I Am Lacerta Chapter 52
"You think your all tough don't you, Lacerta. Well you know what - your just a kid. I don't know how you got messed up in all this crap, but I hope for your sake that you get yourself out again... please..." Lara Low whispered, at first murderously but at the end she turned pleading.
"I hope for your sisters sake, that you don't annoy me too much.." I fired back at her without blinking an eye. She shook her head and the pleading expression left, the glint of pure loathing returned to her eye.
"How'd you get involved in this anyway? Your like, what.. eleven, twelve?" Lara spat angrily.
"I'm thirteen actually. And I'm my mother's daughter, if you know what I mean..." I said quietly, but by no means scared.
"Oh yes, how could I forget - we're dealing with a Bellatrix Lestrange wannabee here..." Lara said spitefully. "Let's hope you don't get yourself locked up in Azkaban like your dear mummy, because your boyfriend isn't going to save you now..."
"You think they could actually keep me in Azkaban?" I said spitefully, laughing humourlessly.
"Of course they could - you're nothing special, Lacerta Lestrange, whether you like it or not." Lara spat back.
"Ah, don't lie to me Lara - just a moment ago you told Emmeline Vance that I had to be special to kill your precious sister." I mocked, laughing childishly when her face screwed up in anger. I calmed down a bit, took a deep breath and said, "Well, she wasn't that good anyway. Wasn't much fight left in her to be honest with you... any other siblings I should know about by the way, while I'm still writing the hit-list and all..."
"Stay away from my family, you stupid little bitch!" Lara screeched and shot a curse at me.
I was expecting her to do this - anger clouds your judgement and I really pissed her off - so I blocked it easily. I grinned cheekily to myself and said:
"Ah, so there are others. You said "family" not "sister". Perhaps I'll go after mummy and daddy - maybe you've got a brother I could go for..." I said, blocking two more curses that came flying from her wand, dodging out of the way of the third and throwing a curse back in return, which she sadly dodged.
I hated being in defence - you could only protect yourself not do any lasting damage - so I switched back to offence and forced her into defence. "Expulso!" I thought screamed at her and she blocked it at the last second.
I kept shooting spell after spell at her, Caedere, Crucio, Reducto, Deprimo, Confringo - the last one just singeing the edges of her sleeves before she deflected it. I shrieked shrilly in anger, before thinking for a second and smirking to myself.
I internally summoned a voice, one she would recognise... I remembered Kitty Low's last scream and channelled it into a audible noise. I made it appear behind Lara...
Kitty Low's echo of a scream from my memory caught Lara off guard. She spun round crazily screeching:
"Kitty?!", and I took that opportunity to confund her.
"Tut, tut, tut Lara... I thought you of all people would know that your sister's dead..." I mocked evilly, bringing tears to Lara's eyes.
"How could you... how did you-"
I silenced her with a wave of my hand. "Please don't make me suffer through your stupid mumbling.... maybe I should kill you? Ah, no that wouldn't really be revenge would it... perhaps I should, yes..." I muttered crazily, until I realised what I was doing and looked back up to Lara.
She was looking at me terrified, but dazed still. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Caedere!" I screeched and sliced the air. The backs of her legs suddenly puckered wounds and they started bleeding profusely. She screeched in agony and fell to her knees.
"What have you done to me?" she shrieked.
"Revenge?" I said in a questioning tone, though we both knew I wasn't asking.
"Lara! Lara Low where are you?!" a far away voice called. My head snapped up and my eyes flashed from side to side. They caught back to Lara again and I smirked.
"Gotta dash, Lara. See you soon, yeah? Oh... but before I go-" in one slick movement I pulled the daagger from it's holster on my leg and threw it in Lara's direction. She turned to dodge it, but couldn't move fast enough and it hit the back of her left shoulder.
I screeched with laughter and ran towards her, plucking the knife from the wound. I whispered in her ear:
"Bye, bye for now Lara-kins. Don't forget about me." I said childishly, then added, "Revenge is a bitch, much like yourself.", before sprinting in the other direction.
I heard someone running towards Lara, as I ran towards a cracking sound in the distance. I saw figures in a dark alley and strolled into it, seeing some familiar faces.
"Alright, men- and Aoife? You ready?" they all looked up at my arrival. They nodded noncommitally, not really too bothered about it.
"Don't make me motivate you - there's filthy blood-traitors and mudbloods-" Aoife winced at the word "-to be dealing with. Alright, so I overheard them saying that they would try and bring Lupin, Tonks,-"
"Your "dear" cousin." sneered one of the men and they all guffawed with laughter. I gripped my dagger tighter and stabbed at him. It caught the scuff of his neck and I sneered at him:
"Fair warning, sunshine - don't mess with me. Alright?" I asked, my eyes snapping from person to person in the crowd. I internally snickered - I guess I was a natural born leader.
"As I was saying - Lupin, Tonks, maybe Mad-Eye, Shaklebolt, Vance- you get the idea. So... here's the plan..."
