check on you, and make sure your ringer is on ok?" She nodded her head slowly and looked at me
"Flo will get a team here to keep watch while we're gone, it'll only be a team of people we trust I promise" Florence nodded at that
" we will work on getting your stuff as well, but for now just make yourself at home." I smiled at walked over to the sink
Tracy left to look around while Florence stayed and hugged me from behind
"You did good, I'm proud of you" she whispered. I said a small thank you back and kissed her hand
We stood like this for a few more minutes until Tracy came in
"He- sorry for interrupting, Sam can I talk to you?" She asked awkwardly standing in the doorway
"Yeah sure" I smiled and nodded
"I need to go make some phone calls, I'll be out on the back step" Florence kissed my cheek and nodded at Tracy as she left the room
"You've got a good one sis" Tracy said standing across from me
"Yeah I do" I smiled
"So I wanted to talk about all this," I nodded letting her continue
"Are you only doing this because Florence told you to?" I looked at her surprised
"What-what are you talking about?"
"I mean come on Sam when J died I left you to grieve on your own, you had no one! Mom blocked you out because of dad, dad wouldn't talk to you cause you're gay, and I was gone living my life" she paused searching my face for something
"Why are you being so nice to us after what we've done to you?" Her voice breaking
"I wanted to start over, people make mistakes that's what makes us human. I didn't want to hold a grudge forever. I forgave you both and moved on" I looked down at the floor
"No Sam! You don't just move on from that! You stopped coming to family dinners, you stopped talking to us. That day you called me for help I was so happy I would get to see you again" she said pacing around
"Tracy you know dad didn't want me around, and you and mom would only talk about you. I tried to be 'part of the family' it just didn't work out. But I moved on when mom called me and said you had talked to her. I forgave you for leaving me alone when I needed you, I forgave you for not calling back, I forgave mom for not wanting me like she wanted you, and some small part of me even forgave dad for not loving me just because I was gay" I paused tears running down my face
Tracy was just looking at me with wide eyes
"That woman out there has changed my life for the good. A day after I met her I was crying in her arms because I told her about J" Tracy gasped
"I haven't been able to open up to anyone in a long time. But as soon as I walked into her office to get that job, I knew she was going to have an impact on my life." I looked up at Tracy
"How long?" She asked out of nowhere
"What?"
"How long have you known her?" She asked leaning against the wall
"3 months" I looked back down at the ground
"You've only known her for 3 months and on day 2 you told her about J?" She asked
I was starting to get worried. I nodded my head not knowing what to do or say. She looked at me for a long time before waking up to me and hugging me tightly
"Thank you for letting me stay here," she said not letting go
"No problem Tracy" I smiled
Florence came back into the house and smiled at what she saw, I smiled back
"I hate to cut the hug shot but I need to pack a few things to take with me," I said pulling away slightly, Tracy nodded her head and went into the living room
I walked upstairs to my room and took out two suitcases and started packing clothes, shoes, and other things into them. Florence was standing in the doorway watching me with a smile on her face
"You heard the whole thing didn't you?" I asked her not looking away from what I was doing
"I tried not to eavesdrop but I heard yelling so I came back in, but then well you were there you know what happened," she said stopping herself from rambling I nodded and laughed
"What's so funny?" She asked coming over to me
"You darling, you are," I said as I kissed her lips
She shook her head and walked away
