The day after that party everyone was buzzing. Accept the Slytherins, yes I had singled them out. But who cares they'd probably snake to Professor Snape. I was at breakfast, Hermione was going off about Rita Skeeter because of what she put in the Daily Prophet, about her and Harry. Everyone could care less.
'Amazing party, Black!' I got a group of people give me a high fives. Basically everyone accept Slytherin loved me. That party was the party of all parties. Nobody's had that much fun in ages. I then went back to what I was doing, eating breakfast sitting next to Hermione. Who stopped rambling on about the newspaper. I then looked at Prongs who was looking elsewhere, I followed his gaze to see him eye a particular Ravenclaw....Cho Chang. They both caught sight of eachother across the room, he smiled but water came out his mouth. I just looked at him with concern, my eyebrow raised.
'Really? Chang? Prongs, you're deluding yourself that's Diggory's girl' I snap my fingers in his face.
Soon a little ginger Gryffindor called Nigel came up to Ron with a big brown box.
'What's that for?' I asked smiling
Ron thanked the little first year, but he just stood there. Me and Hermione exchanged looks.
'Not now, Nigel' Ron whispered as Nigel went away
'Now what was that all about?' I questioned
'I told him I'd get Harry's autograph' he mumbled as I laughed
Soon he opened the package to find robes that looked like they had been through a war.
'Ron what are those?' I laughed loudly
'These must be for Ginny...' he trailed of as he walked over to Ginny who was sitting a while away from us.
'Ginny these must be for you' he said confidently
'Ugh, I'm not wearing that-that's ghastly' he said putting down her spoon.
He went back to us.
'Then who's are these for then?' He asked
'Ahaha don't be silly Ron they're for you'd Hermione stares as people laugh around him.
'Is there a bonnet...' Harry looked in the package to find a bonnet who he got it out and showed it to him.
'What are they for though?' I asked
'I don't know...but it looks like a big deal' Hermione trails off
I looked to the Slytherin table to see Malfoy looking straight back at me. The nights I've been seeing him, he poured his heart and soul out. How much he though I was funny, his childhood memories. But when I look at him, I still feel conflicted. We then were dismissed from breakfast. But as we were heading to class we got stopped.
'You shall meet in the hall..for a special lesson' McGonagall said to us all
'What lesson is that?' Hermione asked clutching her books
'A good one! Now all Gryffindor's to the hall! All Slytherin's to the Dungeons and Hufflepuff's and Ravenclaw's to the Room of Requirement!' She shouted
We all went into the hall, we were sectioned off. Boys one side, girls the other. There was space between us. But I managed to creep on the boys side next to Fred and George.
McGonagall was there along with and Filch, and Mr Norris.
'The Yule ball has been a tradition of the Tri-Wizard tournament, since it's inception..on Christmas Eve night we and our guests gather in the great hall for a night of well-mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school I expect each and everyone of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the Yule Ball...is first and foremost, a dance' McGonagall said as her voice projected off the walls
I rolled my eyes. All the girls exchanged looks as I heard all the boys grunt.
I don't mind a dance, but partying was more my thing and rocking out with the twins.
After a while McGonagall shuts us up.
'Silence! The house of Godric's Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizard world for nearly ten centuries, I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching those names by behaving like babbling bumbling band of baboons.' She explained scanning the room
'Try saying that five time faster' one twins said to me and his twin
'Babbling bumbling band of baboons' I started
'Babbling bumbling band of baboons'

We said it back and fourth between each other before laughing.
'Breathe! Inside every girl a secret swan slumbers longing to burst forth and take flight' McGonagall's footsteps came towards the girls.
Well...I'm an Animagus, so there's only a dog inside it.
'I know there's something going to burst out of Eloise Midgen but I don't think it's a swan' we heard Ron whisper to Seamus. I then hit his head as he massaged it. He turned to me. I shook my head.
'Inside every boy, a lordly lion prepared to prance. Mister Weasley' McGonagall came forward offering her hand to Ron, she must of heard that remark.
'Yes' he says lowly sinking in his seat.
'Will you join me please' she asked
Me and the twins looked bewildered by what we were about to witness.
Soon Ron was literally in the middle of the hall.
'Mister Weasley take my waist'
'Where' he asked urgently looking at us for help
'My waist' McGonagall smiled
I then whistled tauntingly as Ron turned with an unreadable expression before McGonagall made him turn back
'Mr Filch if you please' McGonagall orders Filch to play the music
I then heard the music intoxicate the room.
'One two three, one two three, one two theee.' McGonagall shouted, they then danced around the hall.
As they were dancing along with the music me, Fred and George moved along with the music.
'You're never going to let him forget this, are you?' Harry mutters to us
'Never' we say simultaneously.
Soon they finished, they all wanted us to join in, and pick a partner. The girls kept to their fear but they boys were reluctant.
'Care to dance?' Fred asked
'Hey no way! I was going to ask her' George nudged Fred.
'You snooze you loose.' He smirks at his twin
'I'll just go with Pavarti then. But expect Puking Pastilles in your pumpkin juice. ' he mumbled
'Yeah yeah, sod off' he shouted as he took my hand and led me to where everyone was dancing
Fred gripped my waist with a cheeky grin we then danced. We looked into each other's eyes. Apart of me wished it was with Malfoy, like the nights on the Astronomy tower. Wait! No! I can't be thinking such things!
'Are you okay?' He asked in my ear
I just nodded. We continued to dance, both of us glued to one another. Until we pulled apart, the lesson was over. But we have to know the waltzed for the ball which was in a few weeks. Which wasn't long.
It was lunch as I took my usual spot next to Prongs. He was still looking at Cho.
'So who are you going to ask to the ball, Prongs? I hear people are already asking the good ones out. You better hurry, or you'll be stuck with Puggy Parkinson' I smirked looking at the bob black haired girl
'I-uh...don't know. And no...not her' he looked down
'Ron...you?' I asked
He just shrugged. I know he wanted to ask Hermione. He just needs the courage.
'This ball will be something else. Not better than mine and the twins party but we better get our dresses before all the others do' I told Hermione
She just nodded. Blushing.
The other lessons flew by. Everyone couldn't stop talking about it. Many of the Durmstrangs asked out the Beauxbatons, along with some of the girls from Hogwarts.
Soon we saw the Patil twins walk past us.
'Hi Harry' they both said flustered
We followed them. I went back to the Gryffindor common room to get some of Snape's homework done. I then went into my Animagus form. And trotted up to the Astronomy tower to meet...no one.
I looked around. But nobody came. Where was he? I then turned back into my human form until I heard someone's voice
'I knew it'
I turned to see the blonde boy step out from the shadows, the ones I would usually be in. He looked betrayed
'It was you all along. Playing with me were you?!' He said angrily
'What?! No-I-I-' I stuttered, why can't I come out with a comeback
'Save it. I poured my feelings out to you, about you. I thought you-you were a random dog until I started to look into things more. I found you were just playing my with my heart. All because you want to make me your target to make my life hell' he shouted
'What has that got to do with me being a dog?!' I shouted back
'No! You probably wanted more secrets to spread it around the school, you think this little prank would be funny?!' He bellowed
What prank? I didn't even prank him for some weeks?
'What prank are you talking about?!' I asked
'Don't be deluded, I know it was you. You're eyes gave it away' he came forward
I start to think...my diary. I wrote about him in my diary..I remembered I got my diary and left it at the twins dorm, from my sleepover because I was writing things down, about what they needed, like prank stuff and their sweets.
The twins did this.
'I-it wasn't me I promise you!' I shouted
'Don't talk to me, Black. I thought you different, but you're just like the lot of the Gryffindors. Too full of yourself' he talked down the stairs
'Malfoy! I swear! Malfoy!' I shouted but he never came back
I looked up at the star he pointed out. Had dissolved into the darkness. Apart of me left with Malfoy. I don't know why I felt like this, I've come to like Malfoy when we'd have our chats on the tower. But it was the twins's fault.
I was angry. More than angry. I walked back down and towards the common room. I ran to the twins's room and burst down their door
'Nora! It's midnight what in Merlin are you doing here!' One of the twins shouted
'I can't believe you read my diary?!' I slammed my foot on the ground
'We we're going to give it back to you..but..' one of the twins trailed off
'Don't dare finish it! That's a total invasion of privacy! Now! Don't talk to me. I can't believe you two.' I grabbed my diary off their nightstand and slammed the door. I was furious.
I don't want to talk to them. Any of them. They had done me wrong. I walked to my own room. And played with Kermit for comfort. I didn't want to cry. No I won't.
I then started to write a letter to father so I did. I sent it by owl post.
I couldn't even sleep. Malfoy was driving me crazy, his hurt face was always in my memory.
My breathing was getting quicker. The ultimate betrayal of my first friends.
