today we're talking abt stuff in the LOTR show im actually excited for
bc contrary to my last chapter im not SUPER negative about it
so let's go
1) THE DIVERSITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
so i touched on this in my last chapter obvi how could i not
but this is a HUGE reason why im excited for the show
POC representation, more female characters (MY GIRL GALADRIELLLLLLLLLL bc her and eowyn are literally the only women in the series who do anything [sorry Tolkien still love ya but it had to be said] and id love to see her more, especially bc i love the actress they chose to play her) I NEED IT ALL
bc yall it is the 21st century, by now we all agree that LOTR is EXTREMELY gay and we need more (canon) diversity in the legendarium than just the sadly headcannon (but come on, aralas, frosam, etc are so fanon theyre BASICALLY canon) fandom has.
so im extremely excited for that, and even tho ill admit i do have some conventional views on the legendarium (like when i heard they might do a sci-fi version of numenor in the show i was like aw HELL NO) but this does not at all make it into that category
so screw anyone who says otherwise <3
2) Numenor
ok so i said some harsh things abt the first shot of numenor in the trailer in pt one of these two chapters, but LETS JUST TAKE A SECOND HERE OKAY
there are some ✨inner✨ shots of numenor in the trailer that i think are VERY frickin cool, and its just that first shot w the overall like white marble-y outer facade CGI thing that i have a problem with.
HOWEVER its possible that its just like that in the trailer, and when the actual show comes out itll look much better and cooler and less CGI
bc that architecture is SO GOOD and my convential-numenor-ideal heart was like YESSSSS when i saw it but then my perfectionist ass brain was like euhhhhhhh thats so fake and CGI
but hopefully when it all comes together itll look good
BUT MY POINT ISNT HOW ITLL LOOK
bc numenor is genuinely one of my favourite concepts in the whole ass legendarium, i love it SO MUCH, it developped into the human cities and civilizations of middle-earth that are in LOTR as we know it today, and i just adore the Arthurian almost like Asgardian vibe it gives off
i would wanna live there except we all know how THAT story ends up....
plus y'all know im literally an elf stfu 😠😠😠
and so im so excited to see the numenor content and overall (bc a lot of it DOES center in numenor) the second age content ive (and im assuming we all have) been craving!!!!
now i have more to say on this but my next point spills into that so lemme cap point #2 here
3) that battle shiz 👹👹👹👹

ok so when i was thinking this chapter out in my head i could only think of three points of things that im excited for but NOWWWW i have so much i wanna mention

heres the thing: a lot of ppl are comparing the way amazon is portraying galadriel to brienne of tarth in GOT or joan of arc irl, and ppl are coming for that and saying its A JOKE
and im like what???????????
tf is WRONG w brienne of tarth and joan of arc??????? they were both BADASSES
