Chapter 305 - Su QinMei's Look Froze on Her Face (1)
Zhang Kaiyu who had parted unhappily with Zhang Wenyu was in a particularly explosive mood. He did not have a lot of sleep the night before. Between the family meeting and the visit with Zhang Wenyu, all of these combined turned him into a bucket of dynamite that could be ignited by the slightest spark.
When he returned home, nobody dared ask him how did the talk with Zhang Wenyu went. The answer was already written on his face.
Nobody wanted to be collateral damage and they stood up and got ready to leave.
Zhang Kaiyu's voice was very cold. "Banish Zhang Bi. We are not going to have the Zhang family's reputation ruined because of him."
The Zhang family members exchanged looks with each other. As long as they sever the ties with Zhang Bi, not only could they stop their losses, they could also earn the reputation of being fair and righteous.
"Yes. We should have done that a long time ago. How much troubles had he brought us so far?"
"Considering that he was a descendant of the Zhang family, we can even give him a house so he will have a place to stay. That ought to be more than enough."
"No! You can't do that!"
Su QinMei shrieked with a look of disbelief. Bi's reputation was so bad now and his future gloomy. If he was banished from the Zhang family now, he would be like mud on the ground that anyone could walk all over. That was not something that she wanted to see happen. Had she knew the consequences would be so severe, she would have tried to stop him at all costs.
"Dad, I am sure there are other solutions. Please, don't abandon him."
Tears came pouring down for Su QinMei. She had put all of her hopes on her son. She grabbed Zhang Kaiyu by his arm and pleaded with him.
Zhang Kaiyu's face was covered in ice. He yanked his arm free from her. "WenYu would not budge. For the sake of the Zhang family, I don't have much of a choice."
"He is so ruthless. How could me?!" Su QinMei was crying even more now. "I'll go talk to him! I'll go talk to him myself! I am his mother. He must do this for my sake."
She was willing to bow down to that bastard for her son.
Wiping her tears away, she couldn't sit around any longer. She rushed out and even left her purse behind.
Zhang Kaiyu watched her leave and his lips curved upward slightly. He was glad that he insisted on saying that WenYu and Bi were twins. They just might be able to use that to put some pressure on him. He might not care about this grandfather, but he should at least care about his "birth mother" had to say.
He had only curved his lips half way before he stopped himself. The fiasco just now with Su QinMei made his headache worse. He decided to get some rest at his room first.
After Zhang Kaiyu had left, the atmosphere seemed to have unfroze and everybody else seemed to be able to talk again.
"Say, how does Su QinMei have the audacity to go plead with Zhang Wenyu? Does she really think she is his real mother? She really doesn't think that others know how Zhang Wenyu were kidnapped back then?"
"This must be what you read online all the time. A person can be so shameless that they are invincible."
"Not even bullets could pierce through the skin of this mother and son."
The other branches of the Zhang family had never liked Su QinMei and her son much. Especially when Su QinMei loved to put on the everybody-else-but-my-son-are-all-garbage attitude. Now that there was drama to be watched, all of the other branches had banded together in melon-eating and gossiping.

Jiang WenYu, watching the anxiousness on Su QinMei, his lips curved upward but his eyes were not smiling. In fact, a sense of coldness radiated out from him.
He had waited long enough for Su QinMei to come and seek him out voluntarily.
"Bring her in." He said to his assistant before he walked over to the desk pulled open a drawer and pulled out a file folder. Inside the folder were some papers that were already turning yellow. Among those papers were past examinations and some documents. These were all evidences collected by Fang JunRong for him. They belonged to the twins Su QinYing and Su QinMei. Su QinYing and Su QinMei's handwriting were entirely different. Much like the writer themselves, Su QinYing's handwriting was poised, open, and elegant like a startled dragon. She would leave half a character's space between characters. As for Su QinMei, hers were small and delicate and has the habit of writing in small printed form. Her handwriting looked slim and beautiful.
The two may looked alike in appearance but their temperaments were very different. Those who were closed to them should be able to spot their differences easily. Nevertheless, nobody questioned Su QinMei's identity over the years. Even though outsiders would feel that "Su QinYing" had changed quite a bit but, with the support of her relatives in addition to all the incidents surrounding the Su family, it was only natural that they would think the personality change was brought about by the shock from the events.

The Zhang and the Su families probably knew it all along. They just played along and kept it on the downlow. Afterall, cheating with one's sister-in-law was a big scandal and would ruin the reputations of both families should words get out. On top of that, a dead person was not able to defend themselves so his mother was replaced just like that. There was even someone else's name on her gravestone and the culprit had taken over her identity and enjoyed everything that was rightfully hers. And he was kidnapped at a young age.
From his memory, the couple who raised him had been very nice to him at the beginning. All the way until they had their own children and he had become a sore thorn in their eyes. His days had become progressively more difficult from that point forward. Later on, the human trafficking ring was busted and the investigator also located him during that time. The couple were sentenced. He was to be sent to an orphanage but the grandmother next door was nice enough to take him in and raised him.
Thinking about that made his hatred toward the Zhang and the Su families turned into gut-rotting poison that spread with his blood to all of his limbs. The only way to quell the fire of his hatred was to witness the end of both families.
"WenYu!"
As soon as Su QinMei had walked in and laid eyes on him, she quickly walked over and was about to grab his hand.
Jiang WenYu straight up avoided her and did not bother concealing the resentment in his look. The way he looked at her had no warmth at all.
His action brought a stuffy feeling to Su QinMei's chest and she wanted to unleash on him. Then, remembering her poor son, she stopped herself. She put on a sad face and said, "WenYu, Mom is begging you. Please let your brother off the hook?"
"You are brothers related by blood. He was instigated and wasn't thinking straight."
Her voice choked when she recalled her son who had sustained such injuries from the beating that he was bedridden.
"Please, for my sake. Let him go this one time. I promise I will teach him a good lesson."
Jiang WenYu couldn't believe that this woman would still have the audacity to plead with him as his mother even now.
"You really think are you good enough to pretend to be my mother?"
Su QinMei, who had tears rolling down her cheeks, paused and looked up at him stiffly. She happened to look into his eyes that were like a chilly pond. A chillness rose up from her backbone and panic could be seen on her. "What are you talking about? I don't understand."
"Did someone say something to you? They are just trying to instigate. They wanted to drive a wedge between us. Don't listen to them!"
Jiang WenYu's voice became colder. "I've already done a DNA test."
All of the explanations that Su QinMei had prepared ahead of time were now stuck in her throat as though she had just been punched. Her mind raced frantically and her hand began to shake. Jiang WenYu's actions caught her by surprise.
After a little while, she took a deep breath and said, "You are right. You are not my son but the son of my sister." One way or another, she couldn't admit to the fact that she was Su QinMei. So her only other option was to portray him as the son of Su QinMei.
There was still hesitation in her tone at the beginning but then it flowed more and more smoothly. "As such, it is only normal that I hate you. You are the child from the other woman and reminded me of my husband's transgression. So how could I be fond of you?!" That was right. She must be Su QinYing! And the one who had died must be Su QinMei!
"It was exactly because the two had hooked up that my father was so upset that he had died of a heart attack." Her eyes reddened. "Your mom and you owed us at least that much. As such, you must make it up for us."
That was it! That was exactly it!

Before she was even done talking, Jiang WenYu had already swung his palm at her to slap her. He was not one to hit a woman but Su QinMei's behavior had already disqualified her as a human.
The pain coming from her cheek stunned Su QinMei. Her eyes widened and her chest heaved from anger. She said through gritted teeth. "You hit me! How dare you hit me!"
As soon as she finished saying that, Jiang WenYu slapped her again. He hit her on her left cheek earlier and now it was her right.
"Pardon me. I have OCD. Looks more even now."
He was angry to a point that he actually started calming down. "So you are brain dead. Did you really think that the entire world is as stupid as you are?"
His lips curving up slightly, he had a mocking look on him.
"I was able to gather yours and my mother's handwriting since you were children. I am sure the police station will help me determine whether you are Su QinYing or Su QinMei."
"Perhaps you are not aware of such a thing called fingerprints. Even identical twins have different finger prints. They might look very simple at a glance but, under the microscope, one could still tell the differences."
Fang JunRong was able to get her hand on some of the documents with his mother's hand print in the past. With the finger prints, that ought to be sufficient to prove Su QinMei's identity.
Su QinMei's face was pale like a piece of paper. She was both shocked and scared.
She had lived under Su QinYing's halo since she was a child. No matter how hard she tried, she was not able to surpass her. Over time, she had given up on trying. Still, she became jealous that others only saw Su QinYing. Once the jealousy had taken root, it was there to stay. She only wanted to take what was Su QinYing's to prove herself but she hadn't expected that she'd get pregnant and that her father had a heart attack after finding that out.
"So you are aware that you are useless and nobody likes you, right? That was why you wanted to take over my mother's identity."
Nasty words came out of Jiang WenYu and he only hit where it hurt the most. It was his plan to wear her down so she would tell the truth. "After all, who would care about the death of an evil woman like Su QinMei? She was just like fallen leaves that belonged to nowhere other than the trashcan. Nobody would even notice. Your existence has no value. Just how long do you think your sentence will be when this comes out? Probably the rest of your life."
His cool and calm eyes overlapped with the pair from her memory.
From her memory, that was exactly how Su QinYing looked at her when she found out that she was pregnant with Zhang Mao's child. It was though Su QinYing wasn't surprised that she had seduced her husband at all.
She must be like trash in her eyes. Nobody would be surprised no matter what a trash did.
"Enough!" Su QinMei finally broke down. "So what if your mom was so mighty? She still couldn't control her husband. I was able to seduce him with barely any effort. The woman who surpassed me in all areas finally died by my hands and I was even able to take over her identity."
"Hah! And here you thought she was such a popular person. Plenty of people disliked her. My brother, my father-in-law, all wished for her death." She looked up and gave an exaggerated smile. "How else would I be able to keep this a secret all these years?"
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she smiled.
"Sure. Sue me. It had been 30 years. I would love to see what kind of evidences you were able to gather."
And so what if he was able to gather them. She was going to be arrested anyway. It didn't matter whether it was a 20-year sentence or a 100-year sentence. If she wasn't happy, she wouldn't allow anyone else to be. Preferably Zhang Kaiyu and this child of the tramp would go at each other.
Su QinMei, who had been holding it all in for the last dozens of years, finally found some relief at this very moment.
"Thank you for your cooperation. I have recorded our entire conversation," said Jiang WenYu nonchalantly.
"Take a wild guess what Zhang Kaiyu would do to your son in revenge?" He didn't even want to refer to the man as Grandpa anymore, just by his full name.
Su QinMei's look froze on her.
