the sound of a knock on the door caused soojin to rise, her hands wiping themselves on the thighs of her jeans before finding the handle.
she didn't know why she was so nervous, but she just couldn't get her pulse to slow back to normal. it drummed in her ears, so loud she barely heard the "hey" from the gorgeous man in front of her.
snapping out of her jitters with a blink, soojin stepped to the side to let him in. he walked past, the ravenette catching a whiff of his perfume and suddenly feeling weak to her knees.
everything about his radiated lust. she felt drawn to him, and soojin knew that was dangerous, especially since she didn't really know him. he was a complicated mess. a red flag. but she couldn't help gravitating towards him.
"i missed you," she confessed, so suddenly it caused both of them to freeze.
it was a normal thing to say, especially after being away for a month, but something about the tone of her voice held more. she meant it more. and she didn't know why, because, in truth, she was almost scared to see him again.
yuta was slow to look back at her, his shoulders appearing heavy with her words. "soojin..."
"i'm sorry, it just blurted out. i mean, i did miss you, i missed you all, but... you know..." she paused, unable to stop herself from stammering.
before she knew what was happening yuta was in front of her, his fingers ghosting the burning pink flesh of her cheek as he bit down hard on his lip to stop himself from saying something rash.
he didn't know why he was so attracted to her, and yuta hated how his skin automatically wanted to be on hers. like he couldn't keep his hands away.
soojin let out a shaky breath, one that hit the boy's neck and finally caused him to drop his hand. "what was that?" she spoke, voice so quiet yuta barely heard her.
"i..." he swallowed hard, fist-clenching around the sleeve opening of his jacket. "i have to go."
"wait!" she caught his arm as he tried to maneuver past her, stray raven hairs falling from her quickly tied hair. "don't go... we need to talk about what you said at the airport."
yuta's eyes pinched shut, wanting nothing more than to turn around and tell her everything she deserved to hear. but he didn't. he couldn't.
gently pulling his arm from her loose grasp, the boy walked out and let the door close behind him. soojin pulled the flannel printed beanie from her back pocket, clutching it in her fist as she stared at the door.
what the hell just happened?
